the option to copy references to other projects
Please add the function to copy references to other projects not "Using the Export References" or "Using a Shared Folder".
Both of these methods require many steps.
We need more easy way to copy references to other projects.98 votesWe are happy to announce this feature was completed in 2024 Q2 release. Change Write-n-Cite 4.5 so that multiple authors with the same surname are distinguished by a suffix (a,b etc) on the date.
WnC 4.5 deals with authors that have the same surname differently to WnC 4.4. Our style is based on a version of Harvard and in WnC 4.4 in text citations for authors with the same surname are given the suffix of a,b etc onto the date e.g: (Smith, 2008a), (Smith, 2008b) to distinguish them. In the new version (4.5) if these authors have different initials, then that is added into the citation e.g: (A. Smith, 2008), (B. Smith, 2008).
If the citations in question have different years - then initials are added to that as well e.g: (A. Smith, 2008),…
57 votesI’m happy to update that author disambiguation was included in the April release, and is available under Create Bibliography in RefWorks. An upcoming release will include it in RCM as well. We are looking to have WnC “inherit” this setting from RefWorks in a later release.

Sort Folders Automatically by Alphabet
Please add a function/button that automatically and alphabetically sorts the folders. I understand that we can manually organize our folders, but with large libraries, an auto-sort feature will be a helpful and efficient feature.
51 votesI am happy to update that as of the June release, folders can be sorted alphabetically, in addition to customer sorting. Default sorting for new users and new projects will be alphabetical. Existing projects will maintain their custom sorting, and users can toggle to alphabetical sorting with the new sort button.

Add Global edit
legacy Refworks has global edit function, so I can edit language field at once. Thus, it is good for if my output style has two definition for different languages. However, New RefWorks has bulk edit function as similar as Global edit, but there is no function for editing languages filed.
27 votesI am happy to update that the following fields were added to the bulk edit feature as part of the February RefWorks release:
Authors
Language
Reference Type
Title

Show all fields included in a resource type on the edit screen
Currently RefWorks only shows certain fields when you edit references, it would be better if it showed all fields for that type of resource that are defined in the style

Stop defaulting back to original settings
I sometimes import large numbers of references or are working with databases with large numbers of references, so I set the number to display so that I can see all references on one page. RefWorks keeps defaulting back to 50 per page. I have to keep changing it back and have sometimes only edited/moved 50 references before I realized it had defaulted back and that the rest weren't displayed. Please also stop defaulting to sorting by date added or normal view instead of what I had changed it to. I set it a certain way for a reason and it…

Ability to de-duplicate shared folders
It would be extremely useful to be able to de-duplicate shared folders, as students in my organization typically use shared folders to individually search for resources for a group project. The ability to de-duplicate the folder after the research portion of the project is over would be immediately helpful.
12 votesRefWorks is pleased to announce this idea was implemented in the November 2022 release.

Edit Tag Names
If a tag has a typo or I realize it needs more or less nuance, if would be nice to edit the names of tags instead of just creating a new tag. Creating replacement tags means redundancies or duplicates when I look at the list of tags. Thanks.
9 votesTag names may be edited today by using Bulk Edit option.

Citations need to be black
when copy the references from the bibliography, the references are "dark grey" instead of black. It makes it troublesome to go through all the references by hand, and highlight all the references and change it to black. This is because in some formats, it includes the URL, which should be in "blue". Therefore, it is quite annoying to do so, and quite honestly, defeats the purpose of having a reference manager.

Always accurate display of results and associated folders
Unfortunately, in the advanced search, the result display (in my own citation view) does not show the exact hit for each reference (e.g. 1 of 27) and the folder(s) the reference is in.
In RefWorks legacy this was the case and extremely helpful to us.
Will these features still be implemented?I think it is a pity that the folder display is now only in normal or full view.
3 votesAdvanced search result page shows # of # of results indication on top of the page. Click on "Customize" in upper right corner of page to select whether you would like to show Folder(s).

Displaying folders in own citation style
In RefWorks legacy, you could immediately see which folders a reference was in. – No matter in which view the references were output on the screen.
Now this works only in Normal or Full View. This display would also be very useful in self-created citation styles, especially if a reference has been saved in multiple folders.
3 votesThis feature is included in the April 9. 2024 release. All views display Folders labels.

Refworks citation manager
Refworks citation manager - the order of folders to narrow the citation selection from 'all references' down to a particular folder should be reversed, such that the most recent folder created, and therefore the one most likely to be required, should be at the top of the list and not the bottom.
2 votesThis idea is closed as completed. Folders in RCM are ordered in the same way as they are set in RefWorks.
