Create formatting for easily readable printing/PDF of Reading Lists and Pick from shelf lists
Our reserves team would greatly benefit from having a printable or downloadable PDF option of a full reading list. Currently, you can export the list to an excel sheet, but this is not easily readable or convenient for printing/otherwise storing data from past semester's requests. Additionally, it would be excellent if a similar option were available in Pick from Shelf. To pull items now, we need a printed sheet for each book, which is wasteful and redundant. If there were a single function to print the book info on a full list of needed items, it would save a lot…

Time to reshelve not applicable if there is a request
After testing the Time to reshelve, we found that if an item is requested, the delay for reshelve is not applicable.
It make sense in a way that the on hold shelf is not really a reshelve, but we would like to take into account the delay for reshelve for requested items too. In case of quarantaine.23 votes -
Make "Borrowing patron" a customizable option on Scan In Items screen
When a book is scanned in from the Scan In Items page, there are some options under the Settings gear that be added to display more (or less) information. One of these should be to show the information on the borrowing patron and a link to Manage Fulfillment Activities or the Patron Record. I understand this is an available field on the "Return Items" page. However, there are times when I am scanning in books that I'm not sure if they are signed out or not. If I use the Return Items page I get a pop-up for every book…

Attachments to Patron Welcome Letter
It would be useful to be able to attach files to Patron Welcome Letter, e.g. library rules and privacy notice as pdf.
They are too long texts to be added in letter itself but important to be delivered to the new patrons. To be able to send them automatically to new patrons with welcome letter would save paper work and time at customer service desk.

Delay for hold notification - up to 5 digits
Even if a library is closed to the public, the staff are working.
When they scan a returned loan, a notification is sent but the patron cannot retrieve his document due to the closed library.
It would be beneficial for us to be able to delay the notification for a week.
We would like to get up to 5 digits the delay for hold notification. Currently, it's 3 digits max, 999 minutes (16 hours).19 votes -
Return the borrower's name to the top of the screen
Please return the patron/borrower's name to the top of the loans screen. Having it on the right side in the new layout, makes the screen harder to read - and it is much easier to lend items to the wrong person.

Add Claims Returned items to Task List
Monitoring Claims Returned and Missing items requires analytics. There should be a way to see the current items with a claims or missing status so staff can actively search for the items. Having the items on a task list would be ideal. Searching for claims items is a standard task for fulfilment.

Customize the position of the Patron information on the Patron services page
In the new Alma UI, the position of the Patron information on the Patron services page is on top or at the right of the page, depending on your screen resolution.
Our staff works with width screens, causing the Patron information to show on the right of the page.
We would like to have this information always on top of the page: currently we can't customize this.1 vote -
Block payment and payment of fines at a circulation desk other than the library that owns the fine
In our institution, we have 34 libraries and our students can circulate among them. We think it's a problem when a user can pay their fines at another library, not on their own campus.
Regarding the payment of fines, we suggest that there is a way to block the payment and / or payment of fines at a circulation desk other than the library that owns the fine.15 votes -
Include Barcode in Reading List Search Results
If a user performs a search in Fulfilment > Course Reserves > Reading List > All tab for a course, book titles are listed, and the record shows there are 2 Physical copies. Clicking to see the 2 copies, the barcode number is not displayed.
By contrast, searching Physical Items, barcode is clearly visible on the results screen by default.
It would be very, very helpful to have the barcode displayed, in order to distinguish items more clearly. For example, the barcode column could replace the “Accession Number” field that is displayed, or it could be added as a custom…

Hide Leganto-specific features from Course Reserves when institution has not implemented Leganto
There is a very large number of links, buttons, and options in the Course Reserves area of Alma that only function if Leganto has been implemented. This severely complicates rollout of course reserves and is an ongoing annoyance. Perhaps Leganto-specific user roles could be added, and if a user does not have those roles, then the features would not appear.

Automate Work Order creation based on item location.
Boston College would like to be able to configure Alma so that work orders are auto-created for materials in a designated location when they are placed on loan.
Here is the desired workflow:
- Item is loaned.
- At the same time, Alma automatically places a work order on the item.
- When the item is returned to the managing circulation desk the work order is triggered and the item is routed to the correct work order department for processing.
The purpose of this request is to improve the management of the laptops that Boston College Libraries loan to patrons, and to facilitate…

Anonymize loans for a single patron and allow him to do it himself from his account
We need to have an option in the patron services page to allow our staff to anonymize a patron’s inactive loans, if he ask to. We would like also that the patron could do it himself from his Primo account. This option should exist at the institution zone level and every institution could choose if activate it or not.
The Alma anonymization job allow us to set a retention period for a specific set of libraries or user groups to anonymize inactive loans.
The needs of our single patrons are very different from one another, and the retention period that…30 votes -
Include Library Name in Item Available Notice Subject Line
Allow for the option to include the name of the library sending an available notice, "Main Library Available Notice" or "Art Library Available Notice" for example. Would be applicable to any notice where items referenced are from a single library.

Custom triggered fulfillment notes
Allow staff facing fulfillment notes (e.g. those triggered on check-in/out) to be triggered on just one or the other. That is, some of our notes are only relevant on check-out and it's unnecessary to have them pop-up on check-in.

Hope to have a separate Read-Only privilege for Users' contact information
The role "Circulation Desk Operator - Limited" lost the priviledge to check user's contact information after July release. To protect users' privacy and manage data, we cannot assign "privilege : User Manage Update" to this limited role as it has right to change customer's information. However our librarians will need to check users' contact information frequently at the Circulation Desk. Requesting the contact information from higher level librarian will reduce the efficiency.
We hope to have a separate Read-Only privilege for Users' contact information, then we could assign this privilege to limited role based on our workflow.

Enhance Convert to Resource Sharing function on Pick From Shelf List
When you don't find a requested item at your institution, it is great to be able to 'convert it to a resource sharing request' -- however that function should mark the item missing from our institution. Since pick from shelf does NOT display barcode and once we select the item to be converted to resource sharing request, it disappears from the pick from shelf list, so it is very difficult and time consuming to find the item and toggle it to missing. Also, the resource sharing request might be canceled because the item at our institution shows up as 'item…

Enable automated floating collections by allowing 'reshelve without transit' rules to update temporary library and location
Enable automated floating collections by allowing 'reshelve without transit' rules to update temporary library and location values
Currently, implementing floating collections between libraries requires manual intervention to set or update the temporary library and location values.
I would like to see functionality added to the 'reshelve without transit' rules definition, to allow the setting of a temporary library and location, in addition to preventing the transit of the item.

An availability calendar for booking request showing the times when booking request can be made
When we request a booking, the availability calendar doesn’t show the hours when booking request can be made, it only indicates the hours when the booking is not available.

Allow user preferred pick up location while retaining other options
Currently in the TOU you can allow pick-up at "Any pick-up location" or at" User affiliated Campus Pick-up locations". If the latter is set, only pick-up locations of the user's campus are available. We need an extension to the former rule, that lets the user's preferred pick-up location (a new parameter in the user profile) be selected as default option, while still allowing the user to select a different location when placing the request.
Obviously, the "User preferred pick-up library" needs to be added to the user profile.77 votes
