  1. Reinstate timeout url in Primo New UI

We would like Primo to timeout to our Library home page instead of the Primo homepage. This was possible in the Classic UI but is not available in the new UI. Please make the Timeout URL option work in the new UI

  2. Feature in advanced search to retrieve all records in a certain language

It should be possible in advanced search to choose a language and submit search and get all books in that language without having to write a word to search. As it works now it's impossible to retrieve exactly ALL books in a language in one result list. Check this feature in Libris: http://libris.kb.se/form_extended.jsp?f=ext

  3. Link to record from list of requests in myAccount

There should be a link to the record from the to the list of requests in myAccount. At the moment there ist only a link to the details of the request (screenshot attached), and a user is forced to search the title again.

  4. Primo New UI : Allow OTB ordering of full record display sections

The New UI does not allow libraries to easily configure the order of the sections in the full record display.
We would like an Out of the Box solution to re-order the full record display.

For example: We would like to move the ViewIt section to the top, and move the Actions sections to sit after the Details section.

  5. Have Available status in Primo be variable so that it shows Recently Returned for 24 hours and then automatically changes to Available

Currently there is a single code table label showing an Available status. Having the option to configure a label of Recently Returned that would display for 24 or 48 hours and then automatically change to Available would more accurately tell the patron and staff twhere an item might be.

  6. Opening results in a new tab - stop it defaulting to the top of the list

In the new Library Search, every time I open a search result in a new tab, the list of results resets to the top of the list. This is very annoying, especially if i have already had to load 3 or more pages of results.

  7. Session Timeout Warning

It would be most helpful if a 'Session Timeout' warning could be displayed a certain amout of time before the session actually ends. Included in the warning could be the options to 'keep me logged in' or 'log out now'.

  8. Additional Navigation for linked materials

When following an outside link, such as Check for Full Text, the links open a Primo page that lacks the typical navigation. Users can't easily access another search option or even get back to the homepage of their library. My suggestion is to add basic navigation to such pages so that users can continue their searching rather than ending up at a dead end or having to double back.

  9. Add Back Office funtionality to change colour of calculated availability link text

In the Primo back office, the calculated availability text code table has lines to control the colour of the availability icons that display in the old UI (default.delivery.class)

As the icons have gone from the new UI, we want to be able to easily change the colour of the text of the availability message without having to resort to CSS hacks or trying to put tags around existing lines in this code table.

We need to be able to change colours easily to meet our accessibility obligations as an institution

  10. Return all hits for a language in advanced search

In advanced search when refining to language you only get a result if you have a search statement. It should be possible to get all records in a certain languge, both from pipes and Primo central, if you refine to a certain language in advanced search. As it works in Libris advanced search: http://libris.kb.se/form_extended.jsp?f=ext

  11. sortedy by call number

The current "Sorted by" options are Relevance, Date-oldest, Title, Author, and Date-newest. It would be helpful to also have the option of "Call Number."

  12. "Show Source Record" to users with Alma Staff Role only

Although we can now display the MARC record in the UI using the "Show source records" we feel this feature is only really useful for Library staff and not for the vast majority of users who will not find it useful and will just add clutter to the full record for the majority. Ideally we would like the "Show source records" to be linked to the Alma library staff role so it will only display when our library staff are logged into Primo.

Currently the only option to display this link in the UI is to have it appear for…

  13. Add *before* directives in the new UI

While it's great that the new UI includes directives for us to target when we do customizations, we're generally limited to only putting things AFTER what we may want to manipulate. It would be good to have an easier way to inject our customizations before.

For example, I'd like to place some helper text before our Online Access tab on some items based on the PNX. Right now, I have to put the message below and then do some DOM manipulation. I'd prefer to avoid the DOM manipulation altogether.

  14. Citation generator is inaccurate

The citation in the existing and new UI for books is not valid MLA or APA.

The PNX information that populates the citations is stored in a hidden mapping table that cannot be edited. For example, I can see that series information for a book comes from addata/seriestitle. Primo will use the entirety of the field in the citation. For this particular record, this is the content of that section:

    Rowling, J. K. Harry Potter Ser. ; 2.

Likewise, book titles come from addata/btitle. For this record, this is the entirety of the section:

Harry Potter and the Chamber of…

  15. Improve RTA Holdings status information for checked out / unavailable items for Alma consortiums

For Alma / Primo customers in a consortial resource sharing network, when an item in an institutional view is checked out, in the brief results display, an RTA availability statement is replaced with a "Check Holdings" link. Upon clicking on the title and viewing the full display of the record, RTA is checked for all institutions, including the institution of the view the user is in, updating the RTA status. When the user clicks out of the full record, the correct status (e.g., Checked Out) displays in the RTA section of the brief record in the results list.

    Users should…

  16. Track the date of when a record is deleted

If primo is given a record to be deleted, it is removed from the source record table. This means that there is no indication that Primo ever had the record. Continuing to track the record id would allow the search PNX tool to tell the user when the record was deleted. This would be useful in tracking down problems of missing records that are expected to be in Primo.

  17. Copyright agreement note

Copyright agreement note for ADAM objects displayed in Primo new UI as the old Aleph OPAC page. It does not match the new UI look & feel.
Ex Libris explained that it's impossible to expand copyright agreement notes inside a frame like it was in traditional (old) UI. It happens since new UI supported full SSL protocol and HTML file in Aleph couldn't support this protocol.

My suggestion to change the relevant Aleph HTML file design and font is impossible because there are css differences between Primo new UI and Aleph.

The main idea of this enhancement is to develop…

have a default context sensitive help file(s) in the new UI that can be adapted locally, with local edits being highlighted for change, but not over written when Primo is upgraded and the help text amended centrally.

  19. Add "(full text resources only)" and "(full text and non-full text resources)" suffixes to list of results in Primo Central

We think it would be helpful if the wording directly above the list of Primo Central search results could be changed. For example, for a search for "fish" it would be great if it could say something like:

    Results 1 - 10 of 897,789 for Primo Central (full-text resources only)

when the checkbox is unticked and:

    Results 1 - 10 of 1,194,353 for Primo Central (full-text and non full-text resources)

    when it is ticked.

This would prove a useful insurance in particular for users of mobiles/devices. Indeed, embracing of Responsive Web Design at an increasing number of institutions is likely…

  20. Provide institutions with the ability to systematically boost the ranking of PCI collections with link-resolver delivery over PCI collection

Many times, there are multiple versions of an article offered in Primo. Some versions are delivered via the link resolver, while others are delivered via direct linking. Delivery via the link resolver is the norm and often provides better accessibility. However, there is currently no effective way for an institution to give systematic preference to the type of collection they want their patrons to see first. We request the ability to systematically boost the ranking of PCI link-resolver collections over PCI direct-linking collections.
