  1. Sort favorites by call number

We'd like to be able to configure the sort-by options for favorites. We'd specifically like to be able to sort favorites by call number.

  2. Browses: add See Also and Usage info from authority headings

Primo supports display of See references (not same as See Also) in browse headings, if those cross-references are in the bibliographic data ingested by Primo. There is no capacity to display See Also and Usage info from authority records, which are important so that users understand how and why certain terms, especially subjects, may be used.

We propose that See Also and Usage info display in the Browse headings.

Example headings and See Also and Usage info that does NOT currently display in Primo:

    Blacks:

Search also under: subdivision Blacks under individual wars, e.g. World War, 1939-1945--Blacks; and headings beginning…

  3. Active Links in Journal Record when Searching in Journals

Currently when you search for a journal in a general search the full record will have links to the author, subject heading, etc. When you use the actual Journal Search this links are not available. It would be nice to have active links in this record as well.

  4. display call number and/or barcode in list of fines

If a book is on overdue patrons tend to call the library and staff asks for barcode or call number. Unfortunately the user does not see this in its list of loans (New UI). Also, some users loan books with very similar titles, e.g. different editions and asks themselves which edition has lead to overdue and needs to be returned.

  5. Add 245 subfield c to Primo display

Please add the 245 subfield c to the display in Primo. It does display in Alma. In the example below, you are not able to determine the author/creator's responsibility for the work - Author vs. forward vs. photographer.

    https://cmog.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/fulldisplay?docid=alma991302983504126&context=L&vid=01CORNING_INST:01CORNING_INST&search_scope=MyInstitution&tab=LibraryCatalog&lang=en

We would love to have more granularity in general for what fields/subfields display in Primo for our specific institution.

    Thank you!

  6. Embed Advanced Search on Browse/Journal search pages

We have had requests to include the Advanced Search on the Browse and A-Z pages. If one wants to run an Advanced Search one has to return to a new (basic search) search and then click Advanced Search. I had submitted a SF case but the response was that this is not a functionality available in Primo. We believe this would improve usability.

  7. A-Z eBook functionality (similar to eJournals A-Z + databases A-Z)

We're in the process of implementing Alma/Primo (at present we're Summon clients). Per Inna Ilinskaya, there is no equivalent ejournals/databases A-Z functionality for ebooks in Primo. This is something that our users have become accustomed to in using Summon. Inna recommended that we post this as an enhancement.

  8. Sorting in My Bookshelf

Currently My Bookshelf doesn't offer any functionality to allow you to order items.

It would be useful to be able to order items e.g. by Title, Author, Added, Type etc.

  9. Display Interface Display Label

Have the ability to configure the Display Interface Display Logic label to display if an item is loanable, library use only, etc based on the patron who logins in or a guest viewer.

Currently by default the labels will show 'loanable' in the Display Interface Display Logic configuration. It's only possible to configure the label for all guests.

  11. Print and email options in Primo do not contain important holding data from Alma iframe

    See this example:
    https://www.screencast.com/t/1aQ3ev3zphx

In the example above the important holding information of 2016 latest edition only is not present in the info emailed or printed if the user selections either of those options in Primo

  12. Adding reset button to the volume filter in the GetIt tab

The filter in the GetIt tab allows users to filter the display of the volumes by year, volume or description.
It would be helpful to add a reset button that will reset the values chosen and display all values available.
Currently, in order to reset the values in the fields chosen the patron must click on the arrow for the drop-down menu of each field (year, volume, description) and choose the value ALL

  13. course reserve

    Course Reserves:
Requested Enhancement: Offer interface with drop-down menus for Course Title, Course Department, and Course Instructor (similar to drop-down menus in Voyager)

Currently users can search for course reserves, but there is not a good mechanism to browse. Offering drop-down menus would easily allow users to see what was currently on course reserve by course title, department and instructor.

    Thank you for considering

  15. Add Sort by Date to Favorites

Currently the sort options in the Favorites list are: Date added, Author, or Title.
Our users would like to be able to sort by date-newest like they can for search results. Many users are interested in most recent material so date-newest is a valuable sort option for them.

  16. Table of Contents Display

It would be nice to have the table of contents field (505) formatted in a more user friendly manner within PrimoVE. In Voyager there was a rule that converted the ' -- ' to <LF><CR> (which is 'Enter').

I have attached examples of how it displays in our Voyager OPAC vs PrimoVE.

  17. “My Favorites” pin should indicate number of records in favorites

In the Primo New UI, there is the “my favorites” pin icon at the top right of the screen (screenshot below of the pin). We ran some usability surveys and found that users would like an indication, via the icon, that something is there. Like the number if pinned items and/or a different color indicating that something is there.

  18. Virtually browse by category of locations

We would like to have the function to allow patron virtually browsing category of locations, so that patron can realize which location they are browsing. We have some special shelf which is out of side the library of congress call number arrangement.

  19. Ability to restrict number of characters displayed in Description field

In the Detailed Results, it would be good to have the ability to configure the Description field so that it displays only a certain number of characters by default, while also allowing users to expand the field to get the full description (similar to the way the Summary field in Syndetics Unbound works).

  20. Why is ExL using a large X as a navigation tool in the new UI?

When I first came across this X, I thought it was a coding fault. It does not seem (to me) intuitive that you should click on it to return to the previous screen. A small x on the top RH corner of the open window would make more sense.
