  1. Link related user records

    We would like the ability to link user records in a primary dependent manner. This would allow use to identify and remove dependent records when a primary record is identified for deletion. This might be as simple as text box on the general tab. Reason:
    Some patrons have borrowing privileges because of their relationship to an authorized patrons in our system. Faculty spouse have privileges because of the faculty member. When the faculty leaves we need to identify these dependent records to delete them also. In other systems these are known as family records.

  2. Save and Continue button on User Record screen

    It would be really useful to have a 'Save and Continue' button when updating user information as edits can easily be lost if the user record closes (timeout). It would also mean that you could save the changes for one tab at a time.

  3. SIS user integration, automatic primary ID generation: prefix + sequence

    Allow automatic primary ID generation for SIS user sync integration simular to when adding a patron from the patron identification page in the Alma BO: Configured prefix + sequence. (Now automatic generation in SIS is only possible as: first name + last name + sequence)

  4. lock fields in patron records

    A problem we have is that when Alma imports updated patron data from the University's Central Registry database -- via an integration profile -- it can overright values that should not be overwritten for certain groups of patrons.

    What we require is the ability to lock fields in patron accounts so that they cannot be overwritten.

  5. Custom Notifications

    To send an automatic email notification to users when a certain value appears in their user details.

    Like when a student has met graduation criteria, Alma will see this criteria in their user details and send an email to the student automatically to ask them to pay their outstanding fines.

    In general, it would be good if Alma trigger automatic procedures based on the existence of certain values or triggers in the user details.

  6. Make the Send Message emails more customisable

    Today it is possible to send messages to individual users from the General Information tab on the User Details screen, but the functionality is very basic. To be truly useful it should be possible to create your own templates and to customise them the same way we can customise Alma Letters. Without the usual letter components, such as a header with the institution logo, which are present in other Alma letters, the messages look unprofessional and can easily be mistaken as spam.   7. Make address fields one of the searchable fields in user searches

    Addresses on a patron record (at least the preferred address fields) need to be a searchable field in the universal search box on the dashboard.
    We often find a need to on the fly find all the patrons who might come from a particular address.

  8. Internal data and all non-fulfillment data deleted from external account when accounts are loaded from external system through API

    Updating users from an external source (such as Banner) using the API means that any non-fulfillment information will be deleted such as Roles (the only role left is the Patron role), barcodes, alternate addresses, emails, phone numbers, fines/fees, blocks, attachments, proxy information.

    Would it be possible to make sure that an account's update from Banner through the API only affects the fields supported by Banner without wiping off any other fields?

  10. Allow for including a block note when batch adding blocks through run a job

    Blocks can currently be added to a set of users through the Update/Notify User job; however, a note cannot be included. When placing holds manually, the option exists to include a note. When the note is essential to the block, we currently have to enter each block manually instead of using the job. Including the ability to enter a note in the batch job would save an immense amount of staff time.

  11. Display all roles on a user's record at the same time

    Only 20 roles display at a time on a user's record.

    For users with more than 20 roles assigned to their record, give the option to display all roles at the same time.

    If you edit a role to add a desk, and that role exists on page 2 of the role list, it will "refresh" the display so that you're back on page 1 of the role list. You then have to scroll down the record and page forward again if you want to go back to the place you were.

  12. Ability for Alma Administrators to create special menu bars for staff users.

    It would be nice for our Alma Administrators to have some control over what each staff member sees on their menu bar or at least to be able to hide the configuration wheel from non-administrators. This would prevent some confusion staff members have when seeing options they do not have the privileges for, then telling us "it's not working." It would also allow us to create more simplified views for our student workers. Accidental menu customization done by staff is another problem we have. We have to try to figure out what they did in order to get their menu…

  13. Letter specifically for Account Deactivation

    Imagine graduating and having your account deactivated as is normal, but instead of discovering that the account doesn't work when you go to use it one day, you get an email proactively that shares resources that the library makes available for alumni or others whose status has substantially changed. A letter triggered on account deactivation can make this a standard process with controled language and up-to-date resource suggestions.

  14. Clarify user details contact info created by and created date

    In case #00711507 Rachel helped us discover that when a patron is toggled from external to internal the values in the "Created By" field for the contact information change to the user who toggled the patron but the "Created date" does not change from it's original value. The result is the "Created By" and "Created Date" don't match which causes confusion.

    Perhaps when updating the "Created By" when the patron is toggled the "Created Date" could also be updated.

  15. Record Block Expiry Date Editing History

    We’d like Alma to keep track of changes made to Block Expiry Date.

    We sometimes edit and shorten Block Expiry Date when users return books late due to unavoidable circumstances. However, Alma does not keep track of changes made to the Block Expiry Date in the Blocks tab. It would be great if we could review the history of changes made to the Block Expiry Date in the History tab of user record.

  16. Merge roles and scopes when assigning two profiles to one user

    The paradigm, or model, that we chose for role assignment was to group roles into profiles named for departments. Our profiles have names like Tech Serv Manager Profile, Pub Serv Staff Profile, etc.

    Linda Hall Library has three circ desks. Managers have been given roles which allow them to operate at the appropriate desks (Pub Serv Manager Profile has Circulation Desk Operator configured for Courtesy Desk and Main Circ and Rare Books Manager Profile has Circulation Desk Operator configured for Main Circ and Rare Book Room Circ).   17. Allow expired internal users to reset their password

    Many of our users are allowed to create and renew their patron accounts online using the API. Are users are all internal so they manage renewing their own accounts (we don't rely on 'active students' or the like).

    We would like to add extra user authentication during renewal that requires users to enter their password. Of course many users forget their password and need to reset it before actually renewing. Unfortunately, Alma does not allow users who are expired to reset their password.

    It would be very helpful if we could permit expired users to reset their passwords in order…

  18. bulk deletion of attachment

    It would be very useful to be able bulk delete or archive-off a Patron's attachments, regardless of the retention period settings.

  19. Patron contact info - more fields?

    Adding discretionally more fields (i.e. city, see city.jpg) to the fields displayed in the user details - contact info panel
    (see user_details.jpg for the fields available at now...) would be a great thing...:=)

  20. User Group fee

    I would like it to be possible for a fee to be added to a user record when a certain user group is selected, eg.Postal Loans. The patrons are not imported with this user type - it is changed when they make the request to receive loans by post. There is currently no functionality that allows a fee to be added automatically when a new User group is manually selected.
