  1. Hope to have a separate Read-Only privilege for Users' contact information

    The role "Circulation Desk Operator - Limited" lost the priviledge to check user's contact information after July release. To protect users' privacy and manage data, we cannot assign "privilege : User Manage Update" to this limited role as it has right to change customer's information. However our librarians will need to check users' contact information frequently at the Circulation Desk. Requesting the contact information from higher level librarian will reduce the efficiency.

    We hope to have a separate Read-Only privilege for Users' contact information, then we could assign this privilege to limited role based on our workflow.

  2. Analytics field for the name of who modified a citation

    Add "citation modified by first name" and "citation modified by last name"fields to course reserves in analytics.

  3. New Metadata Editor - Search Resources, Merge Preview

    In the new metadata editor, when you search external resources and select merge preview you cannot see this record next to the one that is already in the system. This is due to the fact that the "Search Resources" box remains active. In order to compare the records you really need to see them side by side. This was possible with the old metadata editor. Please see attached screenshots.

  4. Add Licensing Agent field to results info

    It would be beneficial to have the Licensing Agent field included in the columns when viewing results in license searches. Currently the License Code is present, but including the Licensing Agent field would be very useful.

  5. Change the way the Receiving Note is updated in the Update PO Lines Information job

    Currently this job fully replaces the information in a receiving note. We would prefer that the job either append or pre-pend the information we would like to add to a receiving note. It is usually not a one for one replacement, but rather a common detail of additional information we need to add. Often, we can't use the job, since we still want any information already in the note to remain there.

  6. Add option for filename filter to vendor EDI information

    One of our vendors places their EDI information in the same pickup directory that they place their EOD MARC records.

    The EOD import process allows a filter to download only MARC files. A similar filter in the EDI download process would prevent errors from being triggered because the EDI process is trying to read MARC files as EDI files.

  7. Fill in the provenance code of the item according to the acquisition method entered in the purchase order

    When you create a PO line, you also create the copies to be received. Among the information is the method of acquisition. The most common one being "purchase", it would be convenient to copy this data in the field "provenance" of the item for example at the time of reception.

  8. Digital Deposit Order Letters

    Currently there are letters in Alma for legal deposit orders and legal deposit claims. We have legislation for digital legal deposit which requires a different order letter to be sent out to publishers. Even a generic letter configuration that could be sent to any vendor would be useful. All libraries could change the words as required.

  9. Limit the number of request per library

    Similar to how you can limit the number of request for a patron by group.

    If a library has limited resources (labor and materials) and can only serve so many of those request within a given term, it doesn't help to have a backlog, especially when interest in a given item will be lost over time. In helping libraries to mitigate demand it would be good to set a limit on the aggregate number of request received by a library. When the quota is reached then the requests option in Primo would grey out. or not appear. A label or…

  10. Add a View All tab to the Expired Hold Shelf Items View

    Add a View All tab to the Expired Hold Shelf Items View

    There is no way to view all expired holds on one screen.

    There is a workflow that recommends pulling all the items with expired holds off of the hold shelf and scanning in them in using Fulfillment > Resource Requests > Scan In Items. This action moves the item on to it's next step and had the added benefit of trapping items that have work orders and move requests on them.

  11. Merge & Combine inventory enhancement to allow the records the split screen editor use a drag and drop featuer

    It would be great to have an easy way to change the primary bib record when using "Merge & Combine" in the new MDE. Implementing the ability to drag and drop the bib records in the split screen editor would allow users to more efficiently change which record is on the left-hand side (primary record)and which record is on the right-hand side (secondary record).

  12. Have a "undo" or "restore" button for Configuration actions/profiles

    For those important actions or profiles, such as the External Integration Profiles, it will be of great help to have a "undo" or "restore" button. So that if something is wrong after clicking the "Save" button (either too early or incorrectly), the action can be reversed. The good old one can be restored. It happened to me yesterday. I mistakenly and wrongly updated our SAML profile in the Production environment instead of the sandbox that I intended to, which caused the login failure of both Primo and Alma.   13. autofit

    Adding an autofit for columns would help minimize wasted space for those who are comfortable with denser text or need to work with a relatively narrow screen. I think the most common form of the functionality is a double-click on the right border of a column to size it to fit content.

  14. Display e-ISBN (MARC 020 $a) in e-portfolio repository search results

    Currently the ISBN displayed in e-portfolio repository search results is the print ISBN stored in MARC field 776 $z. Please change to display the e-ISBN stored in MARC field 020 $a, or display both the print ISBN (776 $z) and e-ISBN (020 $a).

    The e-portfolio repository search finds the e-books. In a bib record for an e-book, the e-ISBN is stored in 020 $a, while the print version's ISBN is stored in 776 $z. It just does not make sense to display only the print ISBN, but does not display the e-ISBN in the e-portfolio results.

  15. Customisable per-record merge options in Search Resources

    We would like it to be possible to get external resource searching (Search Resources) to merge only specific fields from a given record.

    By which we mean: when clicking on View to view a record from an external resource, or alternatively when clicking on the elipsis next to a brief result, the options include Copy & Merge.

    The Merge Method which is enacted by selecting Copy & Merge at this point is set on a per-external target basis in Alma's External Resource configuration setting, e.g. the Merge Method for the British Library Integrated Catalogue could be "overlay all fields but…

  17. digitization request limits - Daily and to specific records

    We would like to be able to add limits to digitization requests. So that users can only request a specific amount of digitization's per day. And that specific user groups can only requests once or twice on a specific record. As making multiple requests on the same item can not be fulfilled due to issues for Copyright.

  18. Allow Course Loader integration to process files from users' local drives

    With the current bulk operations functionality for courses (course loader), an SFTP server is required for hosting files.

    The SFTP requirement is a hurdle for many libraries, as it requires additional infrastructure (SFTP host), as well as additional knowledge (FTP user tools) not always available on staff.

    We would like to see the ability to upload course loader files for import from a local drive, similarly to how other workflows in Alma also support local file processing (portfolio loader, etc).

  19. Add Publisher attribute to Search External Resources

    We would like to be able to search the Japanese academic common catalog (NACSIS) by Publisher name in Search External Resources, but the corresponding use attribute (1018) is not currently supported. This would be very useful when searching by title or keywords, to differentiate between similar results. We think that this addition would be useful with other external resources too.

  20. Analytics' job history activation

    On Analytics, the job history is not accessible. It would be interesting to give access to this feature, for instance when developing a new report, it is sometimes good to have the history of what has been done. Thanks.
