Improve visibility of sticky facets
The sticky facets are an excellent addition to the functionality of the new UI, but the probability of users discovering them is quite low.
In usability testing students will alter their search terms without ever hovering their mouse over the filters they have applied to their previous search, and then have to reapply the filters.
While the padlock is hidden behind a mouseover interaction this very desirable functionality is undiscoverable.
Also in its current configuration the tooltips for the selected filter and the padlock clash.
The padlock for making your selected filter 'sticky' should be visible by default, and probably to the right of the filter beside the 'x' used to remove the filter.
Thank you for this suggestion, this was part of the improve sticky facets behavior released in May for both Primo and Primo VE.

Hi Bonny, Thanks for sharing that. We're trying to keep our CSS customisation to a minimum in the new UI, but I realise that even if ExLibris add this to their roadmap it could be a year or more before it's implemented so I will ask our Systems team to take a look at your CSS.

Hi Keren, I know ideally this should be done on the ExL side, but if you're interested in making this fix yourself, the CSS is out there. We used Otago's example to make the lock icon always appear for selected/excluded facets: https://utsa.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/search?vid=01UTXSANT_INST:DEFAULT
