  1. HAL : issue about "full text access" link

HAL https://hal.archives-ouvertes.fr/ is one of the major open repository in French.
Some publications give full text access, others not. See screenshot attached.
We did activate for search Hyper Article en Ligne (HAL) in PCI.
Our concern is that all HAL publications in PRIMO display with "full text access" link even when there is no full text.

Please have a look to the example : Reconceptualizing the classification of PNAS articles.
This issue generates lots of complains from our final users. HAL is very well used in French speaking countries.

so could you fix this and indicate "full text access" when…

  2. Primo VE: Allow Exclusion of Institution Zone only records from Discovery Network/NZ Scope

In consortial environments, the Network Scope includes Institution Zone only records such as laptops, keys, etc.

We would like the capability to exclude IZ only records from a Discovery Network scope so that we can display only records that are NZ bibs, not local IZ with no NZ bibs.

  3. In Primo restrict resource type to just magazines

The librarians would like to limit searches to just magazines. This can be very helpful when teaching students about search capabilities. I understand this will require further differentiation in Primo Central; subdividing the articles document type to journal articles vs magazine articles and potentially trade journal articles. However, the subdivisions would be very helpful in providing more relevant search results for our patrons.

  4. A-Z option in Primo VE Journal Search

Add an A-Z browse option for Primo VE Journal Search, like the one available for Primo Classic as of the May 2017 release: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/ProductDocumentation/030Highlights/028PrimoMay2017Highlights#SupportofAlmaJournalSearch%28NewUI%29

  5. Index MARC 250 (Edition Statement) in Primo VE

The MARC 250 field is not included in the out-of-the-box indexing in Primo VE according to the documentation. Users frequently include the edition in their searches because it is referenced in a citation they've found. It seems like it would be a worthy inclusion in the keyword index.

  6. Hover-over article abstract in PRIMO VE

Currently, patrons need to go into the full article record from the brief results page to read abstracts. We would like to suggest that PRIMO VE provide the user with a hover-over article abstract on the brief results page so patrons can skim abstracts before going into the full record.

  7. Ability to store test records for Primo VE

When you test normalization rules for external data sources in Primo VE, you need to upload your test record from your computer every time you make a change in the NR. It should be possible to store sample records for easier testing

  9. Resource Recommender customizable for each view

PrimoVE views serve different audiences. If the Resource Recommender were customizable for each view the user experience will be improved.

  10. Make the resource sharing form more customizable

We would need the resource sharing form to be more customizable. Specifically, we lack the ability to add generic text to display general information to the user. Ideally it should also be possible to add a customizable checkbox that the user have to tick before proceeding with the request.

  11. Barcode search in Primo

It would be extremely helpful it we could search Primo VE by item barcode. We often want to quickly locate a bib record in Primo and scanning a barcode is the simplest and quickest search.

  12. Adding Faculty Affiliation and Patron Degree Level to Resource Sharing Form

We would like to add two drop-down fields to the Primo RS form:
    1. Faculty affiliation of requester e.g. Humanities, Social Sciences, etc...
    2. Degree level of student e.g. BA, MA, PhD etc...

These fields would obviously need to appear on the Alma form and be retrievable via Analytics

  13. Configure fields included in Course Information

We would like to be able to modify the default configuration of Course Information field displayed in the details view of the full record in Primo VE, adding to or deleting the default elements (Course ID, Department Name, Course Instructor Name) or changing their order. For example, an institution may want to include only Course ID and Instructor Name but not Department Name here. This is not currently possible.

  14. Display of consortium e-resource coverage

Consortium partner library's e-resource coverage and public notes should be displayed in Primo VE.

When searching Primo VE in consortium environment with Search Profile "DiscoveryNetwork", coverage of e-resource licensed by the consortium partner library (not by the consortium) is not displayed. Only bib record (in NZ) is displayed.

Currently, no information about e-resource holdings of consortium partner library is displayed and users will not be able to notice that the partner library subscribed to this e-journal. If they noticed, they could access to this e-journal as walk-in users visiting the partner library or request copies of articles through Interlibrary Loan.

  15. Primo VE: Public names for Libraries and Locations

It would often be helpful if patron-facing names of libraries and locations were different from the staff-facing names in Alma, e.g., staff users may need to know exactly which of several "Closed stack" is in play, while this is irrelevant information for end users. So public names of Libraries and Locations should be editable through the Discovery Labels code table

  16. Make Primo VE search box placeholder text customizable by search profile/scope

Placeholder text within the Primo VE search box (Search Tiles Labels table > nui.search.placeholder) can be customized by View by adding a new label that includes the name of the specific view. However, it would be most helpful if the search placeholder text could also be customized by search scope or profile, so that when the user selects a different option within the same view the placeholder text changes. Brief instructions/examples for searching could then be included for each profile/scope, greatly enhancing the user search experience by identifying the kind of content included or the best way to search.

  17. Items with item policy "noncirculating" should not display as "loanable" in Primo VE

We have many titles that do not circulate, but because they are available on the shelf, Primo VE displays them as "loanable." This may confuse patrons into thinking that these items can be loaned, when they are not allowed to leave the library.

  18. Changing the language in Primo should also update the preferred language in Alma

We have a mix of users with different languages at our university, but we cannot get a reliable language setting from the SIS feed. Therefore it is important that the users can edit the language preference themself to get letters from the library in the correct language.

Today, changing the language in Primo only changes the interface language in Primo, but we would like it to also update the preferred language in Alma.

  19. Primo VE: Ability to use norm rules to specify which 856 (Marc) fields display in Links service

In Primo Back Office (BO), it is possible to use normalization rules to specify which 856 Marc fields display in the "Links" section of the Primo full record view. (See attached screenshot.)

We would like the same functionality in Primo VE to choose which 856 links to display based on the 856 first and second indicators and/or the subfields of the 856 field. Thank you.

  20. In Primo VE, in the Get It service in full record display

In Primo VE, in the Get It service in full record display add real-time availability summary, for example: (4 copies, 1 available, 0 requests) to the OTB top level display for each Location.
Currently, the user has to click on the Location to see availability information.
This development would bring VE in step with Primo.
