Your feedback matters to us. Help us to extend our discovery indexes, KnowledgeBases and Community Zone by telling us what collections and data you’d like to see us add, using the message areas below. You can also support something already posted.
If you are suggesting new content for Discovery that is not yet in the Knowledgebase you do not need to submit two entries (one for Discovery and one for Knowledgebase)
Specifically you can suggest:
• New collections for Discovery (Primo Central and Summon)
• New collections for the Knowledgebase (Alma CZ, SFX KB and 360 KB)
• New authority files to be added to the Community Zone
• Enrichment of Community Zone bibliographic records for certain collections

We would love to be able to respond to every idea that is submitted, but this is not feasible. We are, however, committed to responding to the most popular ideas—those that have received the most points.
For more information please review our FAQ and guidelines. Thank you.

  1. Add a metadata correction layer for PCI

Many times when we found wrong metadata in PCI and reported to Ex Libris for correction, it took them a long time to contact the data vendors to make the corrections. Sometimes they never can get response or correction from the vendors, and the wrong metadata stayed in PCI without any changes. The wrong metadata is really misleading and cannot generate the correct OpenURLs for users to reach the full text articles. I would suggest Ex Libris to build an internal metadata correction layer for the PCI data to improve its quality. With this layer, even the vendors don't correct…

  2. Factiva (separate electronic collections for different subscription products)

I would like separate electronic collections in the Community Zone for Factiva, specific to the academic subscription product and non-academic subscription products.

We have an academic subscription to Factiva and have activated the Electronic Collection 'Factiva' in the Community Zone. When you follow the links to full text in many of the portfolio records, you get a message saying 'No search results. This may be due to content restrictions on your academic account'. I believe this is because this single electronic collection contains records relating to content that is available to subscribers of the academic product, but also records relating…

please see https://learning.linkedin.com/en-us/partners to become a partner for LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda.com) for bib records for their online courses. I believe this should be in CDI and/orPCI.

    Hello all,

As you are aware, we have made many attempts to establish contact with Lynda.com, and now LinkedIn, for the purpose of ingesting this content in our Index.

We are reaching out to our community with the hopes that you can assist us in creating the necessary momentum to reach an agreement with LinkedIn.

Until that time, this Idea will be on hold.

    Best,
    Rael

  4. Include Content-Select Data in PCI / CDI

  5. Create Target EZB-FREE-00999

The Elektronische Zeitschriftenbibliothek Regensburg published a new collection EZB-FREE-00999 for download (see http://ezb.uni-regensburg.de/services/collections.phtml). Can you please use it to create a target in SFX and a collection in Alma accordingly?

Alternatively you may use EZB-FREE-00999 to update the existing ELEKTRONISCHE_ZEITSCHRIFTENBIBLIOTHEK_FREI_ZUGANGLICHE_E_JOURNALS regularly.
    Kind regards
    Andreas Bigger

  7. Portico Post-cancellation/perpetual access

In 360 KB and SFX (maybe in Alma as well) there exist several databases for Portico - triggered Content.

But Portico has a supplementary offer that is called "Portico - Post-cancellation/perpetual access". This offer contains journals from various publishers where the post-cancellation access is partly not through the platform of the publisher but through Portico.

You find some information about this offer here: https://www.portico.org/for-participants/#pca

The title lists for this database can be found here: https://www.portico.org/coverage/titles/ - it includes e-journals and e-books.

I ask you to add this database to SFX and 360 KB (and Alma if it doesn't exist there…

  9. Jisc Historical Texts - Eighteenth Century Collections Parts 1 and 2

The original idea is now marked as completed - https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/574345-content/suggestions/19523596-jisc-historical-texts

However, There should be over 180,000 books in ECCO. It is ECCO parts 1 and 2. There are only 66,000 portfolios in the CZ at the moment. Can the remaining portfolios be added as a matter of urgency please?

  10. Springer Nature Open Access Community Zone Electronic Collection

This is a request to add a single free/open access collection for all Springer Nature free/open access journals. Currently there are 4 community zone collections in Alma with many overlaps:

    SpringerOpen Free - (CKB)613170000000000044

BioMed Central open Access - (CKB)611000000000000500

Bacon Springer Nature Global Open Access - (CKB)613780000000000900
Springer Nature Oa Journals - (CKB)614910000000000075

We’d like the addition of one single consolidated collection because having the above 4 collections is unnecessarily confusing for students and staff as they currently encounter so many electronic collections for the same journal/article even when different community zone electronic collection links in Primo end up…

  11. Encyclopaedia Universalis, with availability type "Link resolver"

Encyclopaedia Universalis collection already exists in PCI, but the availability type is "Link in Record". It makes it impossible for patrons to access the fulltext.
The availability should be "Link resolver", so the library can manage its proxy settings in the link resolver.

  15. Add books from Proquest's Oasis database to PCI

We are recommending Primo to our users as the route to suggest new books for purchase. However, PCI is not great for books, unless they are part of a publisher's e-book collection.

Proquest have their own database of books in print via Oasis - this would be a fantastic addition to PCI and would greatly facilitate purchase requests or resource sharing requests via Primo.

    Dear Dana McFarland,

A new comment was received for case #00740133:

Case Title: Journal title: Decolonization: Indigeneity, Education & Society - Content not included in Summon Index?

    Last comment:
    Hi Dana,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention!

It does indeed looks like we do not currently have any article-level records for the journal Decolonization: Indigeneity, Education & Society (ISSN: 1929-8692) in the Summon Index.
