Copy PO Line Prices to Item Replacement Cost
Add a new configuration parameter to automatically copy the physical one time PO line price to the item Replacement cost. If the PO line's currency is different than the institution's default currency, the amount is exchanged and copied to the item (with no currency). The possibility (for an operator, a job or an API) to update or remove the amount in the Replacement cost should remain. Customers should be free to activate or not this configuration (true/false parameter).
Dear Community,
This is to update you that we plan to develop this requirement in a future Alma release.
The PO line price could be automatically copied to the item's "Replacement cost" field in the following scenarios:
- Upon PO line creation
- When changing the PO line price
- When adding or removing items to/from the PO line.
We plan to allow this by settings 2 customer parameters:
(1) One that will turn the functionality on and off, and will have the following values:
0- false
1- copy the price from the PO line's "List price" field
2- copy the price from the PO line's "Net price" field and divide by number of items in the "Ordered Items" section.
(2) Another that will allow to add or reduce amount from the PO line price when being copied to the "Replacement cost" field. This will allow:
- To add/decrease amount in local currency
- To add/decrease a percentage of the price in local currency.
Notes:
-The price will be copied only for physical one time PO lines.
-If the PO line currency is not the local currency, the total is recalculated and saved in the item in institution's defined currency.
-If currency_exchange_use_explicit_ratio equals true, and there is an entry in Explicit Exchange Rates code table for the PO line's currency, the explicit rate will be used for the "Replacement cost" calculation.
Please follow up on Alma Release Notes for updates on this development.
Best wishes,
Zohar Shemesh

I would also like a follow up on this planned implementation

Can we get an ETA for when this will be added to the roadmap?
Submitted case 05714777 and this idea was listed as a solution but still has not been implemented.

Adding my voice to this as a new Rialto institution - having the Replacement Cost field or Inventory Cost field populated by the Invoice, as suggested by Lisa and 徐an, would save a lot of staff time.

I'd like to add my "vote" to this Idea.

While this idea has been set to Planned in June 2019, it is not (yet) part of the 'Alma Roadmap Highlights: 2023-2024' for Acquisitions. https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Materials/010Roadmap/Alma_Roadmap_Highlights_(2023-2024)/Acquisitions
Fingers crossed anyway... -

Is there any ETA for this request? I haven't found anything about it in the Alma Roadmap Highlights - January 2022.

Please also can automatically let the replacement cost from the "invoice", since the actual amount paid may be different than what was initially encumbered.

Yes, I would also like to know when this will be done.

It's been 2 years. is this ever going to be developed?

I'm surprised this wasn't a function in Alma already. No one at our library even thought of this as having to be a separate step (it didn't seem to be so in Voyager) and hence none of the items we've added since migration have anything in the "replacement cost" field.

We would prefer to pull the replacement cost from the invoice, since the actual amount paid may be different than what was initially encumbered and would include discount, service charges, and tax (since these all apply to us when we have to re-order a lost item, it seems fair to charge a patron the same amount), but perhaps there could be a user-configurable option to make either choice.
We should also be able to choose whether or not to copy this amount into inventory price.

I should also mention that it might be best if we could have the net price be fed into the Replacement Cost field, as opposed to the list price that is currently able to be fed into the Inventory Price field. (Or at the very least, an option to choose between the net and list prices.)

Great idea! I would also recommend having an option to perform some simple mathematical operations on the price that is copied to the Replacement Cost (e.g., adding a certain amount to each price, dividing by the number of items as Serge suggested, etc.).

See this program by Meredith Foster that expedites using the API to copy PO line price to replacement cost: https://developers.exlibrisgroup.com/blog/Replacement-Cost
It may help you until Ex Libris implements the idea!

The price of the order is a good idea.
The price at the invoice is more correct but more complicated ... -

...and divided by the number of items linked to the POL?
