Display Network Zone licenses in Primo VE
Our consortium has a Network Zone and 14 Institution Zones with Primo VE. I manage the shared electronic collections in the NZ. I created a license in the NZ and attached it to an NZ electronic collection. Unfortunately when a user clicks on the "Show License" button in Primo VE the terms of the license do not display. (IZ licenses display fine in VE.) Here's a google doc of my testing with screenshots: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xtUlfFZeF4h4sy6dqv_6TW8vbJ1w80jJsMKmJK0D22c/edit?usp=sharing
I reported the issue in Salesforce 00727735 (not published) and the response from Exlibris is "Thank you for reporting this issue with the license terms. After a thorough examination, it has been decided that a solution for this will not be part of the current work plan. The decision not to include this case was taken after examining the severity and the number of institutions affected by the problem. All decisions are taken as part of a prioritization process which includes a comparison to other issues on the pipeline. I am therefore setting the status of this case to 'Pending Work Plan'. Please note that this status keeps the case open so that our development team can review the issue periodically.
Please don't hesitate to contact us in case you have any questions or comments."
I am posting this Idea Exchange to solicit votes and emphasize the importance of existing functionality (licenses displaying properly in Primo VE) working as it should, especially in light of many consortia/university systems (University of California, Partnership Among South Carolina Academic Libraries, Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois, Minnesota Program for Automated Library Systems, California Community Colleges, State University of New York, City University of New York,...) migrating to or already on VE with a Network Zone.
I have also heard that Alma customers with a Network Zone but not using Primo VE may also have the same problem. If so, please post a comment below.
Thanks for your consideration.
