  1. Record all changes to an Electronic Collection in the History tab, by user or System and the change made

All changes to be recorded in the Electronic Collection History tab, including the user account or System making the change and what was changed.

Currently there are many "System" changes only recording the Modification Date by Old Value of the previous last change and the New Value of the date of change.

But there is no information as to what was changed.

I am not going to provide examples of what should be changed and risk only those changed being done, as simply everything should be recorded. This is the purpose of a History log.

  2. Enable 'School' address to be used for Personal Delivery

Currently, only addresses of the 'Home' and 'Office' Address Types can be used for Personal Delivery. Consequently, we can't use Personal Delivery and have to rely on a local workaround instead.

We would like to see 'School' addresses usable for Personal Delivery, with options in the Request Terms of Use to enable us to show only the Address Types that we use and therefore that we want our users to be able to see. E.g. we use 'Home' and 'School' but not 'Office', so we don't want our users to be able to choose that option.

    Also, when the request…

  3. Create ACS eBooks Collection 2024

I'd like ExLibris to create a CZ collection for "ACS eBooks Collection 2024" so that we can activate the content and make it available to our users via our discovery layer.

  4. Remove MARC Relator terms ($e) from Author and Author (Contributor) fields (1XX/7XX) in Analytics

The Author and Author (Contributor) fields in Bibliographic Details in Alma Analytics are mapped from several subfields in MARC fields 100/110/111 and 700/710/711, respectively, including subfield e. But subfield e should not be included in the Author and Author (Contributor) mapping because it is not part of the author name. It is instead a separate element that denotes the relationship between the named author/contributor and the work, the Relator. Thus the $e value may vary or be absent from records although the author/contributor is the same, making it impossible to search upon, identify, and unite author/contributor names in Analytics. Any…

  5. Commitment to retain blocked by location

The commitment to retain functionality is really great for managing shared print collections, but not all physical locations should be eligible for retention commitments. For example, there are certain locations that might hold rented/leased material or material that the library cannot commit to retaining long term. Items in those locations should not present those fields. Can that be added to physical item configuration?

  6. Browse Shelf Listing - straight to edit!

If you click on a record in the list that appears when clicking Browse Shelf Listing (Alt+C) while in MDE, the record immediately opens in MDE for editing. This is not necessary and confusing because for example when you click on a record after clicking Find Matches (Ctrl+M) you get the option of View or Edit. Same should apply to Browse Shelf Listing (Alt+C)

  7. Ability to exclude Primo Journal Search from display logic rules

We would like the ability to exclude the Journal Search function from display logic rules.
    Why?
In the Primo view the limit of links is set to 25, and it cannot be reduced (which deserves another Idea....). The only way to reduce it is through the user of display logic rules.
However, the rules also apply to the "Journal Search" in Primo, where users actually want to see all the available full text due to differences in coverage.

  8. Improve E-Resource Activation Task handling for additional copy ebook orders

Currently when an additional copy of an already active ebook is ordered, there is no e-resource task added to the Electronic Resource Activation Task List, since the resource is already active. However, we add interested users to almost all of our ebooks, and if there is no activation task, the interested users are never being notified.

If the ebook order is already on an active item, it would be nice if the interested users would automatically be notified, or just have an e-resource activation task added as normal to fulfill the process of notifying the interested users.

  9. "Do not show as Full Text available in CDI even if active in Alma" for article records

We were informed by Ex Libris that the "Do not show as Full Text available in CDI even if active in Alma" CDI field does not work on articles. As this feature can already impact the discoverability of CDI records in Primo, it would be great if it could be formally developed so it behaves more predictably and less unexpectedly. When selecting "Yes" for "do not show as full text available in CDI even if active in Alma", we are still seeing CDI article records appear in Primo.

  10. Send email from the pol to the interested user?

    Acquisitions
Sometimes we receive a response from a supplier that we want to communicate to the interested user: the high price, or the offer of another edition, etc.
We think it would be interesting to be able to communicate this information to the user without having to leave the POL. Also the information would reach the user with the POL information to which reference is made.

  11. “Run a job” and “Create itemized set” should be available from the list of Purchase order lines

When you are in a list of items on a bibliographic post in Alma you have the option to checkmark several items and choose “Manage selected” – “Run a job” or “Add to itemized set”/”Create itemized set”. Now that we have the list “All PO Lines” and can checkmark POLs in the list, it would be practical for these options to also be available for PO lines. Currently you only have the option of creating a logical set (if you add filters to the list) from the list “All PO Lines”. This would make it easier and quicker to run…

  12. Death of a patron - Need to immediately and permanently cease sending all letters

In the unfortunate event that we learn that a patron passes away, we need a quick, clear, and finite procedure to immediately and permanently cease/stop any and all IZ and NZ notifications to the patron's email account, especially those that are tied to a SIS load (Example: Banner). College administration directs the library to ensure no emails are sent to the deceased's email account. We need to be able to definitively state to college administrators "Absolutely zero communications, automated or manually generated, will be sent regarding the deceased patron's library account from the IZ or NZ."

    Existing work-arounds include toggling…

  13. Resource Sharing visible in Primo even if the user aren't logged in

When we started using the Resource Sharing form in Primo we noticed that it's only visible for users that are logged in. It would be preferable to at least have the option to make the button for Resource Sharing to be visible even for user that haven't logged in yet. A solution would be that a prompt for logging in would appear either when you click on the button or when you press send. We are afraid that many users will miss the option to order resource sharing because they haven't logged in yet.

  14. Change e-mail sender address for Collection Contribution Letter

We have observed that Alma sends a “Collection Contribution Status Letter” for CZ contributions, which is different from the ones we can configure in our IZ letter administration. The letter that Alma sends comes from the “Alma Community Zone”, which prevents us from modifying any labels, HTML or sender addresses for these letters. This causes an issue for us because the e-mail sender is set to the Ex Libris’ default non-valid e-mail address “your.department@organization.com”. This sender address is flagged and filtered by our campus wide spam detection software.

We do not require a personalized or customizable sender address,…

  15. Batch editing and deleting invoices

There is currently no way to batch delete invoices. Old invoices can be an issue when it comes to deleting POLs. For those of us with thousands of invoices to delete, it would be extremely helpful to have a batch delete option.

Additionally, a job to set invoices back to review (in bulk) would be very helpful.

  16. Make the amount of a user account's TOTAL outstanding fees a feature in the Fines/Fees Notification Profiles

Presently, the amount-for-user-limit in the Fines/Fees Notification Profiles targets only those accounts with fees of the selected trigger fee type(s) that are all - BY THEMSELVES - in a certain range, let's say between 1 and 25 Euros. We want to be able to select fees of a certain fee type and a certain creation period to trigger a notification, but ONLY, if the TOTAL SUM of outstanding fees amounts to a certain sum. Thus, we could decide to send letters to heavily indebted accounts and e-mails to accounts that owe not much.

A second, immensely helpful improvement of the…

  17. Flag individual articles in Alma as being unavailable.

ExLibris cannot verify accuracy between supplied metadata and a referenced database. As a result, there are times when an article is listed in Primo as available online; However, when the patron tries to retrieve the article, the database returns a not found error. This has been frustrating for our patrons.
Currently there is no way to flag an individual article as being unavailable. As a result, this becomes a recurring error for our patrons; with no option to correct.
    Suggest providing a way to:
    1. flag individual articles as available / not available by database
    2. date and notes on…

  18. Add Lender/Borrower addresses to Label code table in select Fulfillment and Resource Sharing letters

Fulfillment letters and Resource Sharing related letters would benefit from having an easy mailing label field, to be toggled on and off in the “Labels” section for letter editing when a Library would like to add a mailing label to a letter.

With collaboration from our Alliance colleagues, we created a shipping label directly on our Ful Resource Sharing Request letter. When we print our pull slips, a second page is automatically generated with a printed mailing label with the Borrowing Schools address information, along with information to allow our mail room to expense it to the correct fund. By…

  19. Display logic rules: always allow use of "OPEN_ACCESS" criteria

Currently, if Alma's enableopenaccessservicesfromunpaywallapi Fulfillment setting = true, then in Display Logic Rules we gain the ability to write rule criteria that considers the presence of open access service links. If the fulfillment setting = false, that DLR option disappears.
We assume this connection was made at a time when the Unpaywall API setting was the only way that OA services might get into Primo, so there was no need for OA services to be a criteria in DLRs when the Unpaywall API was turned off.
However, we've found that the new Unpaywall CZ…

  20. User Record Templates

It would be great if the library could create "templates" for different types of user records that automatically fill in things like the User Group and that have different required fields depending on the type of template. This would make it easier for staff to create user records on the spot.
