  1. Messages/Email in Alma

    When assigning tasks, bibs, etc. to users in Alma, it would be beneficial to receive a copy of the message that is being sent and/or have a history in your user profile so that you can keep track/proof of messages/assignments sent to people/users.

  2. Enhance SUSHI admin job reports with additional details for troubleshooting purposes

    Are there plans for ExLibris to bulk up the details provided in the admin jobs reports for executed SUSHI requests? The admin reports currently lack any meaningful details that will help with re-formatting/ troubleshooting usage report errors. Manual usage report uploads that fail will list the errors and give the specific columns/ rows that were problematic but the admin job reports provides don't include this information. Instead you have to contact ExLibris Support with the relevant process ID number to get that information which is cumbersome and time-consuming.

  3. Make "Borrowing patron" a customizable option on Scan In Items screen

    When a book is scanned in from the Scan In Items page, there are some options under the Settings gear that be added to display more (or less) information. One of these should be to show the information on the borrowing patron and a link to Manage Fulfillment Activities or the Patron Record. I understand this is an available field on the "Return Items" page. However, there are times when I am scanning in books that I'm not sure if they are signed out or not. If I use the Return Items page I get a pop-up for every book…

  4. MDE menu bar

    Allow customization of the menu bar for the new MDE. Personally I'd add an icon for "view inventory" and a trash can for "delete" These were icons on the old MDE that I used constantly. By making a drag/drop menu bar supervisors could create menu bars for staff based on the tasks. Thank you.

  5. Enable the ability to make an item missing that has a process type

    In order to mark an item 'missing' it currently has to have a status of 'item in place'. However, many items that have a status of 'item not in place' need to be marked as missing. If an item gets lost in transit from one library to another or has a process type of technical migration and cannot be found, those items need to be marked as missing.

  6. Allow multiple time zones for institutions with campuses in different time zones

    We are currently implementing Alma, and have been staggered to learn that we are only allowed one time zone as our default. We understand that (it seems) most Alma institutions only have the one time zone, but in our case we have two different time zones - and one of them has a period of daylight savings every year, so that adds to the complication.

    We can't see how Alma will be functional for us with Fulfillment and the like, if we can't allow both our east and west coast campuses to have their own time zones in place when…

  8. Make Digital representation metadata indexed for searching in Primo

    During our current implementation of Alma Digital, we have noticed that the representation metadata is not indexed for searching in Primo. We would like this to be possible so that users are able to search using details from the representation details such as chapter title.

    Product management responded hat - The model of partial / special representations (such as chapters, issues, audio tracks etc) is designed for a multi-part entity, adding representation-level details, such as chapter numbers. However – these additional details aren’t catalogued in Primo but mainly designed to allow filtering or sorting of representations in the viewIt service.

  9. Analytics - 028 Publisher's number

    Currently, the 028 field (Publisher or Distributor Number) is not a reporting option in Analytics. It would be extremely beneficial to the music and video community to have this field provided as an option in reports, both in the physical items and e-inventory subject areas. For music and videos, this field can be as important as the ISBN is to books. Yes, libraries can add this field as a local Param option, but many libraries have already maxed out the bibliographic 10 local param options.

    For a bether overwiev show the note addedd in collection service also under Edit collection. Saves a lot of work.

  12. Include identifier fields in Export Job Reports, not just names

    Export Electronic Portfolios should have unique identifier fields included in exported report.

    As a specific example, the portfolio report includes Electronic Collection Name information, but no other identifier for the Collection Name. In order to use this with other reports generated from the system, it's not possible to match reliably when using the Name string as names appear to change in the CKB over time, and extended characters can be problematic when importing to other systems (excel, access).   13. Limit use of material types by specific library

    The list of material types used across our consortium is very long. Even though we have turned off those that we don't use, we still have a list of about 65. For most of our libraries, this is overkill, as locations like our Chemistry library only use 4 or 5 at most. Catalogers have to use the full list, which increases the chance of confusion or clicking on the wrong thing for even straightforward cataloging.   14. More Options for Sorting in Pick from Shelf List

    It would be really helpful to be able to sort items in the Pick from Shelf list by date. The facets are somewhat helpful, but sorting by date would make it more clear which requests have come in more recently today, for institutions that are monitoring requests as they come in during the day.

    Sorting by some of the other facets would probably also be helpful when you don't want them filtered out, just sorted: location, pickup institution, material type, etc.

  15. Set preferred SMS default to "Yes"

    When adding users manually in Alma the phone number has a parameter called "Preferred SMS" which is automatically set to "No". It controls whether Alma sends SMS' to the patron or not. It can only be changed after the profile is first saved. Hence it is ease to forget to toggle this setting.

    We would like to have the option to choose the default setting for Preferred SMS, or the option to toggle this setting before saving on the "Quick User Management" registration form.

  16. Configure paired libraries to have own Discovery Widget in Alma

    We have two libraries and would like to have the Discovery Widget visible on Alma's initial page based on own libraries collection. When I go to Configuration Menu > Discovery > Display Configuration > Configure Views, 2 libraries are listed. If I select my own library, my own library discovery widget becomes the default to both libraries. We'd like each library to have their corresponding collection on the Discovery Widget.

  17. API conf/sets - Always add member/@link

    Currently not all calls to conf/sets will return member-elements with links. This will make a call to e. g. electronic portfolios close to useless, as there is no API-call that can be done with the portfolio's ID only.

    Ceterum censeo I don't think that this is an enhancement, but Case 00874282 was not interpreted as this being a bug.

  18. Attachments to Patron Welcome Letter

    It would be useful to be able to attach files to Patron Welcome Letter, e.g. library rules and privacy notice as pdf.

    They are too long texts to be added in letter itself but important to be delivered to the new patrons. To be able to send them automatically to new patrons with welcome letter would save paper work and time at customer service desk.

  19. Link from Digital Uploader to Job History

    When I've loaded recorded and files via the digital uploader I generally want check that the import profile has run correctly. It would reduce the number of clicks needed to do this if there was a link to monitor jobs from the Digital Uploader page - especially when testing loads I'm having to repeat the action many times.
