Add link to Leganto and other resources on Esploro Researcher Profile
Since researchers at universities also carry out teaching activities, it would be great to add to the Esploro Researcher Profile a link to the Leganto courses.
Having the ability to add this and further links to other resources (cv, LMS courses, timetables, personal webpages etc.) would increase the acceptance of the researcher profiles as researcher institutional page within the university.34 votes

Ability for researchers to show/hide details in the Communication section of their profile
Our researcher contact details are imported daily and we are finding some researchers add other email, phone and address details via their profile and would rather the alternate contact details be displayed.
We would like a button next to each entry in the Communication section so researchers can decide which to make visible, similar to the toggle visible/hidden icon available in the Affiliations section.

Marking Honors, scholarship, projects, or activities as "featured" to better highlight them
Some faculty or researchers have honors, activities, scholarship, or projects that in some sense defines them. Instead of those items blending in with everything else, it would be nice to have a way of highlighting or featuring certain things. As an example, if someone won the nobel prize, they would most certainly want that to be made more prominent in some way.

Do you have researchers with the same name? We need a way to distinguish between them
We have several researchers with the same name in our institution.
When in an asset, we want to connect the asset to the correct researcher.
Currently, there is no way to distinguish between them (especially if they are previously affiliated). We suggest including the previous internal affiliation if it is a previously affiliated researcher.
An example is in the attached file.

Researcher engagement type – make it possible for researchers to add and edit
It is possible to add researcher engagement type to the profiles. At the present, this feature is restricted to system administrators. It would be most beneficial if the researcher could add and edit the engagement type themselves.

Impact Idea 6: Integration of Research Activity Identifier (RAiD)
Integrate RAiD as a persistent identifier for research Projects and certain activities. RAiD will align with the European Open Science Cloud infrastructure, enhancing the visibility and traceability of research activities. This integration will support more robust Project identification and linking across various platforms.

Draft mediated deposits display in profile
Currently, drafts of mediated deposits do not display in researcher profiles. Complicated mediated deposits like datasets often go through several drafts before they are ultimately approved and published. In these cases, it would be very useful for the draft deposit to display in the profiles of all affiliated researchers for their review and feedback.

Controlled vocabularies and metadata field limits
To aid in the discovery of both researchers and assets, it would be great if the following functionality were available:
- Ability to limit keywords/research topics at the researcher level
- Ability to limit the length of the describe your research section of the profile
- Availability of more controlled vocabularies - preferably not LCSH, but a blend of subject-specific vocabularies (MeSH, Inspec, MLA, etc. -- maybe even the controlled vocabularies from the old CSA indexes given how good they are for the social sciences)
- Ability to limit keywords to just items from controlled vocabularies
We had an extensive discussion today with a…

Allow users to sort assets
In the Scholarship section of the profile, assets appear in reverse chronological order and there is no way to change the sort. Please add a sort feature as we have in Primo.

Expertise Finder
Esploro is capable of being an Expert Finder but limited to subject matter expertise gleaned from your Research Topics. What about an entire area for Expertise in the profile? The idea would be to list things you consider yourself an expert in (using the same taxomonies already available or free text) and offer toggles for :
-willing to be contacted about
-willing to mentor
-willing to assist in an emergency
-willing to serve on a committee
etc..Then the expertise is explicitly searchable and also indicative of people willing to apply that expertise in those scenarios. Then we would not…

Bulk updates to "Managed Externally" checkboxes
Currently, if the "Managed Externally" checkboxes are checked, faculty are unable to make changes to any of the fields. This became apparent when we noticed that prefilled Education fields (filled in during the time of our migration) were not accurate and the faculty members were not able to update it unless we uncheck these boxes. However, in a user's account there are up to 5-6 of these boxes. I was looking for a job that can bulk uncheck some if not all the boxes in all researchers.

Impact Idea 1: Date Field for Added Files & Links
Incorporate a date field for files and links added to a project in Esploro. This feature will be crucial for tracking the timeline of project-related documents, such as appreciation emails, blog posts, or reports.
As we begin collecting a 'paper trail' of engagement leading to societal impact, and potentially in many future cases, academics will need to add information to their projects retrospectively. For supporting evidence that is temporarily or not publicly available (e.g., emailed testimonials or government websites), it is best practice to capture and store these locally, preferably in Esploro.
The date field will help document when the…

Ability to flag external and internally managed grants
When a researcher is involved with a grant that is not managed by the organisation it would be nice to be able able to display this on the profile grants tab. So Internally managed grants would display as internally managed and ones where the researcher is a collaborator on a grant that is owned by another institution would show as externally managed.

Impact Idea 5: Moderation/Approval Step
Introduce a moderation step or approval process before Projects are made public. This step will ensure content quality and accuracy, maintaining high standards for Project visibility and reducing the likelihood of errors or inappropriate content being published.

Selecting a license in self-deposit
Selecting a license is not intuitive on the self-deposit form. You have to click the three dots next to the file after it’s been uploaded, then select the license. This is too bothersome for the researcher, so she's not selecting a license. We can leave this blank for most items, but it's very important for anything we're registering with CrossRef or DataCite, so it requires follow-up with the researcher. It would be better if the form prompted the researcher to select a license (or not).

Impact Idea 3: Extra Research Topics/Subjects
Expand the range of research topics and subjects within Esploro Projects by adding options for ANZSRC Socio-economic Objectives (Why), ANZSRC Fields of Research (What/How), and Sustainable Development Goals. We propose including up to three Fields of Research (FoRs), three Socio-economic Objectives (SEOs), and three Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This enhancement will improve project categorization, aligning better with global research standards and facilitating more effective tracking and reporting of research impact.

Have date facet on researcher profile output list
Is it possible to add a date 'from-to' facet on the list of outputs on a researcher's profile? It would be nice to have a date filter for researchers with long publication lists so users can easily see what was published in a specific year or range of years.

Improve functionality of the Areas of Interest to allow labelled headings and locking of specific serctions
Esploro has ability to add multiple sections in the field for Area of Interest. However, when the profile is edited in the public view (Researcher portal) all the separate segments are merged into one.
We would like the ability to further control the look and access option for the Area of Interest sections.
For example: We currently use HTML to include headers for different sections of Researchers’ biographies, e.g. Biography, Research, Teaching.
Ideally, we'd be able to have separate fields, with customisable labels, in the Area of Interest so that we could control which fields to display and have greater…
