Allow customization of the item status field in Primo
The item status field is misleading for material that is on order. Primo displays a message saying “Item not yet received, expected on DD/MM/YYYY”. This date can be several weeks in the future. It is calculated by adding a set number of days specific to a vendor to the date that the order was sent to the vendor. The number of days is set according to when it is judged to be appropriate to claim items which have not been received. We therefore tend to set it as eight or so weeks in the future for many vendors. In reality most items are received well before the expected date, but because it can be several weeks away it causes concern among patrons.
We could reduce the number of expected days specified for the vendor, but this would unnecessarily increase the number of items identified for claiming. We would therefore like to have the option of customising the item status field so that it could, for example, simply say “Item on order” or “Items not yet received, ordered on DD/MM/YYYY”.

Hi Faith, It is actually possibly to configure that display. It's in the Fulfillment Configuration options in Alma, under Discovery Interface Display Logic --> Labels. For code: c.uresolver.getit2.item_list.status.ACQ.with_expected_date we changed our description to On order. We removed the date entirely because it was causing the kind of confusion you mentioned. Here's the page that describes how to do it: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/030Fulfillment/080Configuring_Fulfillment/100Discovery_Interface_Display_Logic#Configuring_Service_Labels_in_the_Discovery_Interface
