  1. Add ability to automatically check-in certain items to work order department such as laptops and ipads when they are returned to the library

Add ability to automatically check-in certain items to work order department such as laptops and ipads when they are returned to the library. For example, all of our technology items are sent to the technology work order department when they are check-in so they can be wiped clean or previous user's data. We would love the ability to automatically send certain items or items from certain locations to a specified work order department on check-in saving lots of added steps for the access services staff every time a laptop or ipad is checked in.

  2. Option for physical item requesting only items that are checked out.

In Alma, it seems that in the Terms of Use for requesting, you can only choose requestable and non-requestable. Is it possible to have an option to only request items that are checked out?

  3. Multiple requests (Home Delivery pickup), Multiple Items, and Information Display on Scan In Page

Multiple requests with pickup as Home Delivery are placed against a title and there are one or more copies available. When staff collect the items from the shelves, they scan in the item barcode. Alma, if it can see that there are two identical requests, on the Scan in page will ask for the request ID. Staff then scan in the request ID for the first patron (with Home Delivery as pick up location) in the request list. This results in the first patron being loaned the item that was scanned in. The display on the Scan in page only…

  4. User statistic description in Notification data of the letter

Notification data include the code for user statistics.
But the description is more useful rather than code for it.
So every letter which has user statistic notification data should include description of it.

  5. Add text message notification option for patron overdue notices

Allowing patrons to request text message notifications for overdue items would better ensure that they receive the overdue reminder notices, increasing the likelihood of having the materials returned more quickly, and decreasing the number of bills and collection efforts. Text messages are received on a more timely basis, while emails are often checked infrequently and can be more easily missed. Asking patrons at check out what the best way to contact them regarding overdue items and being able to offer text message notices (at their request, since some people do not have unlimited texting on their mobile device plan) as…

  6. change run time of "Notifications - Send Due Date Reminders" job to 8am instead of 10am

The job "Notification – Send Due Date Reminders" seems to be sending a notice on the day that the item is due. It’s scheduled to run at 10:00am every day so picks up short term loans made that day. We would like the ability to change it to run at 8am or earlier before the Library opens as we do not want people with short hourly type loans getting a reminder

  7. Why no 'last edit' history with operator and date in User Notes?

We would like to query why there is currently no way to tell who has edited a User Note; rather only the Created By and Creation Date are recorded?
Are there plans to improve this? Or if not, can this be considered for an enhancement request, in order that Fulfillment staff may add and edit notes and be able to follow the progress of such amendments from the data logged.
Currently the only way to see a trail of updates is to add freetext in the notes themselves, or else recreate a note each time an update occurs.
    An enhancement…

  8. Create request: allow requesting of several different descriptions for a title in one request form

In order to make the request flow more efficient it would be beneficial to have an option to request more than one description for a request.
For example, if one wants to move all the DVDs in a multi-volume collection to the reserves currently he needs to go and create a request for each volume. A better solution would be to allow him to select several different descriptions and then in the background split them ionto separate requests.
