    • Offer a select and "renew selected" option in Primo Loans tab

Under the Primo 'Loans' tab, users currently have the ability the ability to renew individual titles, or "renew all". But they cannot select particular titles and renew only those.

We have had several patrons complain about this lack of functionality as they only want to renew books when the original loan period requires them to (i.e. they don't want to renew early) so that they get the maximum loan periods allowed.

A "renew selected" feature on the Primo Loans tab would improve the user experience.

      • Provide a bread crumb trail to get back to original search results from multiple versions

It is not easy to get back to your original search results when you click on a title that takes you to a page with multiple versions, and then you click into one of the multiple version records. Providing a bread crumb trail for one click access back to the original results would be useful, instead of clicking the back button 5 times or so.

        • Allow for consistant customizations in the new UI

The open discovery of the new UI allows customers to customize the new UI, extend its functionalities, and connect Primo with external services.
This framework can offer an important added value to institutions; it can enable them to respond to specific needs of their user community.
We want to implement extensions for functionalities like:
          • Offer a button “report a problem” that allows a user to report a broken link or another problem with a specific source he found. The form sends this message to our helpdesk, together with useful debug info like : is the user on or off…

          • List of Loans - Indicate if item is Requested

It should be possible to indicate in the patron's List of Loans in the Library Account whether an item is requested, otherwise, it is not clear if the due date is sooner than on other loans because it is a Reserved item or because it was Requested by another reader.

              • My Account - Previous and Historic Loans

For privacy reasons, many libraries disable the tracking of historic loans.

But when a client is signed into Primo, has items on their account, and goes to the Loans page of My Account, there is a drop-down with an option to choose to display either "active loans" or "previous and historic loans". It is redundant to have that second option there, since we have disabled it. There should be a way in Primo Back Office to hide that.

                • [Primo] - allow to set up a default view, i.e. the landing view for the user when view ID is missing or mistyped

Right now the 'default' view in Primo is the 'out of the box' view, named 'default', which is normally used as template by user for creating the View actually in use. And that's fine.
But the customer should be allowed to define which view sahll be used as default View in the Primo instance. Current feature "Session timeout URL" is not enough.
                  - In case for example of mistyping the URL, the system leads to the 'default/otb' view.
                  - If a View is deleted but a user has a bookmark, again the system leads to the 'default/otb' view.

                  It should…

                  • Display virtual browse by shelf mark as default (without mouse-over)

The new PRIMO Ui virtual browse has changed the display of the shelf mark information. You need to do a mouse-over to see the shelf mark. The suggestion is to make shelf mark display as default (as in the old UI), publication year as an option in back office or maybe have both shelf mark and publication year on different rows (without mouse-over solution).
                    1. Will all users understand it’s a mouse-over solution here?
                    2. Will all users be able to display the shelf mark with mouse-over? Compatible with all major web browsers? The mouse over doesn’t work in Safari…

                    • Modify BackOffice to Clearly Identify Old UI vs New UI components and methods.

It is very frustrating to have documentation that leads you down one path in Backoffice, only to later find out that the path is only applicable to the old UI and has no effect on the new UI. Modify the configuration wizard to clearly identify things as new UI or old UI. Ideally, BackOffice would react to the checkbox for New UI and only show me choices that are applicable to the new UI.

There is currently no discovery for Learning Express. This database is used by all libraries in Texas and should be added to the Community Zone and PCI for indexing and discovery.

                        • Allow Lateral Links to Perform a Browse Search

Our library consortium would like to have the links in the details section of the record display bring the user to the browsable index. That way, if a record has a subject of "Library catalogs", the user would get a list of clickable subject headings with subdivisions so as to either find more records with the same subject or records with a more narrow focus:

                          Library catalogs
Library catalogs and readers [see Library catalogs and users]

                          Library catalogs and users--Bibliography.
                          Library catalogs and users--Case studies.
                          Library catalogs and users--Congresses
                          etc.

                          • Improve Primo RTA status for items that are in transit, on order, in processing, missing, etc.

Right now if an item is not available, then the item says "Checked out..." even if the item isn't actually checked out. In Alma, the status is under "Process type" and we want this more detailed "Process type" to be displayed to our users instead of just "Checked out.." for everything that isn't available. This is really confusing if the item is missing or being processed by our technical staff. We need to be able to tell users more detail. We have had several users request our library order a book and then when the book is being processed it…

This helps to find those articles that are cited a lot and so are especially significant within a domain and also allows a way to quickly expand reading to cover other relevant articles. Having the citations appear on the results list therefore helps to identify such articles…

Can the new Primo UI be configured so all locked facets are unlocked and reset when the user clicks the “New Search”link on top of the new Primo UI toolbar?

Since the locked facets are programmed to remain active for the session, even after clicking “New Search”, the user may receive unanticipated results, and/or a result set of “No Records Found” if the sticky facets don’t apply to the new search.

For an example: A search on history narrowed to the subject of “History & Archaeology” with facets “Available in the Library” and NOT “Video” does a nice job of…

                                    • Combining searches from search history into a new search

My colleagues misses the functionality from our previous discovery system to combine searches in the search history list into a new search in an easy way, e.g. S1 AND S3

                                      • Virtually browse by category of locations

We would like to have the function to allow patron virtually browsing category of locations, so that patron can realize which location they are browsing. We have some special shelf which is out of side the library of congress call number arrangement.

                                        • Better analytics for resource recommender to tell how many times recommendation is triggered and how often it is clicked

The resource recommender can be a very new tool to help improve the user experience of searchers.

However without proper analytics it is hard to tell if all the effort done to create them have had an impact.

Hence it would be helpful to have data like

                                          Analytics that tell staff

                                          a) How often a recommendation is triggered or most common recommendations shown
                                          b) How often a recommendation is clicked
