Calendar Management - update Calendars by uploading Excel spreadsheet
It is very time-consuming updating calendar exceptions each year in the Alma interface. Using Tools, It is possible to export calendars to Excel so please could you make it possible to import them as well because it would be so much quicker and easier to make the changes in Excel. In most cases, I just need to adjust the dates slightly rather than adding a new record.
Like other University libraries, our opening hours pattern is quite complex: 4 campuses with different hours, night opening for part of of the year at 2 campuses, early closing during the summer rotated…

Significant Improvements to the 'Browse Shelf List' Function Needed
The 'Browse Shelf List" function is essential for catalogers in our library and is extremely clunky and time-consuming to use. Proposing any (hopefully all) of the following changes:
Ability to view more results surrounding the exact search request.
Said in a different way, the ability to view the result in the middle of the results page, so as to be able to see a few of the results both before and after. This makes call number adjustment significantly easier, instead of always needing to click a back button and remember what the call number were on the page before.Ability…
221 votesThe Alma Browse Shelf Listing enhancements are completed.
This includes the following:
1. Author information will be displayed in the browse results, to assist in adding call number cutter for libraries that use author information for this.
2. Call number auto-population will also work for local 09X fields.
3. Read-only access was added, so that all users can now browse shelf listing (similar to browse bib and authority headings)
For more information please refer to the online help for Browse Shelf Listing.

Ability to Configure Borrowing Requests Status in Primo
The status of borrowing requests is displayed in the user's account (MyLibrary) in Primo. The statuses are not very user-friendly as they are the Alma statuses that are meant for staff. For example, "Locate failed" is quite disturbing for a user to see when checking the status of their resource sharing borrowing request.
We have been told that these values are in a hidden table in Alma and cannot be translated. We would like to be able to configure this table, or be able to map these statuses in a better way.

Add 'activation note' to purchase order screen for electronic orders
When ordering print material it is possible to add a 'receiving note' on the order screen. This note is visible on the receiving screen.
The same feature would be beneficial to the electronic ordering workflow: an 'activation note' available on the order screen which carries through to the activation screen.219 votes -
Please add the "suppress bibliographic record" to the log of the "view versions" in the MD editor
Hello,
We would like to have the ability to know when and by whom a bibliographic record was suppressed, when checking the "view versions" in the MD editor.
Thanks.

Add Electronic Services information to the Analytics Link Resolver subject area
Currently the Link Resolver subject area of Analytics allows us to generate reports on the number of times all electronic services are delivered and clicked.
We would like to see the details of which electronic services are being clicked, and which are not.
This is valuable information for us when making decisions about collection displays and edits we might make to the online services order.
To do inform these decisions we would like the Electronic services information to be added to the Link Resolver subject area in Analytics.218 votesYou can now create reports for the number of times a service was clicked. To allow this feature, the OpenURL Service Details dimension was added to the Link Resolver Usage subject area. It contains the following fields:
- Electronic Collection ID
- Electronic Collection Name
- Interface Name
- Is Clicked Service
- Is Digital Service
- Is Electronic Service
- Is Network Service
- Portfolio ID
- Service Type
For more information, see OpenURL Service Details.

Fulfillment: Automatic Renewal Notices / Email Letters to patrons when loans automatically renewed
Our users have requested to be notified with the new due date when an on loan item is automatically renewed by Alma. This is currently not possible and users are not aware when the item is due back until they receive a courtesy reminder 2-3 days before the due date. We would like Alma to provide the option to configure and send Auto Renewal Notices / Email Letters to users when their loans have automatically been renewed by Alma. We have Auto Renewal Activated and our users do not receive any notification that this has taken place. We would like…

Patron Loans - Temporary Embargo
Boston College Libraries lend a variety of technology items to members of our community - iPads, laptops, laptop chargers, calculators, etc. These items typically circulate for 4 days or 4 hours and we have a no renewals policy. However once an item is returned we have no easy way to ensure that the same patron does not return to the desk within 5 minutes and borrow the same item or like item again. What we would like to be able to do is configure Alma so that patron x cannot borrow the same or like item within x period of…

You can now configure a re-loan limit, preventing patrons from re-loaning items that they have just returned. For more details see: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Release_Notes/010_2018/08_May_2018/Alma_May_2018_Release_Notes/04Fulfillment_-_May_2018_Enhancements#New_Re-loan_Limit

Improve usability of 'Automatically Print Slip' in Resource Sharing
When receiving Resource Sharing Borrowing items, the 'Automatically Print Slip' option is only remembered for the current session, which leaves this vital function open to error.
This could be improved in one of the following ways (in order of preference):
Option 1: Provide a configuration option in one of the code tables to set the default (this would also be desireable for all similar functions elsewhere, such as in RS Lending).
Option 2: Make the last selected option persist across sessions so our staff can set it once and not have to remember to set it every time.
Option 3:…
216 votesThe Automatically Print Slip option in the resource sharing receiving interface was enhanced. This option is used when printing the Resource Sharing Receive Slip Letter when receiving a physical item. It now retains the last value you selected for this option.

Add 'Test access' button to New Portfolio editor
When adding a new local portfolio in an electronic collection we will always test access before the task is completed.
Currently we have to click 'Save and done', search for the portfolio and then test access. If the link is incorrect, we have to edit, save, and test again. Please add the 'Test access' button in the New Portfolio editor as in the Electronic Portfolio Editor to save us time and extra clicks.
216 votesA new page action is added that enables the user to save the newly created portfolio and test the access simultaneously.

Add URL to einventory analytics for both electronic collections and portfolios
Generating a list of URLs that relate to either portfolios or electronic collections would be hugely useful. The Export URLs job that currently exists in Alma doesn't attribute URLs to resources, and also isn't complete (can't handle parser details).

Electronic inventory information including URL was added to the E-Inventory subject area

Add functionality to merge patron records when there are duplicate patron records.
The merge should let the user identify the source record and the incoming record, and retain all of the loans, holds and notifications on the incoming record to add to the source record. This way, the remaining record retains all the information from both records, but deletes the incoming record so there aren't any duplicates.
213 votesA user with appropriate privileges can now merge one or more user records into another user record. You can select which segments to merge (contacts, identifiers, notes, blocks, demerits, statistics, attachments and proxy for). All fulfillment activities are merged (loans, requests, fines/fees and interested users) to the new user. To enable this feature, contact Ex Libris customer support.

"Make Toggle Missing Status Available from item editor"
To mark an item as missing, you must currently use the Toggle Missing Item option from the inline action menu, which only displays when you are viewing a list of items attached to a given bib record. However, if you search for the item using a physical item search, and only one item matches your search criteria (for example, if you search by barcode), then the item record opens automatically in the physical item editor. There is no option to toggle the missing status from this screen. Operators must remember to perform a title search, instead of a physical item…

Status for returned items changed to Awaiting shelving then changed to item in place after specified period
When an item is returned at the Library Desk Alma instantly changes the status to "Item in place", leading a user looking at that status in Primo to believe that the item is on the shelf. However when an item is returned at the Library Desk it is not instantly returned to the shelf - often it is placed on a returns trolley and reshelved later in the day or the next day.
What would be more useful would be for Alma to automatically assign a status of 'awaiting shelving' to an item when it is returned, and then after…
208 votesTime to reshelve (hours) is now available on the Organization Unit Details (when configuring a library), Circulation Desk, and Reshelve Without Transit Rules Editor pages. When configured, items that are marked as reshelf or reshelf without transit, will be displayed as Awaiting Shelving, instead of Item in Place, for the period of time configured. The item is considered as available, but appears as being reshelved in Alma and Primo so students and librarians know not to search for it on the shelf. Alma removes the ‘Awaiting Reshelving’ indication when the configured time since the item return has passed.
You can configure Time to reshelve once for the entire library, or override for a specific circulation desk.

Add the option to expand both physical and electronic inventory simultaneously rather than having to choose one or the other
For people who work with both physical and electronic items, it is frustrating to continually have to toggle the Expand option back and forth between the two inventory types in order to see associated items or portfolios in the brief results lists. This makes collections work burdensome and requires multiple additional clicks. We'd like the option to have inventory information for both types display automatically by default, in addition to the existing options to display one type or the other.

Edit an authority record when cataloging a bibliographic record
Here is an enhancement request concerning authorities.
Currently, when cataloging a bibliographic record in the metadata editor, we can press F3 in a field to choose an authority.
Example :
MARC21 field 100 -> F3 to choose an author authority.When pressing F3, the cataloger can :
- select an authority
- view an authorityI would like ExLibris to add a third option :
- edit authority(for example : after clicking on "view" an autor authority, I want to be able to edit it to add a field 4xx)
Thanks for taking this into account!
204 votesWhen you use F3 in the MD Editor and view a local authority record, there is a new action Edit to edit the local authority record. Edit is also available when viewing a local authority record using Browse Bibliographic Headings. See Viewing and Linking to an Authority Record for more information.

Add a policy copy column in the list of items
When we are searching for all titles we cannot find in the list of items the related item policy so if we have to check the policy of a copy we have to select action and select view to view the related policy. Adding a column with the related policy in the list of items would be quick and useful.
201 votesMaterial type, item policy, and/or copy ID were added to the following areas:
Item List page
Physical Item Editor
Physical items repository search results
List of Items accessed by clicking the No. of Items link in the Holdings tab of the “Held By” Details page (for a member search in the Network tab)
data exported (the copy ID) to a CSV file when exporting physical items
the item list presented when selecting Bind Items from the List of Items page

Enhance Cost Per Use reports
It would be really good if we could customise the Cost Per Use reports to better reflect the data each institution might want to collect. For example, they might need the cost data to be based on invoice subscription dates rather than fiscal year paid. Another example is wanting to calculate on usage on a specific platform rather than combined usage across all platforms.
201 votesIn August 2019 we officially released a new Cost Per Use structure integrated into the E-Inventory subject area with special consideration for determining the COUNTER platform in the Cost Per Use. On August 13th we had two world wide webinars (for different time zones) explaining the new feature. This was developed together with a group of early testers and development partners via a Basecamp group that met regularly, consisting of 17 librarians from 11 institutions. This also includes the fund information in the e-inventory subject area as requested in ideas exchange with 174 votes https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308173-alma/suggestions/19256761-in-analytics-add-fund-information-to-e-inventory-s

Split role user manager in 2: the user manager and the patron manager
Right now any operator at any level with a role enabling the right to edit/delete users in Alma has the rights as well to change or delete roles or scopes of anyone else, even of the Alma administrators (!).
Roles shall be fine tuned in a much more granular way, as to have two separated types of managers and administrators.
- Patron managers shall be enabled to create and edit Patron Users, but not to edit/delete roles assigned to other users, esp. Libray staff Users.
- User administrators instead should be enabled to edit/delete roles of other users, including Library…200 votesAs part of the June release It is possible to restrict users that have access to user accounts so that they cannot update restricted users accounts. For example, it is possible to set that some users that have a User Manager or Circ Desk Operator role will still not be able to update accounts of library staff. Restricted accounts can be defined as accounts with given user groups or with given user roles.
