Add the ability to search ( and save query ) for holdings with suppressed tag yes
Please add the ability to search ( and save query as a set ) for holdings with suppressed tag yes.
Right now we can search for Holding having Tag Suppressed at Title level. This is not enough and is sometimes misleading (e.g. when a Title has 2 holdings, one suppressed and one not suppressed). We need to identify, save as set and manipulate holdings having tag suppressed at holdings level. This info has been added at Items level in Analytics, and is useful in case of report, but we need to work at Holdings Level in Alma with real time…

Please allow Enum C and Enum D selection in Physical Items Enrichment of Publishing Profile
As we construct a crucial Publishing Profile, we need to fetch our Enum C and Enum D. However, in the Physical Items Enrichment option of the publishing profile, these fields are not available. Our go-live is scheduled later this year and lack of Enum C and Enum D causes a great deal of concern.

Metadata Editor: add filter sort by type XSL
It would be helpful when searching for shared norm rules to be able to sort by type XSL. Right now when looking for a rule to copy and customize we have to pick thru a list of several hundred, because the majority are drool.

Add notes or internal description field to collections
Currently the only place to put information into a (not electronic) collection is the Description, which is visible to the public. It would be very useful to have an internal note or internal description field where we can put in information such as why a collection was created, who wanted it, what criteria to use when adding titles, etc.

FRBR report option in Alma
Primo has the ability to group titles (mulitple editions, for example) using FRBR principles. However, finding multiple editions of titles is very slow and cumbersome in Alma. A "FRBR" report option in Alma/Analytics would be very beneficial for collection work and could draw on capabilities already existing in Primo.
1 voteDear all,
The "Bibliographic Records Distribution" data visualization has an option to search by Title.
This supplies the option to retrieve all editions of the same title.
The same can be done in other reports.
As this idea has not gained the traction we typically look for to move forward, it is unlikely to be implemented in the foreseeable future.
Best regards,

Merge rules: Make primary and secondary records configurable
For merge rules, it is currently fixed which of the two records involved is primary and secondary. However, for certain scenarios, it would be very handy to have the possibility to change that default configuration (a) as default for the specific rule, and (b) when applying the merge rule in the metadata editor. For example, if you want to use external search to enrich your record on the left pane with the record on the right pane. This functionality would also facilitate the re-use of merge rules (say, you want the same kind of fields to be retained for an…

Controlled Vocabulary: Display locally managed controlled vocabularies in the Controlled Vocabulary Registry
As a metadata administrator, I want one place in the Alma configuration that shows me all controlled vocabularies so that I can view and modify them more easily.
Currently, locally managed controlled vocabularies (that are linked locally to just one specific field) aren't displayed in the controlled vocabulary registry. This makes it tedious to look them up, view and modify them. To do so, you currently have to go to the specific field and subfield in the metadata configuration. This costs a lot of clicks and feels tedious.

Controlled Vocabulary: Deploy Changes the from Controlled Vocabulary Registry Screen
As a catalog administrator, I want to deploy controlled vocabulary changes from the controlled vocabulary registry screen with a deploy button so that don't lose time with navigating to another screen.
Currently, controlled vocabularies that are managed in the controlled vocabulary registry must be deployed in a separate step by going to Alma configuration > Resources > Metadata management > e.g. MARC21 Bibliographic > Deploy.

Allow multiple levels of nesting for functions in Dynamic URLs
I am requesting the ability to nest the same or different functions multiple times (at least five, but preferably many more).
Use Case: Sometimes it is necessary to replace multiple strings in a dynamic URL.
For example, I need to replace three different characters for Nexis Uni:
1) Replace + with a space
2) Replace & with an empty string (effectively removing &s)
3) Replace : with an empty string (effectively removing :s)This is what the dynamic URL would look like:
IF(rft.atitle)
https://advance.lexis.com/search?pdsearchterms=TITLE%28%22REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE({rft.atitle},%3A,""),%26,""),+,"%20")%22%29&pdtypeofsearch=urlapi&pdstartin=snapshot&pdsearchtype=bool&pdmfid=1516831&pdisurlapi=true
IF(rft.stitle)
https://advance.lexis.com/search?pdsearchterms=PUBLICATION%28%22REPLACE(REPLACE(REPLACE({rft.atitle},%3A,""),%26,""),+,"%20")%22%29&pdtypeofsearch=urlapi&pdstartin=snapshot&pdsearchtype=bool&pdmfid=1516831&pdisurlapi=true
IF()

Add support for importing .mrk files
At the moment Alma only supports importation of resources as .mrc files. These files are trickier to work with than .mrk and add a lot of unnecessary time to our import workflows (converting back and forth, "saving as" frequently, losing changes - especially for large imports).

Show folder and column details in filters in alma analytics where multiple columns have identical names.
When creating a repost in Alma there are certain subject areas (e.g Physical Items) where a column name is identical across multiple folders.
For example:
Material Type (Physical Item Details)
Material Type (Bibliographic Details)
Material Type (PO Line)when viewed in "Create" view in Alma you can see the folder headings above the column headings and there identify which is which.
However when used as filters, only the column heading is displayed - therefore it is impossible to identify which is which without clicking into each filter and looking for Column Formula to see which folder it comes from.Snip…
81 votesDear Colleagues,
Thank you for your feedback and for sharing your concerns regarding the suggested workaround.
There is a solution, though it not be user-friendly for those unfamiliar with SQL.
We appreciate the importance of making our tools as accessible as possible, however, implementing the requested change would require significant time and resources. This would divert our focus from other critical features that could provide greater overall benefits to our user base.
We value your input and are committed to continuously improving our services.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Add function to suppress a bib record from a title search results list
Add the ability to suppress or unsuppress a bib record directly from search results without having to open the record in the Metadata Editor. It's inefficient to have to have to open and close the MDE for that single task.
3 votesAs this will be supported as part of the new title search UX coming in H2 2024, we are closing this idea to release the votes.

Commitment to retain blocked by location
The commitment to retain functionality is really great for managing shared print collections, but not all physical locations should be eligible for retention commitments. For example, there are certain locations that might hold rented/leased material or material that the library cannot commit to retaining long term. Items in those locations should not present those fields. Can that be added to physical item configuration?

Sorting electronic collections by "Public name (override)"
When searching for electronic collections, results lists can currently only be sorted by collection name or by rank. It would be very useful if the list could also be sorted by "Public name (override)".
Currently, for each entry in the result list, the name from the field "Public name (override)" is displayed first, followed by the collection name - which equals the public name - in parentheses. However, the alphabetical order is determined by the public name. This results in a collection list sorted by the names which are in second place and in parantheses. This is rather confusing and…

Ability to search for duplicate varying text in two different Marc subfields within the same MARC field
Using the Indication rule "recordHasDuplicateSubfields", it is possible to find duplicate subfields that have the same value within the same field, but it is not possible to find duplicate subfields if the subfield content is different.
For example, we can't find a 245 field that contains two different 245 b subfields.
Having this possibility would greatly help us to identify cataloguing errors.3 votesThis idea has not received sufficient support from the community through votes. Add Reporting Codes and Dates to Items screen
Reporting Codes can be applied to POLs only.
Reporting codes and dates allow libraries the freedom to set codes and manage items.
For example, items can set Funds when it is no longer linked to a POLs with Change holding.
Also, missing book codes and date can be entered in case of a missing book.
Allowing Reporting codes, or some similar code, to be applied to Items would add a great deal of flexibility and utility to an already good idea.3 votesHello all,

Configure our default option to “Keep local descriptive metadata” when linking local portfolios to CZ at the Institution level
Currently, the default option is set to "Use descriptive metadata from the community," and our staff need to manually select the option "Keep local descriptive metadata" every time a portfolio is linked to CZ. Relying on manual updates introduces human error, and fixing these errors requires considerable effort and staff time. Therefore, we propose the inclusion of a user-configurable option that will allow institutions to set their preferred source of descriptive metadata as the default (either CZ or local) when linking portfolios in Alma. This will allow institutions greater control over their processes and will minimize the burden on ExLibris…

include cancellation note in create digitization cancellation email
If a create digitization request on a lending request is cancelled, the explanation/message from the library/stores team is not included in the cancellation email to the lending partner.
It would be nice if this went into the cancellation email as an extra bit of information explaining why the request has suddenly been cancelled.
When the ILL Team cancel a request, we usually give a bit of an explanation, like missing from shelf, missing pages, too fragile, etc.3 votesThank you for taking the time to share your idea with us. We truly appreciate your engagement and the thought you put into your suggestion.

Add option to import records as standalone upon multi-match
In the "Automatic Multi-Match Handling" section, under the option "Choose a conclusive action in case the above selected criteria result in multiple records," I'd like to be able to select "skip and import record as standalone." I still want the record, but it doesn't know which record I plan to overlay. So, I must manually resolve the issue. It's an extra step to go back into the job's history, download the record it rejected, and reload it as standalone.
