  3. An option for excluding search results from reference lists

Sometimes search results are not quite relevant because the search keywords appear in enriched data - which I don't see on PNX - like bibliography (a reference list). Though it's not perfect Google scholar has a checkbox option 'include citations'. If Primo gives an option like that it would save the time of users searching more appropriate records.

  4. The ability to customized Worldcat link in Worldcat search API

It would be great if the worldcat link in the Worldcat search scope (enabled via Worldcat search API) could be customized to allow either 1. a proxy prefix or 2. for replacement with a worldcat discovery link.

We're looking into this because when we were on campus, the link was able to - via IP recognition - offer users the option of going to our Worldcat Discovery instance, which brings together worldcat records with our services (i.e. ILL) We would like to somehow replicate that experience now that our services have all gone remote.

    Sample record: https://umbrella.lib.umb.edu/primo-explore/search?query=any,contains,bear%20extinction&tab=worldcat&search_scope=WorldCat&vid=01MA_UMB&offset=0&pcAvailability=true

    Thank you!

  5. add abstracts scanning in scrolling view

When Primo (now Promo VE) switched from a book catalog interface to a journal (Central Index) database interface, one new functionality was desired/required by researchers.
The ability to toggle on/off viewing Abstracts in the results is an important option for real-time exploration. Many scholars perform a preliminary scan of titles to remove obvious non-matches, but they then prefer to view the abstracts from
possibly important materials before downloading items into their personal databases. What is missing is the ability to select scrolling through records with the abstracts in view. This could either be added as an option on the initial…

  6. Our library would like you to add a second email address option in the dialogue box coming from My basket in order to streamline c & c

Our library would like you to add a second email address option to those provided in the email dialogue box accessed from My basket so that clients can send a list of items for click and collect to both the Library email and their own email as cc if desired. (Some clients may not wish to use this option, so it should be optional and not essential.)

Also please add another slot to the dialogue box specifically for the name of the patron to be inserted before the slot for the notes, i.e., Name of patron: John Smith

  10. Ability to run blank search with limiters in advanced search without "*"

The idea is explained here: https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308176-primo/suggestions/35373859-ability-to-run-blank-search-with-limiters-primo But the ExLibris solution is to use "*". This idea suggests a possibility to search with limiters in advanced search without any search syntax like double quoted asterisk. Just blank with limiters.

  11. Primo VE link should open in

In Primo Classic, main menu links have an option to open links in current windows or new window/tab. In Primo VE links open into a new tab, it would be good to have the option to open a new search in the current window.

  12. Primo - Set up display logic rules - document type level

Set up display logic rules not at the level of a target or a service but at the level of the document type:
in particular, no more link or SFX service to be displayed when document type is dataset or patent, it seems SFX does not know how to process datasets metadata.

  14. Implement Just in Time (JIT) SAML provisioning for Primo Classic

JIT SAML provisioning is supported for Alma and Primo VE, but currently not for Primo Classic. IWe would like to see this functinality implemented for Primo Classic as well.

  15. Navigation within My Favorites should be more user-friendly

Navigation within My Favorites is tedious: When a favorite is removed or when the list is relabeled, you always go to the top of the list instead of the original starting point.

  16. A-Z ejournals list

Would it be possible to re-instate the alphabetical groupings of eJournals that used to appear in Primo before Primo VE? This would be in addition to the subject groupings that we now have. The Subject groupings are great, but we have some customers who prefer to search through the alphabetical groupings that we used to have. If it could be something that could be incorporated, but have the ability to turn it off for those that don't want it on their Primo VE that would be great. Different people look for things in different ways and I think having both…

  17. Allow API retrieval of a user's saved searches

We would like the ability to retrieve a user's saved searches via API, in order to allow for the user's searches to be displayed with other user information (e.g., in a library website user account).

There is an existing API, in the DevTools' Network tab as
/primo_library/libweb/webservices/rest/v1/savedSearches?vid=..., which requires a Guest or User JWT.

However, this API has not been added to the API Gateway for public use. We would like for this to be added to the API Gateway.

  19. Import excel file to Journal Search Category labels

Journal Search Categories are possible to export as an excel file. It should also be possible to import the excel file, after editing it in excel. That possibility already exists for the Journal search labels. Why not for Journal Search Categories also?

  20. Allow custom scopes for CDI records, for an "articles only" drop-down search profile

Currently, custom scopes that allow for setting conditions include only local data from Alma, and do not include any CDI records, even if blended with CDI. This means it is not possible to create a search profile with a custom data scope of with "Resource type: articles". Instead, in order to limit a search to only articles, the user must use the facets on the left-hand side of the page. I think this is a common search parameter that should ideally be available in the drop-down menu to the right of the search bar.
