Add Closed Library Management Policy Rule to RS Borrowing TOU
Currently, when a borrowing request item is received, the due date of item is set by the lender's TOU. If the due date falls on a library close date, the due date remains unchanged. This causes the problem when clients are misled by the due date and would visit the library to return the item even though the library is closed. We would like to add in the Closed Library Management policy type to the RS Borrowing TOU so that we can indicate in the event the due date of the RS request falls on a library close date, Alma can change the due date base on the library preferences (similar to the Closed Library Management Policy rule in Loan TOU).
As of the April 2019 release renewing a resource sharing request considers the resource sharing library opening hours and sets a renewal date according to them.

Yes, as you noted it is working correctly when the loan is issued for the first time, and it should work the same for the renewal.

Hi,
We are experiencing the same problem mentioned by Bronwen. Closed Library Due Date Management is working when borrowing requests are first issued to patrons, but subsequent renewals are becoming due on closed days. Closed Library Due Date Management should be preventing this from happening. Please can it be investigated for a fix?
Thanks,
James

Hi Moshe,
We are finding that the Closed Library Due Date Management policy works for resource sharing requests, whether ISO or email. When an ISO lender renews an RS request for us, however, they are becoming due on RS Library closed days. I had a call open about this (00626612) where I was told that "the current behavior is intended and changing the behavior would require an enhancement request". It was also suggested that I vote for the Ideas Exchange suggestions (which I've done).
I'm finding it quite hard to believe that it can be intended behaviour that Alma would ignore its own policy. Moshe - your comment suggests that Ex Libris thought this was working. Could you let us know whether this is being addressed please?
Many thanks,
Bronwen -

Hi Moshe,
We have the same issue. This means we have Document Delivery books due over our Christmas closedown period. Including loans due on Christmas day!

Hi Moshe,
Unfortunately not as we have RS items due date landed on our library closed days. I have submitted a SF case earlier as was advised that currently the RS Borrowing request rule don't have the Closed LIbrary Management Policy and it would be a enhancement request. Regards, Tony

Hi,
The loan due date is expected to take into account the loan TOU's Closed Library Management Policy, so that the patron gets a due date on an open day. Is that not your experience ?
Thanks,
