  1. Add Academic Department as a field in Acquisitions

Many academic libraries need to keep track of spending by academic department. If spending is not allocated by academic department then it is needlessly cumbersome to track this through the fund structure. Although this could be tracked through the sole reporting code Alma offers, there are many other competing needs for that valuable real estate. It would be useful to many institutions to have a discrete academic department field for use in creating reports.

Alternatively, add a "reporting code 2" to acquisitions that could be used for a variety of purposes.

  2. Add to General Publishing profile the ability to include holdings details for related inventory

We have large numbers of "bound with" titles e.g. pamphlets. These have MARC Bibliographic records but no Holdings or Items - they are linked to the parent volume, which has the Holdings and Inventory information. When the "bound with" records are published using a General Publishing profile, the Holdings information is not added from the related (parent) record, and the records appear to have no Holdings. We would like the option to include Holdings and Items for Related records in these cases, so that the library and location of the title can be included in the published records.

Related records can now be republished to external systems, so that the external catalog has a full representation of the catalog and inventory of your library. You can include the related record information (bibliographic and physical inventory). If the institution is part of a consortium, then when publishing bibliographic records from the Network Zone to an external system, the related records information can also be published to the external system.

  3. Share GES configurations from the NZ to the IZ

Would like to set up GES configurations in the NZ and be able to share those configurations with the IZ. Example, ERIC, Amazon, Google Scholar, and ProQuest Dissertations.

  4. Provide ability to "Catalog set" and "Filter set" on sets of authorities

Under 'Manage Sets' we are able to send sets of less than 30 bibliographic records directly to the Metadata Editor by clicking 'Catalog set'. We can also filter sets of less than 30 bibliographic records using indication rules by clicking "Filter set". These functionalities are not available for sets of authority records.

Existing authorities often will not be available to cataloguers using F3 if there are any coding mismatches from what Alma expects. This is much too big of a job to handle manually.

It would greatly improve authority control, especially cleaning up old authorities, to be able to filter…

For better management of local authority records, the following new options are now available:

Catalog Set – A set of local authorities records can be opened in the MD Editor for cataloging.
Filter Set – You can filter a set of local authority records using indication rules to create a subset of records with only the records that pass the indication rules conditions.

  5. Daytime options for automated Alma notice jobs which involve patron notifications

We recently had a call from a distressed parent who had been woken by a late night notification due to an Alma notice being sent to them.

Whilst appreciating that jobs are scheduled later to catch lower utilization of the system, would it be possible to have some options for all jobs which feature patron-facing notifications to be run between 9.00am and 9.00pm e.g. Courtesy Notices and Handle Loan Renewals job.

  6. Make the Manage Sets table sortable

Most institutions make heavy use of Sets functionality, but there are basic UI improvements that would save time and effort. One would be to make the "Manage Sets" table sortable by the column headings that are not currently sortable:
    Active
    Type
    Content Type
    Created By
    Creation Date

  7. Creating itemized sets using file upload and OCLC numbers

Currently, when we create an itemized set by file upload (also known as "Adding Itemized Sets"), the file upload option only includes MMS ID, PID, Barcode, Item ID, Portfolio ID, or PO line reference. If I have a file of MARC records from OCLC or another vendor, it would be nice to run the OCLC numbers through Alma to see how many titles are currently in Alma. At this point in the process, we don't have an MMS ID. If we could use a list of OCLC numbers, this would allow us to create a set of records based on…

  8. Tableau access to Analytics (Alma & Primo)

    Hi ExLibris

A number of institutions use Tableau (market leading BI platform) for Library Analytics

It would be awesome if ExLIbris would open/allow Alma & Primo Analytics to connect with Tableau (or other similar BI tools)

Currently Tableau can connect with Oracle BI (OBIEE) (which Alma/Primo Analytics use) but we need the connection
details and network access - refer documents below

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WKBtLB1W5o
    http://kb.tableau.com/articles/knowledgebase/tableau-and-obiee
    https://www.biconnector.com/

ExLibris users: Please post in the comments below if you use Tableau - or if you use a similar tool for Library Analytics please post the details

    Cheers

  9. Add subscription to and from dates to the invoice information that Alma exports

    1. Subscription dates range
    2.Additional information
Both fields were added under tag

  10. cataloging level defaults

We have cataloging levels enabled in Alma. We would like the default for imports to be higher than the lowest level. Currently, all imports from import and integration profiles are assigned the lowest level, and the only way to change them is to run a job after importing.

  11. Better way to easily identify suppressed bib & holdings records

Currently, it is not possible to quickly identify suppressed holdings records. It is not unusual to have an unsuppressed bib, with one or more suppressed holdings. Would it be possible to place use an icon next to the holdings records on repository search results (similar to what is used for suppressed bibs), or, to use different color coding of the background and/or text? At the very least, the MARC simple view should indicate a holdings record is suppressed, either with wording, an icon, or a color differentiation. (Color differentiation was introduced into Voyager several years ago, and it worked great.)…

  13. Add Closed Library Management Policy Rule to RS Borrowing TOU

Currently, when a borrowing request item is received, the due date of item is set by the lender's TOU. If the due date falls on a library close date, the due date remains unchanged. This causes the problem when clients are misled by the due date and would visit the library to return the item even though the library is closed. We would like to add in the Closed Library Management policy type to the RS Borrowing TOU so that we can indicate in the event the due date of the RS request falls on a library close date, Alma…

  14. Related Digital Record Support

For physical and electronic records there is a support for "related records" functionality / analytic cataloging (represented by 773 MARC field).

We suggest to add this important functionally to digital records, so that the digital representation will be displayed in the View-It section of the related record as well as in the View-It of the main record (just as it is done for physical records by inheriting the inventory to the related record).

  15. Allow personal delivery requests to be converted to resource sharing requsts

Currently, Alma does not allow personal delivery requests to be converted to resource sharing requests. Library staff have to change the pickup location from personal delivery to a physical library, convert the request to a resource sharing request, and then change the pickup location back to Personal Delivery. Can this be changed so staff can convert personal delivery requests to resource sharing requests without having to change the pickup location?

  16. Add User Statistical Categories as a Parameter in Fulfillment Units Rules

We would like the ability to add user statistical categories as input parameters when configuring Fulfillment Units. This will allow us to apply additional terms of use (TOUs) to certain subsets of User Groups.

Right now, we are able to configure Fulfillment Unit rules based on User Groups (i.e. Student, Staff, Community Member, etc.). However, there are certain subsets of users within these groups (for example, a student that is part of a scholarship program, learning community, or major) that we would like to apply different TOUs to. We can identify these users with Statistical Categories and if we could…

  17. Customize display settings

Parts of Alma are difficult to read. I would like to see more space between lines of text, more contrast between font colors, larger type, etc.. It would be nice if each user could customize their display settings.

Please add the report type 'Portfolio deleted from auto-active package (electronic collection)' to Review Tab, and not only to All Tab.

  19. Sort of holdings by location (A-Z) in Primo GetIt

Holdings in Primo Getit are sorted by "their proximity to the patron, according to the library IP address." [1]. This results in a random list (see screenshot).

We want a sort by library location (A-Z), because this is more intuitive in cases where many holdings exist, e.g. printed journals are distributed at many locations among the university, see example [2].

  20. Community Zone Updates Task List filter for "Local Information"

When working in the Community Zone Updates Task List I would like to be able to filter by items that do/do not have Local Information (screenshot: https://www.screencast.com/t/rrCNY2U0CI). Having local information can determine if further action is needed (i.e. updating coverage information, removing local parameters, etc.).
