  1. Create a Tableau Web Data Connector for Primo Analytics

    Primo Analytics users who also use Tableau would benefit from a generic Tableau Web Data Connector (WDC) available via a Primo Integrations page to integrate Primo Analytics into Tableau vizes via the Ex Libris API.
    The WDC could generate report-specific field structure based on the schema/xsd section of the API report XML, making the addition of Primo Analytics report data to Tableau as easy opening an Excel spreadsheet.
    Since I do not have Primo, I have not been able to test these as I did with Alma, but this idea is based on the assumption that Primo Analytics reports API…

  3. Set default language in Primo Back Office

    It would be useful if Primo Back Office users were able to set their own default language preferences (e.g. for content of the code tables) rather than have to select the language every time.

  4. Allow patrons to request extension of hold shelf period in 'my Library account' list of requests in Primo

    Alma-Primo integration as requires My account functionality to Requests from Alma.

    For Patron physical item requests which have placed on the hold shelf it would be very useful to add the ability for Patrons to Request an extension of the hold shelf expiry. This should only appear if there is no outstanding queue of requests against the item.
    This functionality would save many queries from students who ask the Library helpdesk for an extension. We are often able to extend the hold shelf period where there are no further requests but ti would be nice to automate the requesting/task handling…

  5. Primo - My Account : Differentiate normal loans & reading room loans

    We would like it to be clear for a patron which loans he has at home and which loans are in the reading room. Currently in Primo, there is no differentiation between the two. Is there some way to do this in Alma and or Primo? Thanks

  6. Send email when pipe finishes with errors.

    When a pipe finishes normally, but some records did not load due to errors, right now the only way to find out whether that happened or not is to go into the back office, Monitor Primo Status, Pipe Monitoring, and click on "Errors" next to the pipe (and a futher step to get to "History" if the pipe is not the last one run).

    We run four Alma pipes a day, and around a half dozen other pipes once a day. WE DON'T HAVE TIME TO DO THIS and I bet a lot of other customers don't either.

  9. Untick the box "specific edition only" on the resource sharing form

    On our user's resource sharing form, the box "specific edition only" is automatically ticked.

    It's not efficient and helpful because almost nobody untick this box. And when we search the book and don't find the "right" edition, we don't know if the tick is desired or just by default.
    So each time we meet this situation, we have to contact our user and it's a waste of time.

    If the box "specific edition only" is untick at the beginning, we know that we could trust in.

  10. Add a list of suggestions to zero result searches in the A-Z Journals list

    It is not possible to display a list of suggestions when a user retrieves zero results for a search in the A-Z Journals list. However, it is possible in Primo simple and advanced search. It would be beneficial to provide users with a distinct list of suggestions if they retrieve zero results in the A-Z journals list.

  11. Can Primo use a more automated fuzzy matching approach rather than requiring hard-coded alternatives or “did you mean”.

    Our users are asking for alternate spellings. If you’re one letter off on a name, it won’t find close alternatives. Did you mean or synonyms will not help with this.

  12. Total number of records in PCI

    In Summon, one can leave the search box blank and press enter. The result page will indicate the number of total records in the central index and the Resource Type facet also provide a breakdown of record numbers by material type. It allows institutions to track the growth of their content and their distribution by format. It will be great the Primo can offer such statistics.

  14. Add fields for Name and email address to the Action>Email option

    Our students have started using the Action>Email option which is available when displaying a record in Primo to ask questions about that title/item.

    Unfortunately they don't realise that their Name/email address isn't being included and so we are receiving messages to our library email from Primo asking us to help without details of the patron!

    If you could add fields for Name and email address to the Action>Email form that would resolve the issue.

  15. Add configuration option for displaying time as military or non-military

    Libraries should be able to choose whether to display time as military or non-military, based on local preference. It would be optimal if there was a per-view configuration option for making this choice.

  16. unix-like tool for working with normalization rule sets

    to compare two normalization role sets or for finding spezial references in a rule set we need some tools:

    • to compare 2 rule sets we need a tool like the diff command in unix
    • to find references to a (mapping) table or occurences of fields in a NR we need a tool like grep in unix

  19. Stop the difference in the item display between Alma and Primo when the description field is filled in

    I would like to see all monograph items display as such in the Primo location tab.
    Currently if an item (even if tagged elsewhere as a one time monograph) contains anything in the Items description field Primo is treating the item as a serial.

    This is a problem as it prevents users from easily seeing the availability information.

    If a resource from Alma is unavailable to a end user due to a campus or IP restriction and receives the "No Full Text available" message, then update the "Online Access" green dot to "No Full Text/Red Dot" or "Sign In for access options/ Yellow dot"
