  1. Better usage stats

The usage data currently available to admins isn't especially informative. We can see the total number of users and the total number of library views. But there's no way to know how many of those users created accounts, viewed their library once, and then never used RefWorks again vs. how many are using it regularly.

Also, when the usage data is downloaded, the date formatting is inconsistent. For the first 12 days of a given month, the dates are formatted M/D/YY with the month and date inverted. From the 13th onward, the dates are formatted YYYY-DD-MM.

    You have left! (?) (thinking…)

I’m happy to update that with the recent June release, admins can now export a user data csv file. The data can then be sorted or filtered in excel as needed. It includes Date created and Date last active, which can be used to identify non-active users.
More advanced usage data can still be obtained upon request from Ex Libris via your Account Manager or Client Relationship Manager.

  2. Export to BibLaTeX format

RefWorks currently exports to BibTeX, the legacy bibliography system in TeX, but not to BibLaTeX, the modern and powerful bibliographic management in LaTeX&friends. Updating to BibLaTeX data model shouldn't be a big issue for RefWorks as it has the framework for exporting to BibTeX. Other tools like JabRef, Citavi, Zotero... have already native support for BibLaTeX.

  5. Show reference numbers

In old RefWorks references were numbered. It is still necessary.

  6. Diacritic characters

Fix the problem diacritic characters. It was promised last year but still é or ä etc. have to be corrected manually.

  7. Show all fields included in a resource type on the edit screen

Currently RefWorks only shows certain fields when you edit references, it would be better if it showed all fields for that type of resource that are defined in the style

  8. Systematic Review Views

Like the "Normal" or "Citation" view of the data, provide a Systematic Review view that just shows select fields, like Author and Abstract.

  9. Automatically download Full Text

Download the Full Text, if it is available, automatically, so there's one less step in the research process.
