Your feedback matters to us. Help us to extend our discovery indexes, KnowledgeBases and Community Zone by telling us what collections and data you’d like to see us add, using the message areas below. You can also support something already posted.
If you are suggesting new content for Discovery that is not yet in the Knowledgebase you do not need to submit two entries (one for Discovery and one for Knowledgebase)
Specifically you can suggest:
• New collections for Discovery (Primo Central and Summon)
• New collections for the Knowledgebase (Alma CZ, SFX KB and 360 KB)
• New authority files to be added to the Community Zone
• Enrichment of Community Zone bibliographic records for certain collections

We would love to be able to respond to every idea that is submitted, but this is not feasible. We are, however, committed to responding to the most popular ideas—those that have received the most points.

How can we improve Content?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.

  1. Encyclopaedia Universalis, with availability type "Link resolver"

    Encyclopaedia Universalis collection already exists in PCI, but the availability type is "Link in Record". It makes it impossible for patrons to access the fulltext.
    The availability should be "Link resolver", so the library can manage its proxy settings in the link resolver.

  3. Bibliothèque numérique francophone

    The « Bibliothèque numérique francophone » (http://rfnum-bibliotheque.org/rfn/fr/Accueil) is an initiative of the Réseau Francophone Numérique (FRN) launched officially in April 2017. It brings together representative collections (photographs, newspapers, posters, maps etc) of ten members of the Network selected for their heritage interest: Royal Library of Belgium, Library and Archives of Canada, National Library of France, Bibliothèque Haïtienne du Saint-Esprit, National Library of Luxembourg, Bibliothèque et Archives Universitaires d'Antananarivo, Bibliothèque nationale du Royaume du Maroc, Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec, Institut Fondamental d'Afrique Noire, Swiss National Library.

    As university library user I would like to retrieve contents from the Bibliography of German Literature and Literary Studies (BDSL) while searching in the Summon Index. This would enrich my search results with relevant resources in the field of German studies and also give me the possibility to get this database recommended.

  8. Jisc Historical Texts - Eighteenth Century Collections Parts 1 and 2

    The original idea is now marked as completed - https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/574345-content/suggestions/19523596-jisc-historical-texts

    However, There should be over 180,000 books in ECCO. It is ECCO parts 1 and 2. There are only 66,000 portfolios in the CZ at the moment. Can the remaining portfolios be added as a matter of urgency please?

  9. British Online Archives

    Records for publications contained in British Online Archives should be added to Primo Central. The resource is published by Microform Academic Publishers and is available at https://www.britishonlinearchives.co.uk/

    There are a number of collections within this resource (about 60). I am not sure whether all subscriptions offer the full range of content or whether the separate collections will need to be managed within Primo Central.

    They have full-text indexing of the materials so ideally this would be available in Primo Central too.

  12. E-Book target for SFX: Textes littéraires français

    Dear Support

    In the attachment I send you a title list of the collection "Textes littéraires français" from the Publisher Librairie Droz, which should therefore have an appropriate target attached to them. May I kindly ask you to create a target named TEXTESLITTERAIRESFRANCAIS_EBOOKS an attach it to the titles in the attachment?

  15. Add DigiZeitschriften to PCI / CDI

    We would like to see the journal platform DigiZeitschriften added to PCI / CDI.

    In Alma there are already 3 Electronic Collections:
    - DigiZeitschriften Open Access
    - DigiZeitschriften Subscription
    - DigiZeitschriften Journals

    Please keep this subdivision in PCI / CDI.

    Since this source contains many old journals without ISSN, it would probably be better if the links to the full text came directly from DigiZeitschriften (Primo Link section) to avoid problems with the link resolver (Alma ViewIt).

  16. Improve indexing of HAL in CDI

    Hal is one of the most important French open archive. The database offers open access documents directly from the platform and references to documents for which the full text is not available.
    In CDI two collections allow to activate the search on this database.
    - Hyper Article en Ligne (HAL) (Open Access) (ID CDI VOOES) which covers only open access records.
    - Hyper Article Online (HAL) (CDI ID 1XC) which covers all the records in HAL.
    Both of the HAL collections are link-in-records databases
    The problem is that it shows as unavailable the records to which we could have gained…

  17. Añadir los paquetes "VLEX Global" y "Vlex Premiun" en la CZ de ALMA

    En la CZ de Alma hay dos bases de datos del editor Vlex: Vlex Books y Vlex Journals. Sin embargo este editor no comercializa de esta manera sus paquetes. Es posible suscribir Vlex Global (donde hay libros y revistas) y Vlex Premiun (donde también hay libros y revistas). Si un cliente suscribe Vlex Global debe dar de alta una colección local de libros, otra local de revistas y no seleccionar títulos del paquete de revistas y del paquete de libros que hay en la CZ.

    ¿Sería posible que se reunieran con el editor para que las colecciones de Vlex que…

  18. Target / collection for Science (AAAS)

    In the SFX KB the magazine "Science" (AAAS) is a portfolio in the "Miscellaneous E-journals" target in SFX.

    Please consider:

    a) creating a separate target for Science magazine and
    b) improving the linking level (currently journal-level)

    In addition, also consider adding a PCI collection.

  19. All Oxford University Press eBook titles

    There is no All Oxford University Press eBooks collection.

    It would be very helpful to create this collection so that libraries developing collections via EBA programs can differentiate between subscribed-to vs. perpetually-owned content without having to individually create and manage local collections.
