  1. E-Inventory Import Profile defect - inability to distinguish multiple services

    When setting up an electronic import profile that relies on an electronic collection with multiple services, it is unclear which service I'm selecting. Please correct or "enhance" the obvious defect and make these services distinguishable. One option would be to include the custom description field from the service level.

  2. Run a report of items by fund code in Analytics

    A colleague wanted to know the usage stats for books he had purchased over a certain period of time. This would have been easiest by running a report including items, his fund code, and the relevant fiscal years. This is currently not possible - Dewey range reports inevitably miss some titles.

    Can the Funds Expenditure and Physical Items SAs be made compatible?

  3. Change duplicate icons in MD editor

    In MD editor, the icons for "view bibliographic record" and "view inventory" are identical. Could one of these icons be changed?

  4. Add a safety feature to Delete Bibliographic Record Job to include option "Do not delete if ANY PO Line is attached"

    Currently there is only an option to protect Active PO Lines with this job. Acquisitions staff often place orders on bib records representing multi-volume sets. Cataloging staff then decided to use individual bib records for each volume and want to delete the set record and move POLs to the individual records. It would be very helpful to have this feature in place to protect order information.

  5. Bulk Import Citations

    Sometimes, we get many reserves from our own collection that we will put on for professors.

    It would be great to have a way to create a set, or some other itemized or logical list, to bulk import citations to a reading list. Of course, this would only be citations that exist within our repository.

  7. e-Activation workflow improvements

    It would be very helpful if immediately after adding an electronic portfolio or activating an electronic portfolio from within a list of portfolios in a collection, the user would have the ability to use the "Actions" menu that appears to the right of the portfolio title to create and assign an e-activation task for the portfolio to a user. This would open the dialog box allowing a user to select to whom the task is assigned and create a note about the resource instead of having to go back out to the repository and search for the item then create…

  8. Export URL with FTP

    You can export the URL of Portfolios via Alma Admin -> Resource Management -> REsource configuration -> Configuration Menu -> Record Export -> Export URL
    But you can not do this in a sort of batch job to feed your proxy with this URL automaticly (Case 223210)

  9. Preserve the Expire Date if changed manually

    Similar to how the user group field can be preserved and not overwritten by an update to user data if it has been changed manually, it would be beneficial for the expiry date field to be treated in the same way so that if the date is changed manually it will not be overwritten by a data synchronization. This would allow staff to manage patrons locally within Alma when an external data source is unreliable.

  10. SIS - Save Rejected records in XML format for re-load

    Currently rejected records from the SIS batch upload process are only identified in the event log. It would be very useful if the rejected records were saved to a separate file in XML format. This would allow for easier re-load once the load error is resolved.

  11. Make Brief Levels more visible

    Now that we have defined our local Brief Levels for Alma bib records, it would be very helpful if we could view the Brief Levels more readily. For example, it would be helpful to include the Brief Level as a column in spreadsheets of exported search results. And it would be very helpful to see the Brief Levels in the Receiving work bench to help with initial sorting of incoming material and identifying items most appropriate for rapid cataloging at the point of receipt.

  12. "Acquisition method"

    When creating a "PO Line" would it be possible in the "PO Line Summary" tab to move the "PO Line details" from near the bottom to the top as it actually makes more sense to select the "Acquisition Method" first as it dictates what fields you need to fill in, e.g. "Legal Deposit" means "Pricing" and "Funding" etc. become inactive and are no longer required fields. I know if you use a template it doesn't matter because you it populates that field for you but in terms of workflow it seems backwards.

  13. Set input focus for "Quick Search" box

    Please set the input focus for the "Quick Search" box under these two criteria:

    1) When logging into Alma
    2) When changing the search criteria

    When a user logs in they should be able to type immediately into the Quick Search box and get a result.

    When a user changes the format they want to search (Titles, Collections, Authorities, Vendors, etc). They should be able to click on what they want and start typing.

    In both of these scenarios by moving the mouse (especially #2) the user experience is inefficient.

  14. Send claims for journal issues for providers without EDI

    We have a lot of journal providers for our legal deposit. As they may be associations or other small institution, they don't work with EDI.
    Quite often, we don't receive issues. So we want to send them claims. But these are not sent automatically in Alma for subscriptions.
    We suggest Alma sends claims for issues that haven't been received to the e-mail address defined for the provider (vendor), taking into account the claiming grace period.

    Add ability to automatically check-in certain items to work order department such as laptops and ipads when they are returned to the library. For example, all of our technology items are sent to the technology work order department when they are check-in so they can be wiped clean or previous user's data. We would love the ability to automatically send certain items or items from certain locations to a specified work order department on check-in saving lots of added steps for the access services staff every time a laptop or ipad is checked in.

  16. Option for physical item requesting only items that are checked out.

    In Alma, it seems that in the Terms of Use for requesting, you can only choose requestable and non-requestable. Is it possible to have an option to only request items that are checked out?

Perhaps search options for advance searching in the NZ should not allow physical titles as a search option. Example: condition title= Wyoming, and condition material type= Map in the NZ results in nothing, but there are over 2k hits if searching All titles instead of Physical titles, some of which…

  18. Coordinate the alphabetization of the Letters tables

    Coordinate the alphabetization of the Letter Activity table and the Letter Emails table in configuration, and the letters description table in the OLH. Each table seems to use a different alphabetization scheme (if any at all) which makes it extremely difficult to coordinate configurations or to locate specific letters to customize or review.

  19. Allow Material Supplier, List Price, ISBN and Fund to save when saving orders that have not been sent

    If you are interrupted when creating a PO line, either because you are disturbed or because there are insufficient funds in the budget, Alma saves the information you have already put in. At the moment, it saves the PO line itself but removes the ‘Material supplier’, the ‘List price’ and the ‘Fund’, so that I’m starting off worse than from scratch because two of those three things are already included on my template when I create a PO line anew. If I change the ISBN, this also reverts back when a PO line is saved, and the Reporting Code also…

  20. Add Visual Materials to Quick Cataloging citation types options

    Our library uses the Quick Cataloging tool/interface to create records for materials in course reserves. Currently, the only options for citation types are books and articles. We have DVDs professors place on reserve. When records for DVDs are created, they are created on a record type for book. It would be great to choose citation type "visual materials" at the point of creating the bib record via the Quick Cataloging tool.
