  1. Adding metadata to articles via the search interface in ALMA

When using the Link Resolver on an uploaded article it needs comprehensive amounts of metadata attached in order to locate the resource.

If an article is uploaded without metadata the librarian needs to search Primo and manually add the needed metadata to the item.

In order to optimize the workflow we would like to be able to use Locate Resource in Alma to find the metadata and automagically add it to the item. As we are using Primo VE this should be possible.

  2. Add a job to (dis)associate reading lists with course(s)

By default un-associated reading lists are attached to the Exlibris default course, and currently any reading lists imported by Exlibris - ie from Equella, require that the courses already exist, in order to associate properly.

However, what happens if you want to change the association of a reading list to a course or courses? There is currently no API mechanism to do this, and the reading list import by Exlibris can't be run in 'resynch' mode where the courses may have been created after the reading list import.

What we're suggesting is that a job can be run using a…

  3. My list filter by reading list

New filter by is only on course code. This needs to be reading list name (not code as most instructors will not know what the codes are).
There seems to be no reason how you have sorted the filter by course section. This should be changed to alphabetical etc. And done the same for reading list filter.
There is an issue when scrolling down the filtered list, as this doesn't adjust to different size pages.

  4. Define specific subject within the URL

We would like to build a page providing a list of Leganto reading lists for public access. The lists could include specific subject.

Currently, its not possible to define specific subject within the URL of find lists.

Suggested to create the public access link which only retrieve specific subject.

  5. Return people to page once logged in

We have an open search page for Leganto and make our lists open as well. Because of this people will often find lists in different ways i.e. not just following the link from the VLE.

If you find a list that is open and then log in, or if you are on the open search page and log in, you are always taken to the "My lists" screen.

I propose that when you log in you are returned to the page you started on i.e. if you are on a list page and log in you are returned to the…

  6. Configuration of a 'pop up' when creating a new list using a black tamplate.

When you create a new list using a blank template and want to add some sections you are able to add the first section however when you want to add a second section a pop-up appears which tells you to add items to the first section and this pops up in front of the add section button, also there doesn't seem to be a way of closing the pop up unless you click to add an item.

It would be good if there was an 'X' in the pop up so we can continue to add sections or an option…

  7. Link to earlier book editions in the student view

To be able to add a link to a reading list to all earlier editions of a book (which are suitable for students to use). The link would need to be visible in the student view and ideally display all the earlier edition books with links.

  8. Option to hide 'Send List' button

We do not make use of the 'Send List' button in our workflows (we process all lists at the point of creation, rather than waiting for them to be sent to the Library by the lecturer). Could we therefore have the option to hide the 'Send List' button?

  9. Hide or customise the top and bottom sections of the quick start wizard.

We want instructors to focus in the middle section to create lists. The top section is too broad, instructors have to scroll down to get to the main functionality. The bottom section is irrelevant especially the gif, we can't even change it

  10. Additional Citation Alerts for purchase and resource sharing requests

Citations with resource sharing and purchase requests submitted currently display alerts showing submission and approval or rejection. However the next steps in those two processes are not added. It would help library staff if the next steps were also shown as alerts, especially when they are backing up staff who are on leave. Email notifications about these items would have been sent to staff who are absent. Examples are:

    1. Resource Sharing request received
    2. Ordered item received
    3. Ordered electronic item activated

  11. Display resource availability for electronic portfolios directly without having to click "View more notes" link

Availability of Citation electronice resource (e.g. "Available from year|volume|issue...") is not displayed directly on Leganto Citation Details page. User has to click "View more notes" link to un-hide availability. This is inconsistent with the behavior in Primo (Primo displays availablility directly), and take extra clicks for users to find out the information. Please display resource availability directly without having to click "View more notes" link to find it out. Thanks.

    User Story:
As a course instructor, I would like the electronic resource availability to be displayed directly on Citation Details page, so that I don't have to do extra clicks…

  12. Make permalinks more available

At the moment if a member of staff, or a student, wishes to get a permalink to list they need to be logged in. I propose that permalinks are made accessible from the "three dot" menu even when people are not logged in. This will make finding lists and sharing information about them much easier.

  13. Edit Pane to remain on Screen when editing & saving an item.

When you edit an item in a reading list and click save the list advisor panel replaces the edit panel, it would be better for the edit panel to remain on screen after you've clicked on save as further edits may be needed to the same item?

  14. Find List Search needs to have a specific Reading List Search Bar

Currently the Find List search in Leganto is searching for Course Titles and Course codes and instructors. Rather than searching at the Reading List level. As we keep most of our information at Reading List level, It would be helpful if this was renamed Find Course and Make another Search to Find Reading Lists information. Which could search Reading List title, Reading List code, and Reading List Instructors.

  15. Alternative method for Stackmap integration

At present the only option for integrating StackMap into Leganto is to use an Integration profile of "Discovery Interface" type. This forces the integration to display in Primo as well as Leganto.

We are using custom javascript in Primo for a superior user experience of the maps, and do not want to compromise that by having the integration profile create additional sub-par map views.

Our preferred option would be for the same user experience in Leganto as Primo. A fallback option would be to have a separate integration profile of type "Leganto" independent of the "Discovery Interface" profile. This is…

  16. Allow visibility at a section level

Currently we are able to set visibility at a citation level, it would be good if we could set it at a section level. For eg, if my reading list is by week, i would create various sections as weeks with a number of citations under each section. Hence instead of editing the visibility at each citation level, we could edit the visibility at a section level.

  17. List creators to be better distinguished with different colours sections in reading list

List creators would like to be able to better distinguish different reading list sections by having the option to assign them a specific colour. This would be especially useful for long lists administered by a number of different academics. For example: an academic could say to his/her students, "my readings are in the orange section". It would improve the list navigation experience for students.

  18. Allow Cite It to work on a PDF open in browser

Cite It cannot be used to import details for an online PDF which is open in your browser window. Such items must be added manually in Leganto.

In Chrome, nothing happens when you click the bookmarklet from an open PDF. In Firefox, the CIte It popup window appears but is not populated with any citation details.

A Salesforce case about this was previously escalated to Ex Libris Product Management, but they have advised that it should be pursued as an enhancement request.

  20. Change reading list jobs to work on sets of reading list IDs instead of reading list Codes

Currently the reading list jobs in Alma/Leganto rely on users creating a set of reading lists. Unfortunately the creation of the set is based only on the reading list code, which:

    - makes it inconsistent with all other set creation activities which support IDs
    - adds unnecessary complication when loading the file of data to create the set, in that you then have to worry about handling special characters and unique codes.

It would basically be the same as requiring users to upload a set of titles to create a title/physical item set.

We've had to create several reading list…
