  1. Closed Library Due Date Management language update

    For the Closed Library Due Date Management policy, the value of "Move Backward-Move to end of previous open day" does NOT accurately describe what this setting actually does for hourly short loans. Why can't the value simply say, "Move due time to upcoming close time" or "Move to end of the same open day". No one is going to WANT to choose to move the due time to the actual PREVIOUS open day...that day is in the past.

  2. Ability to select more than one set to run a job

    I can only select one set when I run a job. As processing shelf reports and adding statuses via the shelf report function, I should be able to run the same job on multiple sets at one time. It's frustrating to have to keeping running the same job over and over for each set.

  3. Scan item: Display Location

    When "scan items" add an option for LOCATION. Different items may go to different areas in the library and will be boxed accordingly. It would be nice to see that location when the item is scanned.

  4. Better distinguish between local portfolios and CZ portfolios in the portfolios list

    When you are working in the portfolios list from the electronic service editor in an activated electronic collection and choose to add portfolios from the Community Zone, the list displays the local house icon for active portfolios and no icon for the inactive ones. However, from the electronic service editor portfolios list, active portfolios display with the CZ (double person) icon. Any local portfolios that you have added beyond the CZ collection display with the local house icon.   5. Hold Shelf Option

    When checking in items that have holds on them, a pop-up should show asking whether or not the item should be placed on the hold shelf. If you say 'Yes' then an email should be sent and the status set to "On Hold Shelf", if you say 'No' then it will go to Hold Shelf Processing. That way you only have to scan once and not have the "Place Directly on Hold Shelf" option confusion.

    Edit: This would be only when using the "Return Items" function.

  6. Run a Job-display task parameters in step 2

    After selecting a job to run at the Run a Job page, the next screen should be the job's task parameters instead of the prompt to choose a set. This change would move the set selection to step 3. This is useful when you don't remember what particular function the job performs. If you see the task parameters at step two, you can verify what the job will do and you can back out if you've made the wrong job selection.   7. POL can support different currency

    Currently, Alma can only support one currency for all POLs in one PO. We would like to Alma can allow POL to use different currency under same PO.

  8. Alma display no longer dims when busy

    Eliminate the dimming of the display when Alma is busy and just use the rotating wheel icon by itself. I have vision problems AND a seizure disorder and the constant dimming and un-dimming of the screen as I work makes it very hard to focus, causes headaches and other problems.

  9. Record Block Expiry Date Editing History

    We’d like Alma to keep track of changes made to Block Expiry Date.

    We sometimes edit and shorten Block Expiry Date when users return books late due to unavoidable circumstances. However, Alma does not keep track of changes made to the Block Expiry Date in the Blocks tab. It would be great if we could review the history of changes made to the Block Expiry Date in the History tab of user record.

  10. We would like an option to search vendors by address/country.

    We would like an option to search vendors by address/country since many of our vendors are from other countries.
    Currently, we have no way of finding all the vendors from a certain country, if it is not part of their name.

  11. Analytics: Make Holding Suppressed from Discovery field values Yes/No instead of 0/1

    The bib "suppressed from discovery" field uses values of Yes/No. The holdings field should do the same.

  12. Pick up Requested Resources "Note"

    When Patrons make comments on Primo, we are unable to see them even when we have "Note" checked and marked out on custom view of "Pick up Requested Resources". If one clicks on more actions on the request...and click edit then see the comment the patron made. However, it would be good to have this show on directly "Pick up Requested Resources view"?

  13. Search List: "All Titles" by "LC Call Number Range"

    Search "All Titles" by LC Call Number Range. Currently you can only do that with physical items, although you can search "All Titles by LC Subject Keyword. Since most/many Electronic items do have LC Call Number in their MARC record 050 _4, I don't see why this is not possible...

    As a collections librarian, it would be very useful.

  14. Allow customers the option to set date parameters for displaying public notes and authentication notes

    We often use public notes and authentication notes to let users know if a particular service is temporarily unavailable or scheduled to undergo maintenance. Direct linking is disabled whenever these notes are present. We then have to remember to go back into Alma and remove these notes when the service becomes available again. It would be much easier if we could schedule these notes to display only during a specified time period (i.e., during the service maintenance window). Ideally, this would also mean that direct linking is only disabled during the period in which the note is "active."

  15. When entering periodicals, I can only choose a precise date under "Issue date". This is not working for all periodicals

    Not all periodicals have precise issue dates. Some are seasonal (like Fall, winter, Spring and Summer), some are by quarters (1st quarter, 2nd quarter...) some have are weekly issues, ... Alma doesn't give the choice for these particular periodicals.

    We need more date options to reflect the issue's period. Even something like Issue date: From X date to Y date, would be more accurate than what the date option actually offered in Alma right now.

  16. Bibliographic item records to have a pop up note when clicked on

    Case - we sometimes loan a set of books to students on a specific module course for short periods and make sure they cant be requested by suppressing them from primo and putting them into a temporary location. It would be helpful if there was a configurable pop-up note on item records. So that when any librarian clicked on the item, they would get a pop-up message and this message was editable. Then user services staff would know that the book needs to be dealt with a specific way. We have tried using the fulfilment note, but this only shows…

  17. Ability to collect and analyze data on number of and frequency of letters sent from Alma

    It would be awesome if there were an option in Analytics to collect and analyze data on the number of and frequency of emails sent from Alma. This will be especially helpful for those institutions that are editing letters and would like to start with the most frequent, patron-facing letters first.

  18. Merge roles and scopes when assigning two profiles to one user

    The paradigm, or model, that we chose for role assignment was to group roles into profiles named for departments. Our profiles have names like Tech Serv Manager Profile, Pub Serv Staff Profile, etc.

    Linda Hall Library has three circ desks. Managers have been given roles which allow them to operate at the appropriate desks (Pub Serv Manager Profile has Circulation Desk Operator configured for Courtesy Desk and Main Circ and Rare Books Manager Profile has Circulation Desk Operator configured for Main Circ and Rare Book Room Circ).   19. Clearly show a patron's home campus when placing requests

    Occasionally we will need to place a 'Patron physical item request' on a title/item on behalf of a patron when all existing copies are unavailable. We'd like to clearly be able to see what a user's home campus is from the 'Create Request' screen after entering the Requesters name. Alternatively, if we were to click on the 'Select from a list' to choose the requester, we are taken to a 'Find and Manager Users' popup. It would be useful to be able to see the patron's campus within a column in this display.

  20. Please fix these concerning mistranslations

    Dear support

    While creating the non-english versions of the powerpoint presentations for SLSP training, I ran into some concerning mistranslations. It almost looks like you used Google Translations to translate the English Terms in Alma to other languages.

    For example, the English homonym "pass" was erroneously translated to "succeed" instead of "go by". This happened while translating to Italian and German (see attachement). I can only imagine how annoying that will be for librarians all over Switzerland when we go live with Alma this coming December.

    I can imagine it's a known issue to the libraries you have been using…
