Recall lending loans (and block borrower renewal) when a local hold is placed in Rapido
When we lend a physical item through Rapido and one of our local patrons places a hold on that same item, no recall is triggered. The lending loan keeps its original due date, and the remote borrowing patron can even renew it — so the item comes back very late to satisfy our local hold, and our patron have to wait.
This contradicts standard local-loan fulfillment, where a hold automatically blocks renewal.
Proposed enhancement:
A local hold on an item currently on loan via Rapido (lending side) should trigger a recall, shorten the due date, and block any renewal by the borrowing patron — ideally configurable through Terms of Use / fulfillment rules.
This development would ensure equitable access for local patrons, align Rapido lending with existing recall logic, and remove manual staff intervention.
