  1. Allow ability to configure "Release all records of another cataloger" in the MDE

    In the MDE, there is an option under "Record actions" where a user can release all records of another user. When selected, all Alma users are listed and anyone with a Cataloger role can release all records that are in use by any Alma user. We would like to see this being customizable, to ensure that a user doesn't inadvertently release all records for another user as these records could be still being reviewed, needing to be worked on, etc.

  2. Add printable shelf list functionality to MDE 'Browse Shelf Listing'

    There is a need for a convenient Shelf List tool for libraries to conduct inventory / shelf reading projects for physical items. A logical place for this would be the Browse Shelf Listing function of the Metadata Editor. What's needed is the ability to enter a range of beginning and end call numbers, and make the result set printable from that screen.

  3. Add the Override Return Date and Time option to Individual Returns from Patron Services (rather than just from the Bulk Returns page)

    The current (11/2021) Returns tab in Manage Patron Services does not display an option for Override Return Date and Time.

    Please add cross-functionality so that the override can be performed from this screen in addition to its current location in the bulk Return Items function.

    In this way, a single item can be returned with the corrected date (preventing a letter being issued for overdue fines) without having to specifically route in through the Return Items function, which is listed in documentation as being suited for bulk returns.

  4. Auto-assigning PO lines to specific users

    We think it would be helpful to be able to have PO lines automatically assigned to specific users based on particular features of the PO line (like total cost, fund code, reporting code, material type, etc.). For example, if one staff user always handles the purchasing of physical monographs and another staff user always handles the purchase of electronic monographs, it would streamline the process if the system could automatically assign the PO lines to the correct users based on those conditions (perhaps with a rules list).

  5. shortcut for "Write to RFID and save"

    Dear Ex Libris
    There is already a shortcut for reading RFID tags (Alt+A) when scanning in an item.
    It would be very helpful and speed up processes, if there was also a shortcut for "Write to RFID and save" in the physical item editor for quick tagging items.

  6. Add in the electronic portfolio section the search field by: parser parameter, parser parameter (override), static url.

    Añadir en la sección de portafolio electrónico el campo de búsqueda por: parámetro analizador, parámetro analizador (ignorar), url estática.

    Esto con la finalidad de identificar un portafolio electrónico por su código identificador asignado por la misma base de datos de esta manera nos permitirá identificar rápidamente el título eliminado o agregados en nuestra colección.

  7. Display resource sharing request limit on user record

    When a resource sharing limit is set, display the current number of requests a user has placed in the last academic year. We have users getting failed requests due to hitting the limit, this would make it much easier to troubleshoot.

  8. Auto-tick Notify User box in Request Cancellation dialogue on Alma

    Is there a way to set the ‘notify user’ box within the Request Cancellation dialogue box (Alma) to auto-tick by default? At the moment, the box is blank and we would like to set it up to tick by default so that user notifications don’t accidentally get missed.

    The box is within the Request Cancellation dialogue box where you enter the cancellation reason and notes.

  9. Display note/comment field and requestor information in Alma Mobile

    It would be very helpful to have the note/comment field from requests display in Alma Mobile, particularly useful if the note/comment directly effects how, why, when, etc. the item is pulled.
    It would also be helpful to have the requestor information (ie their name) display in Alma Mobile, especially if multiple patron requests are being fulfilled at one time and/or they are pre-pulled items that just need to be filed on a hold shelf.

  10. Additional Input Parameter Options for Item Description Templates

    When creating an Item Description Template it would be very helpful to include additional Input Parameter options such as Permanent Physical Location. We utilize different description orders on our labels dependent upon the different locations items are shelved and there doesn't seem to be a way to distinguish the differing order with the current parameter options. More input parameter options would allow for greater individual institutional nuances and their unique practices.

    For example, I could have an unclassed serial shelved in "serials" with material type issue and I want the description to display as:
    v.{EnumA} no.{EnumB} {ChronI} {ChronJ}

  11. Ability to combine two or more existing items into a kit without losing POL information

    If there's a way to do this, I can't find it.
    What I would like to have is to take existing/previously received items (presumably with their own barcodes) and then combine them under one barcode as a kit. In theory, you can use "Bond Items" to do this, but the problem is that you effectively lose your POL receiving info (as well as all other individual item info) from the combined items. In my organization's case, this can cause an issue for the auditing department if the is a question or issue involving one of the merged items since there…

  13. Add 689 Field in the Browsing Names (without MARC21 600/610/611) and Subjects (with MARC21 600/610/611)

    Browsing Names (without MARC21 600/610/611) and Subjects (with MARC21 600/610/611) are currently not supported for 689 fields.
    But as Alma provides support for German MARC cataloging with the 689 field, we ask for this field to be supported in the new index
    The headings links are based on how the 689 field maps to the standard 6XX field. The mapping is identified as follows:

  14. Make the Send Message emails more customisable

    Today it is possible to send messages to individual users from the General Information tab on the User Details screen, but the functionality is very basic. To be truly useful it should be possible to create your own templates and to customise them the same way we can customise Alma Letters. Without the usual letter components, such as a header with the institution logo, which are present in other Alma letters, the messages look unprofessional and can easily be mistaken as spam.   15. Allow automatic barcode generation in quick cataloguing form from Manage Patron Services

    The quick cataloguing form has a variant depending on whether you access it through Fulfillment > Manage Patron services > loan tab > create item or through Resources > add a physical item.

    In the first case (Fulfillment > Manage Patron services etc.), quick cataloguing is used in the case where a document is presented for loan but does not exist in the database. The barcode is then obligatory for loan, otherwise loan is not possible. The barcode cannot be automatically created.

  16. Allow patron to create "Alias" that prints to Ful Hold Shelf Request Slip Letter

    When item that has a request is returned at the circulation desk, a Ful Hold Shelf Request Slip Letter is printed. There is a Patron name on the Print.
    There should be a possibility for a Patron to choose an "Alias" (Name or Number) that would be printed to the Letter.

    This could be an Address -field that patron can update in Primo. Then it would be printed to the slip letter.

  17. marking & emailing ALMA Records

    having the ability to mark and email records in ALMA. this is available in PRIMO but not ALMA.

    if one is looking at circulation data, only available in ALMA, then makes a decision, e.g. to have the material withdrawn, one can't email the record to others who would pull the material.

    one can use both but this is inefficient. one can use analytics but this inefficient for dealing with just one or a small number of records.

    one can also use it for reporting cataloging problems. our experience is that technical services uses ALMA and public services uses PRIMO.

  18. List of Home Delivery Request to print labels and inform courier company

    We manage a big number of home delivery requests. Alma does not allow you to create a list of loans of home delivery to print labels and send the list to the courier company.

    The only way to do it is the day after by Analytics or developing a custom solution using webhooks and users API, to have it the same day.

    It is necessary to make a list of patrons name, address, zip code, city, telephone and email address to print labels and create a csv file to be imported to the courier company software.

  19. Make address fields one of the searchable fields in user searches

    Addresses on a patron record (at least the preferred address fields) need to be a searchable field in the universal search box on the dashboard.
    We often find a need to on the fly find all the patrons who might come from a particular address.

  20. Create option to keep CZUTL deleted portfolios active in Institution Zone

    When portfolios are deleted from a non-auto-active electionic collection and notifications for this appear in the Community Zone Updates Task List, the portfolios stay unlinked in your institution zone but are deactivated. Often these are portfolios that represent access that still exists for the institution and we merely reactivate the local portfolio. We would like to be able to select an option to keep these portfolios active in our institution zone. If they are really no longer necessary, we can delete them when we review the CZUTL, but it would save us time if the portfolios were not deactivated automatically.
