  1. Show ALL data recorded in faceted fields

When a search is done on a faceted field, not all the possible results in any given facet are shown. There is no logical resulting display of faceted values. For example, if one searches for the keyword "Novels" in our sandbox, and then goes to the Creator Demographic Group facet (data from MARC 386 field), you get a choice of some terms like Algerians (53), Americans (1464), Austrians (353) and so on. But Canadians and Germans are not shown in this list, even though there are many records that have 386 Canadians or Germans. If you do a keyword search…

  2. Improve Primo Search Algorithms

When our users look for a book in the Primo Search Portal they expect that the Primo Search behaves like a Google Search, i.e. they expect that Primo finds books with titles or metadata containing words similar to those in their query. Unfortunately, the Primo Search is very sensitive to the exact spelling of the words in the query. If the search query is slightly inaccurate, the book is not found in Primo. I tried such unsuccessful search queries on www.amazon.de, and Amazon usually found the correct book: Amazon showed the correct hit on top of the list (see…

  3. Items loaned to Resource Sharing do not show as included in local scopes

Primo indexes one location for each item - the current location. In the case of resource sharing, the current location for the item is the temporary location. Therefore, when you search from a local scope, items in the resource sharing location are not found.

We would like to have the scope reflect the permanent location not the temporary location.

We have a scope for our Teaching Materials Collection which is specifically geared to our Education major students. They are taught to use this scope in their instruction. Not finding materials in this scope that are on loan via R/S (as…

  4. Export ISSN, EISSN, DOI and PMID Separately

Using Export to Excel or CSV, we are able to export Identifier, but ISSN, EISSN, DOI and PMID are grouped together in one field.
It will be more user-friendly if each Identifier is splitted into separate fields as shown in the attachment.

Also I'd like to ask you one more favor.
It would be great if "https://doi.org/" is added to DOI to access easily like https://doi.org/10.1109/5.771073.

  5. Visually Indicate Boolean AND Grouping of Facets

This is in reaction to a discussion on the mailing list ("[Primo] facets - issue with selecting one-by-one vs. multiple") and to have an idea for the other option (in contrast to [0]) to resolve the dilemma described there:

Instead of changing the system behavior it would be good to indicate what is happening. In general it makes sense that after selecting one facet, looking at the results and deciding to add another facet that the boolean connection of these two facets will be "AND", while selecting some facets in one go is likely intended to be an "OR".

    Forms…

  6. Allow libraries to configure the Brief Record Display with more flexibility

In the brief and full display pages, libraries can display information contained in data fields (such as the title, author, and creation date) from the source record. This information helps users to differentiate records quickly. In some cases, there can be a lot of information that is displayed. This is particularly the case when Contributor is added: all 7XX fields are added, and in their entirety (see for example in the attached screenshot).

We would like an option that would allow the library to either limit the number of fields to display (for example max 3 7XX fields) or to…

  8. Allow Roman numerals for page range in digitization request form

Users submit a range of pages when they request digitization of a material. Preliminary pages in books often use Roman numerals. Please whitelist these characters along with 0-9 in the form validation scheme.

  10. Reconcile top-level facet selection (one by one vs. multiple)

Currently, if you select top-level facets one by one (e.g. "Peer-reviewed Journals" then "Full Text Online"), you get different results than if you select both facets at once (using the checkboxes and clicking "Apply Filters".) The first applies a boolean AND and the second applies a boolean OR.

Ex Libris support has confirmed that this intended and expected behavior.

This functionality seems confusing to both our patrons and staff. I think I can see the argument if this occurs within certain other facets (e.g. Resource Type), but because this happens with top-level facets that do not otherwise seem like the…

  11. Have Location Facet appear ONLY AFTER a Library facet is selected

For large library systems, many locations of stacks, eg. exist making the location facet appear very confusing to users. The LibraryLocation facet is problematic because many library locations are beyond the limit of 20 that's possible to view.

  12. Primo VE mobile website - ease of customization

It would be great if there was an 'out of the box' view of Primo that enabled mobile access (via smartphone or small tablet) without needing to modify CSS.
Users are increasingly accessing Primo from their mobile devices, and the standard interface does not allow for this type of functionality.

  13. Journal Search results should display dates of access not dates of publication

When performing the Journal Search, the results are displaying dates of publication NOT displaying dates of access which is confusing our users thinking we have access to the entirety of the journals instead of just partial years.

    For example: https://adelphi.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/jsearch?query=any,contains,Journal%20of%20Health%20and%20Social%20Policy&tab=jsearch_slot&vid=01ADELPHI_INST:01ADELPHI_INST&offset=0&journals=any,Journal%20of%20Health%20and%20Social%20Policy

1989-2006 is the dates of available publication. We only subscribe to 2000-2006.

Currently the only way around this is to modify the bib record, which could not be done since this is a CZ record.

I would like to see either the ability to add the dates of access to the brief results or have the capability to remove the…

  14. It should be possible for partners to log in to Primo and see a list over their lending transactions with the library

It should be possible for partners to log in to Primo and see a list over their lending transactions with the library.

The Royal Danish Library handles more than 500.000 lending transactions with external partners per year.

At the moment it is not possible for partners to log in in to Primo and see their transactions.

This cause a lot of manuel labor for The Royal Danish Library to answer request of status form our partners.

  15. Configure journals A-Z so titles from key suppliers can be ranked higher than lesser known suppliers/OA titles

We would like to apply some configuration to the Journals A-Z in Primo?

We have noticed that when browsing our A-Z the first few titles that appear under each letter do not tend to reflect our health and social care focused collection. We would like to have options to omit or give more weight to certain collections/titles in the A-Z so more prominent titles appear at the top rather than titles that are unlikely to have any significant use for our patrons.

One example would be under the letter L. We would hope a title such as The Lancet would…

  16. Add ability to customize what appears in MyInst_and_Cl (Search everything) scope.

We recently went live with Esploro's Research Repository and have been adding assets for faculty and staff publications, including theses and books that already exist as separate records in Alma. We recently noticed that these records from Esploro are automatically included in our MyInstandCl (Search everything) scope in Primo VE, resulting in duplication of theses and book records. Attached is a screenshot of a duplicate record in Primo VE. Note that the second is listed as an ebook when it is not an ebook (a salesforce case exists for this issue).

Esploro records are separate from Alma records,…

  17. Wrong holdings information for FRBR-grouped books outside of IZ

An institution owns a specific edition of a book, ex:https://bibsys-almaprimo.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/primo-explore/fulldisplay?docid=BIBSYS_ILS71566408110002201&context=L&vid=SSHF&search_scope=default_scope&isFrbr=true&tab=alle_bibliotek&lang=no_NO

When extending the search scope to other libraries, they may find other editions of the book, which they don’t own (https://bibsys-almaprimo.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/primo-explore/fulldisplay?docid=BIBSYS_ILS71566408110002201&context=L&vid=SSHF&search_scope=blended_scope&isFrbr=true&tab=alle_bibliotek&lang=no_NO ).

The original/owned book's barcode is shown for the other edition(s) as well. This is unfortunate as it is quite confusing (contradictory messages, give the impression the library owns resources it doesn’t), and can lead the user to order the wrong book.

The availability status is correct but the holdings information is not. The ISBN should be used here to prevent tis from happening, instead of the…

  19. Add Next and Previous arrows to Digital Collections

Add Next and Previous arrows to Details pages in Digital Collections and, ideally, to image viewers so that users don't have to click back to the collection thumbnails after viewing each collection item/image.

This could work the same way as the Next and Previous arrows in the Primo Details page for search results.

  20. license

We would like Primo VE to show a license upon the license being approved in Alma.

Right now, any license that is linked to an item or a collection shows up in Primo VE, even if it is still a draft and in review status.

So I have had to remove the license from the collection in the meantime under we have the license terms verified.
