  1. RS Borrowing Requests – changing format before sending request

We would like the ability to change the format of a request before sending it to a Partner – e.g. from book/book chapter to journal/journal article or vice versa.

As our patrons don’t always know, or pay attention, to the actual source format, they often submit their requests with the wrong format, which our staff would like to fix before sending to Partners.

  2. Improve usability of 'Automatically Print Slip' in Resource Sharing

When receiving Resource Sharing Borrowing items, the 'Automatically Print Slip' option is only remembered for the current session, which leaves this vital function open to error.

This could be improved in one of the following ways (in order of preference):

Option 1: Provide a configuration option in one of the code tables to set the default (this would also be desireable for all similar functions elsewhere, such as in RS Lending).

Option 2: Make the last selected option persist across sessions so our staff can set it once and not have to remember to set it every time.

    Option 3:…

  3. Email notification to ISO Partners about Overdue Items

We would like for the Borrowing Library to receive an email notification (in addition to the patron) when an item is Overdue.
Since Dec. 2018 this option is available for NCIP Partners, but not for ISO Partners

  4. Conditional Status and Email Message for Non-ISO Partners

We would like for to be able to send Conditional Messages by Email and for the Request Status to automatically change to Conditional when working with Non-ISO partners: see Jan. 2019 Release for ISO partners

  5. An in process/holding status in Resource sharing lending

We would like to see a status called 'In Process' created for Lending.

There are often times when you need to contact a requesting library to confirm details. However as there is no applicable status to change the request to it risks being worked on by another individual if we leave it in unassigned.

We could assign the item to ourselves however, if someone else receives the response or if the staff member concerned is away then the request gets held up longer because its not accessible. Ultimately you end up with double handling and it becomes a very inefficient…

  7. SEARCH BAR SCOPE = STICKY

When searching, you can choose the scope from your institution, to Network Zone, to Community Zone. This choice should stick.

I work in Resource Sharing, and mostly in the Network Zone. I have to choose "network" every time I search something. It would be great if once I selected the NZ scope it would stick and stay there for every search.

  8. Adding a lending request 'from search'

Small thing: when choosing 'from search' for adding a lending request, can the cursor be active in the keywords search field automatically, please. Thanks.

  9. Add scheduled job which Recalculates Rota Assignment on Resource Sharing Borrowing Requests in Locate Failed Status

We are trying to configure a more automated workflow for Resource Sharing in our consortium. We recently reconfigured our Resource Sharing settings. Our Partners' Locate Profiles were all changed from not checking availability (so we had time to manually manage queues) to "Check for availability" so that items will pass instantly through the Rota if an item is not available at a partner. Then each of the Resource Sharing Libraries modified their Library Details from cancelling requests on locate failure to not cancelling requests on locate failure, which keeps the request Active after it passes through the Rota unfilled, and…

  10. Adding a Parameter to Partner Record

We would like to add the parameter Library Type to the Partners e.g. CL=College Library, UL=University Library, HL=Hospital Library etc..

  11. Make Query to Patron Letter use addressFrom like any other letter

The Query to Patron letter functionality for Borrowing Requests in Alma has recently been reimplemented to use the standard mail configuration in Alma. By some reason an exception has been made for the "addressFrom" setting, where it instead still uses the default address for the Resource Sharing library.

This is counter intuitive, as the addressFrom value is still configurable for the letter, only it doesn't have any effect. I'm still surprised my case (#00609529) was identified as a documentation issue and not a bug.

If you like us has selected to not implement a separate Resource Sharing library, this also…

  12. Search entry for Resource Sharing Requests must be adjustable

When working on resource sharing requests lists (lending and borrowing) the first thing to do is selecting another search entry/term, mainly an aspect at the end of the list, to find a special request, because the author ist never the aspect we search for. The list in the pull down menue is hard coded and there is no option to re-order the list as we need it.
At least we like to achieve that the list starts with the last three search aspects the staff user has used. Alma has to remember them for the logged in staff user similar…

  13. When Creating Borrowing Requests Check for Duplicates with previous completed and cancelled requests

Following the implementation of the ability to check for duplicates when creating borrowing requests, we see that this only applies to active requests. We would find it helpful to have duplicate completed and cancelled requests flagged up in Alma (without the request being automatically rejected)

  14. Resource Sharing Preferred Email Address

We have multiple libraries set up as Resource Sharing Libraries. However as we can only have one preferred email address the Borrowing Resource Sharing Requests are coming from the default email address for the library (usually the information email address), and not the dedicated email address for resource sharing at that library.
It would be really useful to have an email address type in a library record that is used to send Resource Sharing requests.

  15. Resource Request Monitoring - partner information missing for Lending requests on hold

When a Lending request is put on hold, the partner information is not visible in the Resource Request Monitoring list. This makes it impossible to check which place in the queue a lending request has.
We would like the Requester field to to display partner information and be added to lending requests in the Resource Request Monitoring display.

    Please see attachment for screenshots.

  16. A borrowing library should be notified when a lending request is put on a waiting list

    Scenario:
A library receives a resource sharing request (lending request), and the borrowing library asks to be put on waiting list if the wanted item is on loan. When the request is put on waiting list, the borrowing library should be automatically notified. This could for intance be by change of status on the Borrowing request to "In queue".

  17. Ability to reverse 'completed' requests in Resource Sharing

There are some occasions where we have completed a resource sharing request, and then later realise we aren't actually "finished" with the request.
Even if you change the status to something else (e.g. shipped physically), you are still unable to receive an item on the request number.

Would it be possible to create an option to 'un-complete' a request? Which would then give the request all the available options as active requests?

  18. Modifying a partner after recieving a borrowing request should be possible

In the SNLP workflow the partner changes from the own partner code to the partner who ships the request automatically. Therefore most of the requests have the correct partner when the item arrives at the library.
So most of the time there is no need to modify a partner and the staff's attention to this attribute is not as high as it is to other attributes of the request. If we observe this AFTER receiving the item, there is no possibility to do so.
Because we don't know to which partner we have to send back the item after it…

  19. Resource Sharing Borrowing Requests back button

For some reason the Resource Sharing Borrowing Requests screen does not have a back button or a method of clearing the search. Even if you quick link the screen the link takes you to the search you have just done. It would be extremely useful to have a back button or a method of clearing the search.

  20. Calculation of due date for recalled lending requests should be consistent with fulfillment loan recalls.

When setting recall period on a fulfillment loan to "No recall due date", the original due date is kept, while renewal of the recalled loan is blocked.

For some reason, a different logic is applied to lending requests. Setting "No recall due date" as the recall period policy for lending requests, results in the due date being set to the date of the recall. The result is unpredictability for the borrower.

We propose that that these two very similar workflows are better alligned and that setting "no recall period" for recall should result in no change to the due date…
