  1. Identifying info of returning patron visible when scanning in items

    When items are returned/scanned in I often want to know who the borrower was for various reasons (a personal book was accidentally included and I want to contact borrower, a book was damaged and I want to contact borrower etc).

    There is currently no option to add any columns related to borrower information. So if I want to find out who just returned an item I have to: row action > edit item > history > fulfillment activities

  2. Add the option to display the Description as a Column in Alma User Accounts, in Loans and Returns

    In Loans and Returns of a User Account, the Description is only available by hovering over the title, with the hover display including the Description and Call Number, despite that Call Number also has its own column.
    We did not even realise the Description was available by hovering until submitting a case, as it is not documented.
    Use case: We have had recent situations where users approach our staff to discuss volumes of a work, we find they have several volumes of the same title loaned, and we must painstakingly hover over each title and work our way down the…

  3. Bulk Recall by Staff

    Currently in ALMA, an item can only be recalled by request. While we do not allow our patrons to recall items from other patrons, we do, on occasion, need to recall items from patrons for course reserves.

    It appears that there is no way, either with the Scan in Items feature, or by uploading an excel spreadsheet, to indicate by barcode a number of items that need to be recalled, submit the recall, and truncate the due date of the patrons to which those items are currently loaned.

    If we could have a functionality like this that not only recalls…

  4. An 'All returns' option in Manage Patron Services

    We'd like to be able to configure the Returns screen in Manage Patron Services to show 'All Returns' as well as 'Returns this session', in the same way you can set the Loans screen to 'rememberlastloan_display' on Fulfillment config 'Other Settings'. Checking on a patron's return history requires an extra click, which constantly annoys staff!

  6. Create a loan period that rounds reserves to the nearest hour

    Rounding to the nearest hour with reserve loans makes it easier for the user to remember the time due to avoid fines. On the staff side, it is easier to manage bookings/holds.

  8. Create exceptions for "Closed Library Due Date Management" Settings

    We want to create exceptions for the "closed due date management" setting in our TOUs based on events in the calendar. For example, for single day exceptions such as for holiday closed dates like 4th of July, Memorial Day, etc., we want items due AFTER the exception, but for our month long winter break, we want everything due before the break begins so we can update our equipment and complete inventory over the break.   9. In Fulfillment Notes - Can the text of the actual Note be larger than the accompanying text?

    The text of the Note in Fulfillment Notes is smaller and less attention getting than the surrounding text, e.g.; "Are you sure you want to perform this action?"
    It would be easier to find and process if the text were larger than the surrounding text.

  10. Enable filtering by library when patrons use multiple libraries

    Our readerss use more than one library in our institution. When I look at their borrowing record, it shows me all their loans, which in some cases might be 50+. Why can't we filter so it just shows me what they've got from our library?

  11. Allow Personal Delivery to be fulfilled from any library circ desk

    Scenario: When an item belonging to another library that has an active home delivery request is returned or scanned in at another library's circulation desk, the item is put in transit to the owning library for the request to be fulfilled. The home delivery request should be fulfilled from any loans desk regardless of which library the item belong to.
    We are multi campus institution with libraries 100s of kms apart. We require the personal delivery requests to be fulfilled from any of our libraries, instead having to return the items to the owning library.
