  1. Adding Accession Number for EBSCO results to the PCI

Would be useful to add the EBSCO Accession Numbers to PCI records and sending these Accession Numbers in the OpenURL from Primo to Alma, so that Alma could use them to build direct links to EBSCOhost for problematic linking issues.

  2. Field labels in Brief Record Displays

It would help the user to make sense of what they are reading in the Brief Record Display if we could include labels for some of the fields -- particularly for "Subject" and "Is part of".

  3. Add in-line display option for textual holdings and notes (866 a,z) in Get It section

The display of the 866 a (holdings) and z (notes) subfields as separate lines in Primo VE is confusing for users. We request the option to display the 866 subfields a and z in the same line in Primo.
For example, a journal has 2 866 fields, one of which includes "CD-ROM" in subfield z to indicate the format. The word "CD-ROM" appears in the third line, causing confusion about if this refers to the line above, or is a separate holding.

    Availability:
    v.66 (1996)-v.85 (2015),
    v.87 (2017) - v.88 (2018)
    CD-ROM

  4. Less duplicate records in Primo Central Index results

Primo Central grouping is based on the existing FRBR workflow, including the grouping process at the database level (the way the Search engine handles grouping) and the Front End functionality. It is used to prevent duplicate records in the results list.

Unfortunately, many records are not added to FRBR groups because the system considers the metadata are not rich enough. With the increase of records provided by (Open Access) aggregators and repositories, the number of duplicate records will certainly not decrease.

Could Ex Libris improve the FRBR workflow for Primo Central records in order to reduce the number of duplicate…

  5. Browses: add See Also and Usage info from authority headings

Primo supports display of See references (not same as See Also) in browse headings, if those cross-references are in the bibliographic data ingested by Primo. There is no capacity to display See Also and Usage info from authority records, which are important so that users understand how and why certain terms, especially subjects, may be used.

We propose that See Also and Usage info display in the Browse headings.

Example headings and See Also and Usage info that does NOT currently display in Primo:

    Blacks:

Search also under: subdivision Blacks under individual wars, e.g. World War, 1939-1945--Blacks; and headings beginning…

  6. loan history lookup option

Loan history lookup options, such as, a search box, a year select box or a slider (of the return date), would be helpful for the users having hundreds of loan history records.

  7. Customizable Collection Discovery according to PrimoVE views

It'll be great if, according to the view, you can see specific collections displayed in the Collection Discovery.
Currently, Collection Discovery is the same regardless of the view, which goes in detriment of the user experience.

  8. [PRIMO] Allow normalization of Primo Central Index PC records

It would be great to have the ability to normalize the Primo Central records using NR set as we do for local records.
This would be very beneficial. For example:

    - Customers could choose their own facet values and harmonize them with local records.
    - Values only in PC records could be removed of modified (e.g. toplevel facet values for Open access and Peer Reviewed )
    - FRBR and Dedup could be performed also against local records, thus greatly improving results in blended search.
    etc.

  9. Improve the formatting of Primo VE forms so that they can expand and accommodate longer titles.

In Primo VE the Resource Sharing and Purchase Request forms are designed to be very narrow - the entry fields are 50 characters wide. They look like they have been designed to be optimised for a mobile interface and do not resize if more room is available.
This means that if I requested Title is longer than 50 characters you cannot see it all at once.

We have attempted to use changes in the css to widen the form but this causes issues with the display of Advanced Search fields.

  10. Displaying the pre-filters used, as the used facets are dispalyed

It would be very useful to display the pre-filters used in Primo New UI (from both simple search screen - as of May release and advanced search screen). Pre-filters used should be displayed in the brief results list just as the facets used are displayed, at the top of the column. Thus the patron can always see and be aware of all the active filters in the session

  11. Resource Recommender / searchable tags / language code table

If you want to use the Resource Recommender feature in more languages than just English, you have to put all tags into the "Searchable Tags" box of the English interface. If you change to another language, the box is greyed out and can't be edited.

I would like to suggest an overhaul of this part of the RR to make the "Searchable Tags" just as avaible for other languages as title and description are.

  13. User data update using federated authentication

When patron logins to PrimoVE using organisational federated authentication, it would be useful possibility to utilise EduPersonSchema attributes (or such) to update patron information in Alma database via 'Update Patron Details' -api. #SAML2 #Shibboleth
    e.g. https://wiki.eduuni.fi/display/CSCHAKA/FunetEduPerson+schema

  14. Add Jump to Last & Specific Page Options to Primo Search Results Paging Bar

Our users are asking for the option to jump to the last page of the search results in Primo. They would also like to get to a specific page number in the Primo search results paging bar by typing the number in there. First and last page options are basic functionalities of pagers and users expect those.

  16. Improve the Cite them Right Harvard CSL file to correct errors

Cite them Right Harvard does not display correctly. I have a 2 page list of errors! e.g. Surname, First name, when it should be Surname, initial. In journals the publisher appears.
Please work with Cite them Right Online to fix this as it is used by multiple libraries in the UK.

  17. Make the New Primo UI more CSS friendly

While the new Primo interface gave us more power to extend functionality via JavaScript it does not do the same for modifications via CSS due to the lack of properly marked up content.

In some parts of the New UI the content is well described, often with custom HTML elements, but there are also many places, often in the higher levels in the DOM tree, where better described selectors (preferably through classes) are needed.

For example, there is currently no selector that show the current system that is being displayed. The <prm-explore>-element could have the current system being shown as…

  18. Implement "Scheduled report to FTP server" feature for Primo Analytics

We would like to request for "Scheduled report to FTP server" feature to be implemented for Primo Analytics, so we could schedule the Primo data in Power BI Reports/Dashboards to be automatically refreshed.

Power BI is the enterprise solution for data visualisation in UNSW. Currently Ex Libris does not seem to support the connection between Analytics (OBIEE) and Power BI (e.g. via Web Data Connector). Instead of manually exporting data from Primo Analytics and uploading it to Power BI, we need to find a better way to automatically update the data in Power BI Reports/Dashboard.

    If we can schedule Primo…

  19. Allow analytics to display what resources are most selected after a certain search query

It would be great to see which resources are most selected after a certain search query.

This wouldn't even have to be an exhaustive list-- even just seeing the top three selected results for the top 100 search strings would help us better tailor recommendations (particularly in Resource Recommender) for popular search terms.

  20. Stop matching records with 020 subfield z

As part of a matching process Primo checks the 020 subfield z, which in MARC format is used for Canceled/invalid ISBN, to display two records as related. That means Primo shows the holdings of the "related" record in the full display of the first record. For a user the holdings will be on the record with invalid ISBN. Very confusing. We've been adviced to delete the ISBN in 020 z or move it to 776, which is a very bad solution. I advice ExLibris to get rid of this solution and not violate the standards of MARC.
