Please add Description field to all three tabs in Patron Services page: Loan tab, Return tab, and Request tab
Currently, there is no Description field in Patron Services page. Library staffs are not able to immediately recognize which issue, volume, or number is loaned, returned, or requested by a patron at a glance in three tabs at this page.
When circulation desk staff help patron to check or see their loans in Loan tab, Description field is not visible.
Or, if a patron requests different issues under the same title at a time, when he/she comes to circulation desk and wants to pick up his/her requested items, library staff will need to spend more steps to check the Description…364 votesA new ‘Description’ column can be added to the list of loan items in the Manage Patron Services page. The column shows the value of the physical item’s ‘Description’ field.

Add generic physical material types to the current table
My libraries circulate various pieces of equipment from microphones, to musical instruments, to 3D printers, to lockers, and the current physical material type table does not suffice without adding a slew of item policies or location codes, which is messy and makes the resulting analytics more painful than it should be.
Ex Libris support states that "The [physical material type] codes cannot be changed, because Development needs them for statistics across libraries." However individual libraries will have items that they need to distinguish between either for fulfillment rule purposes or our own statistics.
I would like there to be about…

Ability to edit "subscription from date", "subscription to date", and "additional information" fields on closed invoices
For some institutions, this data did not migrate, and for others, there are invoice operator errors that need to be fixed. This is vital to subscription management. We need this.

Document Delivery - 10 MB Attachment Limit too small
For document delivery (scanning and delivering book chapters and journal articles) the limit is 10 MB. This equals roughly 20 pages of black and white text only on default, low res scanning setting.
For anything in color or with detailed photos we typically cannot send, requiring us to cancel the request and deliver the scan outside of the Alma workflow.
347 votesFor attachment digitization requests, the file size limit was increased from 10 MB to 25 MB.

comment/note field for configurations
A comment or note field for configurations would be incredibly helpful in general, but the current pandemic has highlighted the need for a way to easily track the reasons behind changes. This would keep the notes in the places where they'd be seen by the people working on the configurations, rather than us having to track things in a separate place.
All of the fulfillment configuration menu would benefit from this ability when short-term or emergency changes are being made. But it would also be good in places like: Letters; DARA recommendations; and all Other Settings areas. These are places…

Automatic removal of lost item from patron loan list once replacement fee is paid AND recorded in item history.
Currently, when an item becomes "lost" and a patron is charged the item's replacement fee, when the patron pays the replacement fee, the item remains on the patron's list of loans. So, one either must individually delete" lost loans that are paid for or run a close lost loans job. Neither action is recorded in the item's history. the item is paid for. Ideally, once an item is paid for, the item should be automatically removed from the patron's list of items and have a process type of "missing" or "lost and paid for" or something along those lines. And,…
333 votesCompleted as part of January release:
When an on loan item’s status is changed to Lost and the last lost or replacement fee is closed, the loan status can now be changed to Lost and paid and the loan is closed

More possibilities for the Alma Color Theme
In the new UI, libraries can manage branding in Alma by selecting one of 6 basic colors (blue, purple, red, green, brown, orange). This configuration can only be made by a General administrator and is valid for all Alma users. We would like:
- a larger variety of colors (proposing the 216 web-safe colors would be fine);
- the possibility for any user to define their own Color Theme: color experience may be very different from one individual to another and giving everyone the possibility the use a convenient color would be appreciated.330 votesNow, in Alma, the Color Scheme can be configured on the user level, not just the institutional level.

Add Statistics Notes to Search Indexes
Currently Statistics Notes in item records are not among the options of search indexes in Alma. Recommend adding them. Evidently they can only be searched in Analytics now.
327 votesIn advanced search for Physical titles and Physical items, you can now search for statistical notes.

Allow Purchase Requests to be re-linked to a different bib record
After the March updates and the removal of the search in repository it has become difficult to correct mistakes after the initial creation of a purchase request. I suggest that the search in repository function be added back to allow us to relink a purchase request to the correct bib record instead of having to recreate the purchase request.

Swedish Characters (Case nr 00794172 Swedish Film Institute)
Apparently, since Alma and Primo are indexed differently, if you have chosen Scandinavian characters during implementation, Alma cannot handle searches on, for example, French accents. Works in Primo, but not Alma.
Obviously, for us Scandinavian customers this is problematic. There is a risk that both staff and patrons end up with faulty search results.
Andrew Christison, Customer Success Manager, promised to look into this on our behalf but also suggested we make an Idea Exchange for this issue.309 votesAs of July release the handling of Scandinavian characters was enhanced. last active date
User profile - Last active date
We would like to have a field in the user profile that shows patron’s last active date, i.e. loan, request or return. This field will be useful when deciding which user profiles to purge.
308 votesYou can now view the last activity date for specific activities in the Last Patron Activity Date field of the User Details Page. The field is display only and will be available for analytics in an upcoming release. Due to privacy concerns, data will only be collected from activation of this new feature onward. If the option is disabled, all data collected in this field will be deleted for all users.

Add functionality to fund summary pages to view encumbered orders
There is no functionality within the fund summary pages to see what orders have not yet been paid (order still encumbered). The value of the encumbered orders does show in the summary graph however it would be really useful to see the orders this relates to.

Add a public note field in interface record
From time to time, a vendor interface goes down temporarily. While we follow the access issue up with the vendor, we add a public note for our students and staff indicating that the interface is temporarily down. The issue is that often we have many electronic collections with the same interface, and therefore must add a public note to each and every electronic collection that uses the affected interface, and then remove all of the notes once access is restored.
Since all of these electronic collections link back to a single interface, it would be great if there were a…

Add functionality to better manage queue for reserves/holds
More academic libraries are checking out high-traffic electronic items (laptops, Wi-Fi hotspots, etc.) and often have a long list of patrons with holds on these items. It would be useful if we could manage the queue for user holds/reserves more effectively. We should be able to renumber/reposition users in the queue (presently you may only bump someone up to the very top of the queue or profile a priority if users are from different user groups). We should also be able to manage the queue without having the item available; presently that is not possible. We often have 12+ users…

Deleting requests older then a certain date
Would it be possible to have a way of deleting physical item requests older then a certain date? Now it's only possible to delete all requests on a title, but that's not very useful.
Highly requested titles on a courses reading list is often not relevant after a certain date, when the course has ended. We sometimes see that old requests, that we haven't been able to fulfill, are causing unnecessary delay in fulfilling requests that are still relevant for the new, active course.
When we had to close the library in spring 2020, we also could see that a…
292 votesHi,
The new Delete Old Requests cloud app deletes old requests based on a CSV file. You can create a report in Analytics, for example by create date, export to a CSV file, and then use the app to delete.

Make Alma link resolver compatible with EndNote's "Find Full Text" feature
EndNote offers a "Find Full Text" feature that allows users to locate full text for citations saved to their library. The feature can be configured to work with your institution's link resolver. However, according to EndNote customer support, the Alma link resolver is not currently compatible with this feature. This enhancement would allow Alma customers to locate full text for EndNote citations via openURL.
285 votesEndnote 20.3 " Find Full Text" can now be configured to locate and download full text for references using Alma's link resolver.
Instruction for setting the integration can be found in the following blog

Show a confirmation/warning about completing a lending request when using scan in items
It would be a good enhancement to get a warning or a confirmation that a request is about to be set to completed, when we scan in an item that is currently in a resource sharing process. Because we use RFID, we have had multiple occurences of scanning in a document that already has the status Shipped Physically again by mistake, only to have the lending request irreversibly set to Request Completed, without the item ever being received by the Borrowing library. This means we have to contact the owning library and ask them to resubmit the request.
When using…
279 votesAs of July release you canset a message to warn the users if they are going to complete a lending process when scanning items. On the Scan In Messages Configuration page, the Complete lending request message, which defaults to none (no message), can be set to Popup message.

A borrowing library should be notified when a lending request is put on a waiting list
Scenario:
A library receives a resource sharing request (lending request), and the borrowing library asks to be put on waiting list if the wanted item is on loan. When the request is put on waiting list, the borrowing library should be automatically notified. This could for intance be by change of status on the Borrowing request to "In queue".277 votesWhen an internal 'ship digitally/physically' request is placed for a lending request (automatically OR manually), a 'Will Supply' message is automatically sent (and status changed accordingly) to reflect that.

Extend time before analytics times out
Whenever I am working on an analytic report, it often takes hours. But after a few minutes, if I do not go back to Alma to do a fake search to refresh its link to analytics, analytics would time out.
Can you extend the time to at least an hour before analytics times out?
