And the sidebar on the left should "hide" itself when not in use in order for the screen to be larger

You have to zoom out to 90% on Firefox in order to see Authority records fully

Also the font colour change would be useful as greys are not very pleasant on the eye.

Only the menu text is bigger not the actual font when editing a record, can this not be changed too, would be usefull if the user could change the size by numbers isntead of medium small or large?

The Ctrl-+ function in Firefox does help with making the font a readable size for each user. However, with the arrival of the new UI, the size of the font used on each page varies (the size of font used on the search result screen is different from that used on the Metadata Editor screen) and therefore requires constant adjustment. The fonts should all be set at the same size and then users would only have to make *one* adjustment.

Would the built-in browser functionality work for you? For example in Firefox I can type Ctrl-+ (that is, the ctrl key and the + key) and it will zoom in on any webpage. This enlarges images too so it's not exactly the same as just enlarging font, but for my purposes it's good enough.
