  1. Short cuts

Both keyboard shortcuts (hot keys) to reduce mouse use, and ability to add often used pages/functions in a "favorites" linkbar for easy access. Reducing the amount of mouse clicks needed.

  2. Get an alert in Task list when a file is uploaded

Instructors uploading a file together with a citation should trigger an alert: the library may want to control and check which files are published, due to copyright issues.

  3. Remove citations' redundant punctuations

We noticed that there are redundant punctuations displayed in the citations added from Alma, could these redundant punctuations not show when adding the citations into the reading list?

I do know that Leganto uses "," to separate different fields like author, edition and publisher. It would be clearer and easier for students to read the details of the citations without these redundant punctuations.

We notice that what appears in the MARC record would be directly copied to the citation, please could an enhancement be made to check if the existing field has punctuation at the end and remove it from…

  4. Auto Save tags when entering

When adding tags you have to select the tag then click the Save button. If you hit Enter it adds the next tag in the list! Most users will hit enter thinking this will Save the tag. I'd like to eliminate the extra click on the Save button and have tags auto save.

  5. Move away from Reading Lists and toward embeddable documents!

Canvas allows for professors to include content altogether on a weekly/unit basis (called Modules). Reading Lists doesn't respect that format and complicates instruction. We should be able to embed library resources directly into Canvas through an iframe/LTI into whichever Module we like.

  6. Allow instructors to add/remove tags to citations in bulk

This would save a considerable amount of staff time spent adding tags to citations individually, and would encourage instructors to make use of the tags we have provided.

  7. Librarians would like to be able to feature lists in Find Lists by "Pinning" lists (or courses)

We have had an interesting suggestion from Library staff working with Departments on topical reading lists - they would like to be able to 'pin' such lists to the Find lists page to make them 'featured' in a similar way to which the default "Recommended" - Popular/New/Recently Updated' ones appear. Ideally a pinned list/s would be more prominent to users throughout the interface, but the Find lists as a landing page would make sense to promote a themed list for library services - being able to scheduled the pin would be even better, but the core concept of pinning something…

  8. Number of participants per campus more visible in Alma

Please have a look at the attached document for full description with pictures.

    Hi,
Here are a few suggestions regarding the number of participants as shown in Alma:
    1. When controlling a list where several campuses are involved, only the campuses are indicated, not the number of students per campus.
We would like this information to be visible here. It would make it easier to decide if more copies should be bought, or if the library of another campus should have a look at the list.
    2. When associating a list to a course in Leganto, the information about the…

  9. "send list"

The "Send list" button should be renamed "SAVE". It is far from obvious that this must be pressed in order to finalize the list (which I assume this button does?)

  10. Allow Instructors to make students collaborators on specific reading lists

From feedback we received from Instructors, they would like the ability to add students as collaborators on specific reading lists. This would enable course students to collaborate on the compilation of materials and sharing of comments on them as part of learning and research activities.
To date it seems the ability to add students as collaborators is limited to Alma-side changes - see the idea which was added to production in May 2018 in https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/395697-leganto/suggestions/33076474-adding-a-collaborator-needs-to-assign-instructor-r

We can see there may be data privacy concerns from some 'free searching' of users without a role, but wondered whether either the LTI aspect…

  11. Option to reset the usage statistics without doing a rollover

We have not used the rollover function in Leganto. Our main concern is that permalinks made in the VLE to sections/citations would no longer work. We have no way of checking where permalinks are in use.

The main thing that we would want to gain from performing a rollover each academic year is to reset the usage statistics which are on view to instructors back to zero, together with any student comments and likes. We are not particularly concerned to create new copies of a course as there is nothing to distinguish one year's module from the next in our…

  12. Add ability to adjust display order of Library Discussion & bX recommendations

When viewing a citation, the Bx recommendations pop up above library discussion often pushing them down out of view. It would be preferable to enable a swap of the order of discussion and bX so discussion appears first or show both collapsed by default so the discussion option is lost to users.

  13. Order and remove citations in leganto, so users only have the best links at the top of a page.

When an article is available from multiple places, Leganto shows all possible links, which looks messy and can be confusing. It would be preferable to be able to suppress certain links, or re-order them so the 'best' link is at the top. If a link is added manually, Alma automatically overrides it and shows all the links again.

  14. Leganto Reading List Filters

In Leganto, under My Lists, I see that there are a couple of filters to filter out the reading lists that we'd like to see (see file: LegantoFilters(CourseCodeAndCourseName)), I noticed only these variables are being pulled from Alma's Course Information, Course Code and Course Name. But what about when the librarian/faculty would like to see only reading lists from a certain Term or a certain Course Start Date & Course End Date? There should be a way to do this in Leganto without having to delete or disassociate courses from the reading lists?

  15. Create reading lists by importing csv or xls formatted file to Alma

This will allow us to create lists in bulk and save considerable staff time spent creating lists manually and adding individual citations in Leganto or Alma.

  16. Request for review date

We haev been examing workflows for checking lists and would like to suggest that once a list has been reviewed that the "request for review" date can be cleared / reset. This would make it easier to oversee the lists that need to be reviewed and would enhance the use of the status functions.

  17. Improved Citation Alert Management Functionality for UI

It would streamline the workflow significantly if Citation Alert Notes which are represented by the green dot in the Reading List View could include what contents of the Note actually are. This would save the workflow 3 extra clicks into the citation to edit it, checking the Notes Tab and having to then back out again to the Reading List. There is also significant work in having to clear an Alert once seen and or action, where the staff member has to select the citation, scroll to the top of the list, choose the Actions Menu, and select the Remove…

  18. Move "+" sign

The "+" sign should be moved down to each section, and the default section should then be the section the click comes from. That is more intuitive. I am pretty sure 9 of 10 users starts looking in the sections for a way to add literature.

  19. Option to use custom resource type icons

In Primo we have a custom set of resource type icons as the default images are too small and appear fuzzy. (path to the images is "custom/<institutional view>/img/"
In Leganto only the default icons are available, or each icon must be manually updated.
Manual updates for every citation is unmanageable, and would only result in inconsistent user experience.

We would like an option to specify that the same set from a Primo view be used, or as a fall-back somewhere specific to put the same set of icons for Leganto to use.

  20. Public notes to have text formatting.

It would be helpful to be able to do some basic formatting of Public Notes text. Such as being able to bold or colour fonts and change font size. This would improve the user experience as students would be able to more easily pick out Public Notes text in reading lists and academics could customise the appearance of the notes text they write.
