Citation metadata display - in brief and full view (Author/Extract Author FIRST...)
Similar suggestions will no doubt arise from multiple customers, but it would be useful to have an understanding of the design approach (and configuration possibilities) of the default display of citation metadata in Leganto as regards the general item display at Brief (list level), and Full view, and - by extension - in the My Collection view.
For many customers the lack of a citation's Author PRECEEDING the Title of the work,
OR (citation secondary material type dependant) the Book Chapter author
OR the Article author
BEFORE the article or book chapter title is very odd.
Most reading list documents will have the author (or 'extract' author first and foremost in the citation. This is in accordance with general citation (and referencing) approaches and can cause great confusion if absent, or when, as now, the citation author is underneath the title.
Yes the specific citation style (and significant variations within so-called styles such as Harvard) may be considerable, and may need to be dealt with only within the export options, but the basic presentation of a list item ought really to have the Author/Extract Author name first.
The recent addition of alphabetisation of references doesn't entirely make sense without this being considered, and it does need to take the citation secondary material type into account.
Just as Academic Staff/Instructors refer students to "Read Smith & Brown, chapter 2", so it should be immediately clear to students from the presentation of the citation metadata who the resource they are accessing is by/ who the contributor is.
It would be useful to get feedback from other customers on whether this is what they need
