  1. Allow the contents of MARC subfield 041 $$h to be considered for Search Index Mapping

    The MARC 21 Bibliographic Tag to Search Index Mapping table (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/040Resource_Management/040Metadata_Management/180Search_Indexes/050MARC_21_Search_Indexes) confirms that the contents of 041 subfields $$a, $$b, $$d, $$e, $$f, $$g, $$j, plus those of the 008 field positions 35-37, map to an advanced search of the Language (Title) index in Alma.

    The contents of 041 subfield $$h ("language code of original"), however, do not. This discriminates against those works which are translated from an original language into the one stipulated in 041 $$a subfield.

  2. Ability to View Fines/Fees Transactions History from Fines/Fees Section of Patron Account

    Currently the Fines/Fees tab of a patron's account shows current or historical fines and fees, and the user has to click on each individual fine to see whether it was paid, waived, etc. It would be helpful to have a Fines/Fees Transactions History in the patron account, where a user could easily view the history of all payments and waives performed on the account by date.

  3. Thumbnail creation function for larger than 500mb video files

    We need the function to create the item thumbnails of the larger than 500mb video files. Most of video type representations created by my institution are over 1~4GB in size but the thumbnails are not automatically created, so staff need to take a screenshot, resize, and manually upload it. High capacity videos are common in this era. Alma should set the capacity limit for related jobs higher, ideally to 5GB.

  4. Customisable per-record merge options in Search Resources

    We would like it to be possible to get external resource searching (Search Resources) to merge only specific fields from a given record.

    By which we mean: when clicking on View to view a record from an external resource, or alternatively when clicking on the elipsis next to a brief result, the options include Copy & Merge.

    The Merge Method which is enacted by selecting Copy & Merge at this point is set on a per-external target basis in Alma's External Resource configuration setting, e.g. the Merge Method for the British Library Integrated Catalogue could be "overlay all fields but…

  5. Display e-ISBN (MARC 020 $a) in e-portfolio repository search results

    Currently the ISBN displayed in e-portfolio repository search results is the print ISBN stored in MARC field 776 $z. Please change to display the e-ISBN stored in MARC field 020 $a, or display both the print ISBN (776 $z) and e-ISBN (020 $a).

    The e-portfolio repository search finds the e-books. In a bib record for an e-book, the e-ISBN is stored in 020 $a, while the print version's ISBN is stored in 776 $z. It just does not make sense to display only the print ISBN, but does not display the e-ISBN in the e-portfolio results.

  6. autofit

    Adding an autofit for columns would help minimize wasted space for those who are comfortable with denser text or need to work with a relatively narrow screen. I think the most common form of the functionality is a double-click on the right border of a column to size it to fit content.

  7. Facilitate entry of data into the resource sharing form from an external source

    Recent user experience testing for our resource sharing service indicated users would like a way to easily paste in data from other websites into the resource sharing form. For example, they would like to harvest the data easily from Google Scholar or another database and enter this into the form without manually copying and pasting each piece of data from one website into the webform. One way this could be accomplished is using a browser extension similar to Leganto's Cite It.   8. Merge & Combine inventory enhancement to allow the records the split screen editor use a drag and drop featuer

    It would be great to have an easy way to change the primary bib record when using "Merge & Combine" in the new MDE. Implementing the ability to drag and drop the bib records in the split screen editor would allow users to more efficiently change which record is on the left-hand side (primary record)and which record is on the right-hand side (secondary record).

  9. Webhook for holdings

    We have webhooks from Alma that can notify an external system when changes to items or bibs happen. We would like to have a webhook for changes to holdings. This would be helpful as we have an offsite storage system and we would like to update it as soon as items are switched to that location in Alma, so that when the items arrive there the external system has that update.

  10. Attach printed letters to user record

    We send our bill notice to a central email account for price checking before sending onto the user.

    Request is for any notice to be added to a users record in the attachment tab, whether it is emailed or sent to print.

    Requestors need to be able to enter a reference or primary access URL to new electronic resource requests. The absence of this field is one reason we have to depend on an external spreadsheet to manage new orders.

    Add a View All tab to the Expired Hold Shelf Items View

    There is no way to view all expired holds on one screen.

    There is a workflow that recommends pulling all the items with expired holds off of the hold shelf and scanning in them in using Fulfillment > Resource Requests > Scan In Items. This action moves the item on to it's next step and had the added benefit of trapping items that have work orders and move requests on them.

    As many serials subscription ranges begin with the next calendar year, add NEXT YEAR as an option in the Subscription Date Range date picker. NEXT YEAR would start 1/1/[NEXTCALENDARYEAR] and end 12/31/[NEXTCALENDARYEAR].

  15. Option to define which library will serve a patron digitization request with priority

    We allow patrons to place digitization requests on print journal articles. For this we use a central digitization department that serves several libraries of the institution. Since the request can be placed on the journal title it often occurs that several libraries could fulfill the request. At the moment the system picks the serving library randomly. Since our central digitization department is located at our central library, it would be extremely helpful, if we could define that items of the central library fulfill the requests with priority.   16. Improve OpenURL generation to remove blanks and duplicates

    Openurls generated could by Alma/Primo be shorted by:

    1. Not sending duplicate parameters.
    2. Not sending empty parameters.

    Background:

    We have noticed that OpenURLs produced by Alma/Primo (which are then sent on to our ILLiad server, which can require redirection to get the patron authenticated) can be VERY long. So long in fact, that they can produce errors for our ILLiad web server. The ILLiad server will end up reporting "Request header is too large", and the user is left with a HTTP Status 400 Bad request error.

    We believe the responsibility here is on the Alma/PRimo side as the urls generated…

  17. Expose 'Export to Worldcat' management tag to Analytics

    We would like to be able to access the 'Export to Worldcat' management tag in analytics, in the same way we can access the 'Suppress from Discovery' management tag. This would allow us to gather records for which the Export tag has been set incorrectly, and use a job to Republish them to OCLC.

  19. Allow expired internal users to reset their password

    Many of our users are allowed to create and renew their patron accounts online using the API. Are users are all internal so they manage renewing their own accounts (we don't rely on 'active students' or the like).

    We would like to add extra user authentication during renewal that requires users to enter their password. Of course many users forget their password and need to reset it before actually renewing. Unfortunately, Alma does not allow users who are expired to reset their password.

    It would be very helpful if we could permit expired users to reset their passwords in order…

  20. Add Shelving Location to "Monitor Requests & Item Processes"

    It would be extremely helpful to have the shelving location show up in the information on the "Monitor Requests & Item Processes" (MR&IP) lists. Neither "Pick from Shelf" (PFS) or MR&IP shows all of the most helpful information when fulfilling requests. The closest for our library's purposes is MR&IP with the only piece of information missing being the shelving location of items. If it could be added as an option or at least show up in the exported Excel sheet as a column that would remove a ton of extra time and labor for our fulfillment processes.
