  1. Choose when to empty your bag

When users add to citations to their bag to reorganise before pasting back into a reading list. They can only do this task once. It would better if they could do this multiple times, so they can add a set of citations to different reading lists or different sections in one list.

  2. Retain citation status (Being Prepared / Complete) when copying or duplicating a list

When using the duplicate list or copy section functions, citations which have previously been marked as Complete will revert to Being Prepared. This creates unnecessary additional work for our staff who have to mark the citations as complete again.

  3. Display related title electronic / physical availability in Alma citation search

We rely on related records to enable all availability options to display where different formats have separate bib records (as a citation can only be resource located to one record at a time). It would be useful if a 'Related' availability tab could appear in Alma alongside Physical, Electronic, Digital and Other.

  4. Configuration - Disable file upload in reading lists

Institutions should be left the choice to deal with - or not - copyright issues regarding uploaded materials.

The possibility to upload materials to reading lists in Leganto should be a configuration parameter, allowing libraries to switch it on or off.

Uploading files to "My Collection" is of course not problematic.

  5. Limit the approvals request list

It would greatly improve workflow to allow the staff processing the Approvals Request List to be able to limit the items in the list by the year, semester and request type (e.g. to weed out Patron Request types). This would let staff show just the items they are interested in, and eliminate all the noise of the old approvals.

Attached is an example of how we would like the Status filter to appear on the Approval Requests List.

  6. Reading List Status Changes based on Citations Statuses and Assignees

It would be great if the manual process of Changing a Reading List Status could be automated by Alma dependant on factors like Assignee being set to someone, rather than being for the Reading List. This could trigger the List Status to change from Waiting for Processing to Being Processed.

Another Reading List Status automation we would suggest is that when every Citation in a Reading List is marked Citation Status Complete, this could trigger the Reading List Status to be updated Complete.

Both of these Reading List Status changes are things that need to be performed manually at present…

  7. make tags of mandatory or optional reading as compulsory so that librarians know exactly which material to buy without having to clarify

if these tags were compulsory Liaison librarian wouldn't then have to clarify with instructors whether or not to buy material.

  8. Add a "Refresh" option in the Edit Reading List page in Alma so that changes in the Leganto front-end can be cross-checked more efficiently

When working with Leganto front end, there is "refresh" option at the top of the reading list which makes it easy to update things when editing to make sure the latest detail are visible, particularly seeing changes made in Alma reflected in the leganto list.

However, for Library staff there is no easy way of "refreshing" the Alma view to reflect any changes made in Leganto. This leads to users
    i) refreshing the browser ("F5") in the Alma view, which takes you out of the list
ii) Going in and out of the Edit Reading list view to update it …

  9. Allow Find lists to enable course-level discovery (and departmental browsing) of lists

The current Find lists (February 2018) page is focused on individual List discovery. It does not support overall course-level discovery very well at all (especially for courses with multiple lists).

A 'structured search' can be done, choosing an academic department but no search term (really this is "browsing"). It returns individual lists of reading lists rather than a list of courses for which contain relevant lists.

Course level discovery would meet student expectations of how they see their courses/modules from the course or programme level, and allow student to see other module reading much more simply by seeing all courses…

  10. Stopping list creation from Leganto interface

Allow libraries to configure an option to stop academics creating new reading lists from the Leganto interface, but still allow them to edit lists created by the library.

  11. Show Course Term, Course Year, and Academic Department in the header of "Edit reading list" page in Alma

When staff are working on reading lists in Alma from the Reading List task list, they go into a list - the Edit Reading List page, and the top of the page gives some summary information in a header above the citations, however this header lacks some simple but helpful reference information about the course (where relevant), i.e.
    Course term
    Course Year
    Academic Department
It would be useful to add these so as not to lose the context of what you are working on when going in and out of many reading lists over time.

  12. 'Add new title to section' button - float in long sections

Some lists have long sections. It would be very helpful not to have to scroll up through long sections to get to the 'Add new title to section' button. Would it be possible to make this button 'float' so that it is visible wherever you are in a list section. This would improve the list navigation experience for instructors and creators.

  13. Allow tags to be added in Cite It

Would it be possible to assign tags to citations directly from the Cite It window, rather than having to locate them in Leganto and tag afterwards?

  14. Make volume information more visible in citation in Leganto

For citations with a volume number, "Vol." is added when the list is exported to Word with APA or another style.

This happens accordingly to citation style rules, but also greatly helps identifying what kind of information the number refers to.

In Leganto, volume numbers are displayed without this pre-text, and stand on their own. Having "vol." added also in the citation in Leganto (without messing with the export) would make such citations easier to read and more userfriendly.

  15. Always show the "Add" option in the Leganto 'Search Library (Primo API search) search results

Currently when using the search library feature (calling search scopes from a Primo view) to add items to a reading list, the search results appear but users need to click on the result before an "add" option appears.

This is a completely redundant click: it reduces the efficiency of adding resources this way by increasing the time and effort required to add every single item.

It is a strange design choice to hide the most obvious (and currently the only unless 'Add + Edit' is added) option and quite annoying in the User interface, having a negative impact on the…

  16. No openURL in exported reference lists with reference styles (Chicago and APA)

When exporting citations to Word with a reference style, openURLs are included to some citations such as journal articles and electronic books.
    Example:
    https://bibsys-um.userservices.exlibrisgroup.com/view/uresolver/47BIBSYS_HIM/openurl?ctx_enc=info:ofi/enc:UTF-8&ctx_id=10_1&ctx_tim=2017-10-18T15%3A36%3A41IST&ctx_ver=Z39.88-2004&url_ctx_fmt=info:ofi/fmt:kev:mtx:ctx&url_ver=Z39.88-2004&rfr_id=info:sid/primo.exlibrisgroup.com-BIBSYS_ILS&req_id=&rft_dat=ie=47BIBSYS_UBTO:5194209890002205,ie=47BIBSYS_HIO:5149861280002218,ie=47BIBSYS_HIM:5116987240002223,ie=47BIBSYS_HH:5153300090002214,ie=47BIBSYS_NETWORK:71468414340002201,language=eng,view=HIM&svc_dat=viewit&u.ignore_date_coverage=true&user_ip=&req.skin=primo

This should not be the case.

According to both APA and Chicago, the DOI should be included if one is assigned.
If none is assigned, then you can include a URL. So URLs are not strictly necessary and they don't need to appear in the citation if the DOI is present.

APA just requires to write DOIs such as "DOI:10.1057/palgrave.kmrp.8500141", while Chicago seems to require DOI-based URLs:
"A URL based on a DOI (appended to …

  17. Add course context to notifications in Leganto

Currently (March 2018) notifications in Leganto don't really provide any course context, or grouping on the basis of course, e.g.
"- A new item was added to a list
New item added to the reading list [list name]
    [User] added [title details]"

which means that for users with many courses (students or instructors), and with several lists for a course, the context of what has really been added to where is quite confusing, or at least not very useful since the viewer has no real sense of what the change aplies to, rather they can only see the fact of…

  18. Limit availability of Add to Reading List icon in Primo to signed in users/specific user group

We would like to be able to choose to only display the "Add to Reading List" icon in the "Send to" action options in Primo (See attached) if the user is currently signed in or if the signed in user is part of a specific UserGroup, for example, a STAFF UserGroup.
