  1. Configuration of “Remote Facility” Library location

    Allow an institution to override a “Remote Facility” library location from being first or last for selection to fulfill a request.
    This should be an option via Configuring Transit Time Rules.
    An alert could be activated to notify the operator that including a “Remote Facility” library location in transit time rules will override its designation as a first or last selection.

    This would be immensely helpful for institutions that require flexibility to meet the needs of their users while adapting to needs of physical facilities on campuses.

  2. Support multiple photo_identifier_type values

    Allow the photoidentifiertype to accept multiple codes. Our institution recently changed primaryIDs and our card issue office cannot retrofit their db for legacy users using the old primaryID.

  3. Add school address as a configurable option for the user card

    In the pop up user card that displays, for example, in the Borrowing Requests screen, you can configure the home or work address to display. Since the mandatory address in our student enrolment system Callista, is mapped to the School address in Alma, please add the School address also as a configurable field for the user card.

  4. Modify column size in search results

    We would like to be able to modify the width of the columns for search results in Alma. The collection status (in the "Item Availability" column) can be difficult to read for some records, which forces us to open the record to read it properly.

  5. Make "Always show current location" the default

    Please either make "Always show current location" checkbox ticked by default or allow a system configuration to toggle whether it is force displayed. It is always more useful to see the location than not.

  6. Stop "User manager" role's ability to add and delete Alma administrator roles

    Ideally, there shall be a separation of managing patron users and managing staff users. If that is not possible, please make it impossible for people with "user manager" role to add and delete administrator roles.

  8. Bulk receiving via CSV/Excel

    Receiving a list of items via a bulk excel spreadsheet or CSV file. This would allow users to avoid mistakes when receiving a large inventory one at a time. For example, when adding an item to a holding record, if all items are issues but the default option is book, there may be human error and they forget to change it to issue. if it was an excel spreadsheet, they could simply fill the cells and copy them for the entire column to insure it would all be issues.   9. Sticky temp location in item record

    We are running into a persistent problem, wherein our circulation staff will remove an item from a temporary location, however, while the radial button in the item record does switch from Yes to No the temporary location field sticks and doesn't re-set to blank. This is an issue with reporting. We are able to fix it by running a job but when circulation staff restore an item with a temp location, the temporary location field in the item record should also adjust to it's original status of blank instead of having the temporary location stick.

  10. Utilize dual due date either "End of Term" or "Fixed Time period" :which ever is less.

    Universities frequently want all materials returned at the "end of term". But they also wish to allow fixed loans (21 days for example).

    We need the Fulfillment to allow both EOT and Fix whichever is less. That way when EOT comes into play loans with automatically switch to EOT due dates.

    Solution: We need to be able to have two DueDates on a TOU and set the rule to apply the least days of the two policies. OR on the DueDate policy, add fixed data AND “End of Term”.

  11. Send an email to specific library staff member once an Invoice or Purchase Order is paid for

    I would like a function that you could alert a library staff member once an invoice or purchase order is paid for. Sometimes, library staff need to know that an order has been paid for so they can turn on access or know how much is left to spend on a fund. It would be a neat functionality that a letter can be generated from Alma directly to a library staff member once the PO has been paid.

  12. Save Facet Settings

    There are facet settings/searches we tend to run more than others. It would be really excellent and save a lot of duplicated work if it was possible to save certain facet configurations or bookmark the search so we could quickly access it again later. Would be even better if those searches could be shared among our staff, like how public sets are.

    An example would be having a saved Request/Process type facet filter so we could quickly see what items were needing to be shipped physically, but there are any number of facet searches that it would be fantastic to…

  14. Loan due date should appear in Facets and/or Analytics

    It should be possible to the the actual Loan Due Date given to the patron, in addition to the Due Date given by the Lender in Facets.
    It should also be possible to retrieve a list of such RS requests by Loan Due Date via Analytics.

  16. Rapid ILL: ALMA Created lending request. To have .PDF Preview viewer also in 'Download Electronic Resource'

    In ALMA there are two different ways to upload a .PDF file to a Rapid ILL created lending request. The 'Ship item digitally' (Document Delivery) way allows upload and also content preview of the actual .PDF file. The other way is via 'Download Electronic Resource' which is better because citation information also appears. But the 'Download Electronic Resource' way does not have a content preview of the .PDF file. The idea proposed is to add the same .PDF file preview window, within the 'Download Electronic Resource' option. This will improve accuracy and efficiency in our workflow.

  17. Add Barcode as option for searching within the Receive New Materials list

    We are too small of an institution to use the workflow of Keep in Dept, so we receive the item once all processing is completed and the item is ready to go into the stacks. We do it this way to prevent Alma from sending availability notices until the material is truly ready for use. Having a barcode search option will make this process a lot easier and reduce errors.

  18. Prevent aggregation of fields in digital uploads

    When using the Digital Uploader tool in Alma to import records with MARC data, the uploader aggregates fields with the same MARC tags into a single resulting field once the upload is complete. For example, if a record has multiple 650 fields in an uploaded Excel field, the imported record in Alma has a single 650 field with all of the values that were (in the sheet) separated into different 650 fields.   19. Show Job category in the Manage Patron Services screen

    In our library patron accounts for Alma are imported from an external patron registration system, including Job categories. Nice. But in Alma the Job category is not shown in the Manage Patron Services screen. We would like to have it show.

  20. When running a Remove local coverage indicated, set Which coverage statement will be applied to "only global"

    When running a Change Electronic Portfolio Information job with "Remove local coverage" indicated, in addition to removing all local coverage information, also set the portfolio's "Which coverage statement will be applied?" field to "Only global."
    Leaving it as one of the local options incorrectly marks the portfolio as having local information if it is listed in the Community Zone Updates Task List.
