  1. Allow Jobs to Accept CSV files

    There are many instances where we would like to run a job like the change physical items job for a list of barcodes where the variable is not the same for each barcode. For example, I'd like to add provenance codes to a list of barcodes, but each barcode could have one of 15 different codes. So it would be great to be able to upload a CSV or TSV with two columns - one with barcode and one with the provenance code for that barcode.

  2. Batch deleting PO's

    There is currently no system job to delete PO's. These have to be done manually using the Acquisitions>Purchase Order>Delete PO function individually in ALMA.

    We have 1000's of old orders migrated from our legacy system that are no longer required. We also now only keep 7 years worth of orders in line with current financial practice and so would like to be able to set a job to batch delete at rollover into the new fiscal period.

  3. Query to patron letter: add the publication date for Document delivery requests

    We’d like to display the publication date in the Query to patron letter also for DD requests. Now we can display the date in the letter only for ILL requests.

  4. Back button in new MD Editor

    Please add a Back button to the new MD Editor. This is necessary in the Relink item records to another bib record process. When we create a new holdings record in the middle of the relink process, the Back button allows us to go back to the relink process, and finish up. Details, please refer to Salesforce case # 909005.

  5. Note in pop-up requester card in Borrowing requests

    We have certain patrons with special conditions (e.g. they can't use ebooks) that we need to know about when we're putting through Borrowing requests. We keep a record of these in a spreadsheet, but this wastes a lot of time for staff.

    I would like to see notes in patron records display in the Requester information pop-up card in Borrowing requests. This will make it a lot easier for staff to manage these requests.

  6. Making Copy to Community / Network / Institution configurable

    When searching for authoritiy records, there are options to copy an authority to Network or to Community or even to the Institution zone.

    We understand there may be institutions and consortia administrating different kind of vocabularies at different levels, but this is not the case for all. We see in our consortium too many mistakes due to catalogers selecting the wrong button when importing a record. We therefore strongly suggest making all these options configurable, so that it will be possible to hide the buttons.

  7. Monitor and view imports

    In Alma, imports that come into the system can be available to monitor and view in two different but almost identical areas:

  9. Service is free?

    Alma currently allows only two choices for the selection "Service is free?"; free and not free. But there are new business models available in publishing that need to be recorded. Subscribe to open is both free and not free, for example. Alma should allow more choices to identify publish and read, membership, subscribe to open, and other publishing business models and to support library management of resources.

  10. Allow bulk assigning of invoices

    Currently you have to go through invoices individually and assign them to yourself or to someone else. A bulk assign option would save a lot of time and make processing much easier.

  11. Add a dedicated privilege to control the appearance of the "Change Vendor in Order" functionality.

    This idea was submitted on behalf of the Product management team as we would like to understand the need and use cases of the need described below- any comment is welcome.

    Currently, accessing the "Change Vendor in Order" process / job is linked to the privilege: BASICPOPOLINEMNG

    This privilege is assigned for the following two roles
    Purchasing Operator
    Purchasing Manager

    The suggested idea is to create a new privilege: CHANGEVENDORJOB (or similar), which controls the access to the Change Vendor in Order process / job.

  12. Merge/overlay authority records

    The merging/overlaying functionality is not currently available for Authority records in Alma.
    It would be very useful, especially in a cooperative cataloguing environment as SBN, where we operate; as a matter of fact, we do not use ready-made bibliographic records prepared by a national agency, but every library contributes to the general national catalogue.

  13. Digitization Slips to automatically print

    We would like for the digitization slips to automatically print upon scan in of an item (like the slips print for Hold requests).

    At the moment it can be manually printed but we would like an opt in to automatically print.

    Our workflow is:

    Item placed on pick list, collected from shelf.
    Item Scan In
    If a hold, slip printed
    If a digitization, no slip, even if automatic print is ticked yes.

  14. Fulfillment Administrator in Read Only but Box option to Configure all library calendar

    It would be great to just have the option in Fulfillment Administrator role to Configure Institution calendar and all library calendar activating box option even for Read Only enabled.

  15. Converted from hold request needs adding to Resource Sharing Borrowing Request Subject Area

    We are currently trying to get statistics of Scan and Send requests that we have completed. Over 121 of these requests where converted into Resource Sharing Borrowing Request. However, it is difficult to find out how many of the 121 request that were converted have then been completed by RS. It would be good if a column was created for the Resource Sharing Borrowing Request subject area to show whether a request was converted from a Digitization or a hold request. So we can create a report that shows the lifecycle of these types of requests.

  16. Create formatting for easily readable printing/PDF of Reading Lists and Pick from shelf lists

    Our reserves team would greatly benefit from having a printable or downloadable PDF option of a full reading list. Currently, you can export the list to an excel sheet, but this is not easily readable or convenient for printing/otherwise storing data from past semester's requests. Additionally, it would be excellent if a similar option were available in Pick from Shelf. To pull items now, we need a printed sheet for each book, which is wasteful and redundant.   17. Click through multiple item records to view and edit

    When multiple items are attached to a single holdings record, currently there does not appear to be a way to click directly from one item to the next. Instead, we must click out of each item record viewed, go back to the list, and click into an new one. Having the ability to click directly through the list would help greatly when we need to check through the items for consistency in a field, for example. Additionally, the ability to edit while clicking directly through, in case an error is discovered, would be very helpful and reduce the number of…

  18. Limit overdues notices to a particular user group

    We want to send out overdues notices to some user groups but not others. It would be useful if we could limit the letters or notices to be send only to selected user groups.

    At the moment if overdues notices are switched on, all user groups receive the overdues notices. Ideally, User group A receives an overdues notice but User group B does not.

  20. CDI labels in Alma to be more clear and user friendly

    User Story - Our staff are confused when using CDI and would like clearer label, so they understand where to enabled something or not.
    We would prefer the labels to be changed to more ‘symptom based diagnosis’ wording. So it would be clear for CDI operators. We have left 'CDI-only full text activation' blank, because he is still not sure what this option is for. In our example we have only given suggested wording. We are happy for this to be different, as long as the labels are more clear and user friendly about what the functions do.
