  1. Use the same terminology in the search box as the field label - Analytics objects list

    In the new Analytics objects list, one of the search field options is "location". It is searching the field labeled "Subject Areas".

    Please use consistent terminology.

  2. Harvest and add Unique item requests to analytics IR_M1 usage reports

    The IR_M1 usage reports come with the metrics: Unique item requests and Total item requests. Currently, Alma only harvests Total item requests, and leave out Unique item requests. So, in Alma analytics, we cannot retrieve the unique item requests statistics, which is more important than Total item requests.

  3. Add Vendor Type to Analytics

    We would like to pull a report that lists vendors by type in analytics. Ex. Access provider, material supplier. This is not currently in analytics. This is a filter in the vendor module in Alma, but we want to pull more complex reports in analytics, such as all vendors listed as a material supplier only that are missing a financial code.

  4. Add Electronic Collection Type (override) to Analytics

    We use the Electronic Collection Type field to keep track of whether we have all portfolios activated (Aggregator Package), only some activated (Selective Package) or none activated (Database). Using an Analytics report we can check these values against our Auto Active Settings and CDI settings to make sure all our settings are in alignment.
    However, there is no Electronic Collection Type (override) field in Analytics so the reports cannot be accurate. We use an override when we have selected a Type that is different from the Type in the CZ collection. It seems like an oversight that this field isn't…

  5. Alma Digital Viewer - Enable/Disable "New Alma Viewer" for representations

    Right now, you can only set rules for when a certain viewer (i.e. Alma Viewer and Universal Viewer) is displayed/not displayed. Specifically in our case, we have unchecked the "Use New Viewer" feature make things cleaner in our interface. However, overtime, another department may begin to use Alma Digital and may want to turn that feature back on (which is better suited for their resources).
    For instance, if we begin to upload image files or digitized newspaper clippings, the New Viewer would work great -- but for other general content, it's not always the best option.

  7. Have Alma/Primo support the ability to account for coverage dates in physical inventory.

    Currently we have a display logic rule in place for articles - so if the item is available in our institution we do not provide a Resource Sharing option for the patron. So - if we do have the item - but not the complete item - (all the dates available) - we need to have the Resource Sharing option available for that patron. The display logic rule doesn't consider coverage dates for the display.   8. OAI publishing profile

    At the moment Alma can have only one OAI publishing profile. However this doesn't always meet customers needs.
    We already have one OAI profile which we use with RapidILL to control books and is restricted to our main library via the set rules. However we have now been asked to set up another OAI profile to link to a service which would use books in two of our other libraries. At the moment this is impossible.
    Could this functionality be added? I imagine it would be of benefit to other Alma users.

  9. Configure the User Services page to include statistical information

    On the User Services page, when we are looking at a user's data, we can see the Notes and some other basic data. It would be interesting to be able to choose which of the user data we want to see here. Specifically, we are interested in including statistical data.

  10. Ability to show special characters in the MDE and the record view screen

    Sometimes, odd characters slip into a bib record that are hard to detect. It would be great if there was an option in the MDE to make them visible. For example, in Notepad++, there are options to show a CR for carriage return, to make spaces and tabs visible, etc. See: https://npp-user-manual.org/docs/views/#show-symbol - it would be nice to have such a functionality in Alma as well, both in the MDE as well as in the view record screen.

  11. Make it possible to activate a portfolio without making the the whole collection active

    I often find portfolios in other collections that I do not have active. I activate it and then move it to our active collection. The collection it was moved from then is in our alma without active portfolios.

  12. Add Statistics note 1-3 to portfolio Note tab

    The portfolio currently doesn't have enough note fields, especially for Statistics and one has to be very creative, combining reports, in order to retrieve something of value to report on.

    We make extensive use of our Statistics note 1-3 fields in the Statistics Notes section of the item record's Notes tab and use Analytics to harvest the data entered in each of these note fields for various reports required for operational and management purposes.   13. Add manual Cost to Portfolios

    Add the ability to assign a cost to a portfolio manually in the case that cost should not be equally distributed for the portfolios in a collection and/or items that were purchased prior to Alma implementation. This cost would need to be used in Cost per use analytics calculations if there isn't a PO Cost for the portfolio

  14. Batch Clear Local Information from Community Zone

    Sometimes local information is added to a portfolio because the community zone updates are still pending. It would be helpful to have the option to clear the local coverage info as a batch process from the Community Zone Updates Task List

  15. "Peer review" indication for academic books

    Currently, there is a limiter in discovery to "Peer-reviewed articles" but using this limiter does not bring results from books even by the most celebrated academic publishers. While this information arrives from vendors, it should be a way to search peer-reviewed publications that would exclude magazines but include both peer-reviewed journals and books (or book chpaters) by any academic press.

  16. Option to restore Temporary Item Policy and Temporary Location when item is returned from Resource Sharing.

    Issue: For items that have a temporary item policy or temporary location there should be a way to revert these temporary statuses when the items are returned from a Resource Sharing loan.
    When items with these temporary designations are loaned via Resource Sharing Alma applies the Resource Sharing temporary statuses. When the items are returned the Resource Sharing statuses are cleared but library staff need to be able to direct items back to their temporary location.   17. The Provenance field in the physical item editor

    We would like the Provenance field in the physical item editor to be mandatory.
    It is possible to have a default for the list but that is not the same thing. We are afraid people will be not so attentive, and the default option will be the one they always choose. We want it to be mandatory and default to nothing. The user then has to choose something in order to save the item.

  18. Physical PO line creation - allow the interested user defined on the PO line to place a title level request when the PO line is created

  19. Streamline PO Line Renewals &

    For PO lines for subscriptions that will be renewed, currently the funding, date, and cost information fields need to be manually changed for each term of the subscription. It would be helpful to be able to duplicate/indicate the new information for each year/term period and retain the old info for analytics/reporting, calculating increases, etc. If rollover functionality were to be added for the funds(s) and dates based on the term details, that would also be fantastic.

  20. renewal reminder

    Is it possible to add the name of the e-collection to the POL renewal reminder email? the current reminder is generic and doesn't have any information in the email to let us know which collection is being renewed. most of the e-collections I have in the network zone, are Electronic Collection -> Subscription. the email reminders are not really helpful without the name.
