Preserve the requests when edit an item and save
When modifying an item and saving, the related requests on the item might be cancelled. We hope for preserving the requests if the item was changed. Or the system can provide a selection button, and the librarian can decide whether to cancel the request or not.

I totally agree with this idea. Sometime we need to edit the description field with a request for patron and the request is canceled. So we have to cancel the request first, then edit descripion and make a request again.
In most cases the item is one of the series and we need put the series number in the description field. I hope we can have a option to keep or delete requests when we edit items. -
