  1. Retain the original 'request for review' date

Due to administrative deadlines etc we are interested in knowing when the list was first sent for review to the library. As of now we are experiencing that this date is updated when/if a course instructor submits the reading list again, which means we lose the original date.

Our suggestion is that the original date is retained in a separate field.

  2. Allow quick linking back to reading list from citations view

From citations view, if we need to access the associated reading list in order to make any changes, we must follow a very complicated path to get back to said reading list. This path is very click-intensive.

Preferred functionality would be for the Reading list entry in each citation (in Citations view) to be a hyperlink which resolves directly back to said reading list for quicker processing.

  4. Create multiple word tags in My Collection

Currently, tags created by users in My Collection cannot include spaces. We would like users to be able to create tags containing more than one word, e.g. "dissertation reading".

This has also been raised as a SalesForce case (00492596)

  5. Analytics – allow student usage to be measured by any specified date range

We would like to be able to specify any date range (e.g. 1-30/09/2018) for this Student Usage Subject Area. Currently in Alma/Leganto Analytics, student usage statistics can only be measured by week (starting on Mondays). The enhancement would give us more flexibility in reporting to senior management. This also helps us to align/merge student usage reports with reports from other subject areas (or other systems such as Moodle, Google Analytics), which are not restricted to weeks.

Other scenarios where this enhancement would help:
    - Monthly/yearly reports
    - Reports to compare usage before/after functionality/configuration/workflow changes on a specific day

  7. Allow website to be default CiteIt! material type rather than Other

When checking lists created by academics, when they use Citeit! and if the site is not recognised/supported, the default material type chosen by Citeit! is "Other", but other is not very helpful when almost all of the time the material type is effectively website at least by definition. It would be useful if it was possible to configure it to default non-recignised/supported websites to be added as Website citation material type (non repository citations added via CiteIt!) as it would save Library staff having to edit these for no real benefit, either in terms of metadata checks, or in terms…

  8. Predefined searches to Find lists

It is possible to create simple search-links to Leganto that gives you a list of reading lists that matches the query, e.g.:
    https://bibsys-xc.alma.exlibrisgroup.com/leganto/readinglist/searchlists?search=MGUEN101&auth=SAML

We would like the possibility to use other and more specified fields the same way and build up an advanced search URL.

Practical use-case: In the February 2021 release of Leganto new search fields were added to the advanced search for Term and Year. It would be useful to create a link that searches for reading lists for a specific year/term.

It is a major search site in Japan.

  10. Incorporate Blackboard Student View into LTI Integration

Currently, the Blackboard LTI integration does not allow instructors to use Student View to see reading lists from the student's perspective. (Doing so results in error: 400 Unknown user id.) Please allow the temporary student that is created in Blackboard to be created in Alma, thereby enabling Student View.

  11. Add task in Alma to easily identify "Reading Lists with Citation Link Reported as Broken"

User Story: As a Library staff who needs to process Leganto Reading Lists, I want to be able view "Reading Lists with Citation Link Reported as Broken" as an Alma Task, so that I can immediately identify and remediate Reading Lists with citation resource issues (such as broken links).

    Current scenario:
    1. Go to Alma Fulfillment > Course Reserves > Reading Lists
    2. Click on 'All' tab (takes several seconds to load the page)
    3. Select "Citation Link Reported as Broken" from Alerts filter

    Expected scenario:
    1. Go to Alma Tasks > Reading List - citation link reported as broken

This request was added and developed in the Leganto Feb. 2018 release

  12. Leganto Viewer

Uploaded documents in Leganto can only be downloaded and cannot be viewed online. Students often consult Leganto from different devices. We think it would be agreat feature if ExLibris could implement the option to view files directly via a 'Leganto/(Alma)' viewer?
And in addition it would be great if it is possible to make notes within a document in Leganto (within the body text of a file) (cf. Mendeley)? (Via the viewer?)

  13. Send List button enhancement

In Q1 2019, we plan to have some modifications to the Leganto "send list" functionality.
SEND LIST button in Leganto will only be enabled when a change made to the list after the last time it was send for review. If no change made in the list, the send button will be disabled.
When SEND LIST is enabled and active, it will be more visible (i.e. animation) to attract the eye of the instructor.
As part of this enhancement, we plan to entirely separate the Send List to Library functionality from the Publish List functionality.
    Currently, publishing a list also…

  14. Add courses to user's My List via API

Our library has access to our students course enrollments. We'd like be able to update via API every student's Leganto My Lists so that their enrolled courses are automatically included within their 'My List'.

We are able to offer personalized lists of of courses on our website but can't do so within Leganto because I have not found an API that updates a user's Leganto My List.

  15. Allow custom/specific delivery skin to be used in Leganto

We've noticed that the alma delivery skin in Leganto does not match the Primo delivery skin, and so customizations to the delivery skin in order to get things working in Primo are not available. There is no option to customize the default OTB leganto delivery skin.
Example use case for this would be where for personal delivery purposes the hold shelf for a library has to be available, but cannot be disabled from displaying except via CSS hiding in the delivery skin CSS.
The suggestion would be to allow the specification of a specific delivery skin to be used within…

  16. Allow LTI Integration to Pass Course ID from LMS and Create Course in Alma

Due to course merging, the Course ID in the LMS is not always obvious. Please allow the LTI integration to pass the Course ID from the LMS and automatically create the course in Alma. This would occur when the instructor adds/creates the LTI integration in the LMS and initiates the link. Of course, manual course creation on the library side should always be possible as well.

  17. Record date/time and user ID of student who reports a broken link

Current scenario: student marks a link as broken, we filter in Alma to find the citations with Report of broken link. We fix this if it is broken but just as frequently we are unable to identify any reason for the report.

We need to be able to respond to the student to alert them to the fact that we have fixed the link, alert them to the fact that it coincided with reported downtime for a resource or contact them to investigate why they are unable to access the resource (when there does not appear to be a problem).

  18. Make a list complete automatically if all of the items on the list are complete

When processing a reading list, library staff set each individual item as complete as they arrive for the reserve shelf and are ready to be used. Library staff must then take an additional step to mark the entire list as complete, even though each individual item has already been marked as complete.

Currently functionality requires the reserves managers to find outstanding requests by reading list and not by outstanding citation when more than one person works on reserves. This results in a very time-intensive process for units who hold reserves on a large scale.

Desired functionality is to have the…

  19. Task list - broken links alert should link to the Citations list not the Reading Lists area

Broken links alerts are most likely to be checked by a central team in the first instance.

Current workflow is unnecessarily long to identify and fix citations with newly broken links:
    Reading List Task list
    Select citations with broken links.
Choose a list to Work on
Filter list by Broken Links alert
Once the citation link has been resolved, they need to return to the Task List to identify the next list with a broken link

    Preferred workflow:
    Reading List Task list
    Select citations with broken links.
This should take you to the Citations List (not the Reading Lists area)…

  20. Citation creation date and operator should always reflect the most recent action - even when copying citations

Currently there is a significant problem with how Citation Creation Date works in Alma/Leganto.

The citation creation date and operator details should always reflect the most recent action - even when copying citations.
Currently the date is not updated from the original creation, even if a list has been copied by way of list rollover, and then copied, so the date will not reflect the reality of when and who actually did it - this prevents accurate counting of citation creation due to copying, and thus accurate measurement of total citation creation activity, and impedes regular reporting based on creation…
