  1. Permanent physical location for items in process

    We have found that when working through items in process/Monitor physical item requests that the permanent location is not included when exporting to Excel. This is very inconvenient when a staff member is trying to locate the item.

  2. Consider only the opening days and hours when calculating the transit time

    The Transit Time Rule for Physical Item Requests calculates the transit time in calendar days.
    As a result, days and times when the library is closed are also indicated as estimated delivery times for the requested media.
    These times are also displayed in Primo and thus give users incorrect information.
    Would it be possible to consider only the opening days and hours of the libraries when calculating the transit time?

  3. Allow patron to create "Alias" that prints to Ful Hold Shelf Request Slip Letter

    When item that has a request is returned at the circulation desk, a Ful Hold Shelf Request Slip Letter is printed. There is a Patron name on the Print.
    There should be a possibility for a Patron to choose an "Alias" (Name or Number) that would be printed to the Letter.

    This could be an Address -field that patron can update in Primo. Then it would be printed to the slip letter.

  4. Deliver Digital Documents: add notes

    We would like to add notes to the quick flow “Fulfillment > Deliver Digital Documents” (as is possible via the longer workflow of “Scan In > Manage In Process Items”). This way, we can swiftly deliver digital documents - regardless of file size - with a note to the patron. At this moment, for a note to be delivered to the end user, we need to take the more extensive route through “Manage In Process Items”. Here we are limited to file size and have to break up large files (as the file size limit is 25 MB and URLS…

  5. Allow booking requests only on the quarter hour and half hour

    If your booking resolution policies are set to "Minute", users can select any minute in the hour as a start and end time. We would like a configuration option that allows us to limit booking request start and end times to just the quarter hour and half hour.

  6. Auto-tick Notify User box in Request Cancellation dialogue on Alma

    Is there a way to set the ‘notify user’ box within the Request Cancellation dialogue box (Alma) to auto-tick by default? At the moment, the box is blank and we would like to set it up to tick by default so that user notifications don’t accidentally get missed.

    The box is within the Request Cancellation dialogue box where you enter the cancellation reason and notes.

  7. More Options for the "Pick Up Requested Resources" Window

    It would be great to have even mor configuration options for the pick up requested resources window. (See picture below)
    For example wenn picking up SIA norms, we would like to see such fields like the series number field (field 830) so we don't have to search on in the shelve for the exact norm.

  8. Display resource sharing request limit on user record

    When a resource sharing limit is set, display the current number of requests a user has placed in the last academic year. We have users getting failed requests due to hitting the limit, this would make it much easier to troubleshoot.

    It would be helpful to add a "Held Until:" column on the "Scan In Items" page. This would assist our teams when they are processing requests.

  10. Enable requests of multiple items of the same BIB-record

    In Alma, it is generally not possible to request multiple copies of the same record. This possibility only exists if items are differentiated by the item description.

    When it comes to special collections, patrons regularly want to compare multiple copies, which may differ. Such differences have generally not been recorded (hence no item description), which is exactly why people want to compare them. For collections in closed stacks, requesting from the catalog is the only way to obtain an item. However, we can currently not offer the option of requesting more than one copy to our patrons.   11. Preserve the requests when edit an item and save

    When modifying an item and saving, the related requests on the item might be cancelled. We hope for preserving the requests if the item was changed. Or the system can provide a selection button, and the librarian can decide whether to cancel the request or not.

  12. Add fields to specifiy the work order type or workorder status to the print slip for 'manage in process items'

    The print slip for items in the Fulfillment > Manage in process items uses the ReceivingSlipLetter.

    This is the workflow suggested by trainers for things like repairs or other technical work order flows.
    The letter does not have the XML fields that would reflect work order type or work order status.

    Development says this is an enhancement request, as they designed this letter for acquisitions work orders (case 00725539)

  13. Sort booking requests by Start Time

    When monitoring resource requests on Fulfillment > Monitor Requests & Item Processes, a "Sort by" button with an option to sort by Start Time would ease the handling of booking requests.
    The booking requests are currently sorted by Request Date, which is not very useful, and can not be sorted by any other field.

    A "Sort by" button actually does appear on Fulfillment > Pick From Shelf.

    Another option could be adding the Start Time on the drop down menu of the bar "Requests" on top of the page.

  14. Prevent sending cancellation letters to Partners when a patron cancels a Resource Sharing request via Primo

    Alma sends a cancellation message of a Resource Sharing borrowing request to a partner when a requester cancels this request in Primo. (Notifying a campus library to which a requester is assigned about a request cancellation is fine, but external partners should not be informed.)

    There should be an option in Alma to prevent patrons' cancellation requests being sent to external partners, as this is currently not possible:

  15. Have "Status" of a resource sharing request be separate from the "External ID"

    In Alma under User information > Manage fulfillment activities > Requests > Resource Sharing Requests, the "Status" and "External ID" is in the same field. We request that the status of an item be in a separate column from the external ID.

    Doing this will:
    * Avoid confusion as to what is the status vs what is the external ID
    * Make copying the External ID easier without having to remove the status information

The library they chose was our Resource Sharing Library (which we don't use at all and so is irrelevant to us in every way). I submitted a case to Support asking if we could somehow hide this library from view in the pickup location options in Alma, but was told that this wasn't possible.

    I was advised to create an idea here relating to this problem, so here I am!

  19. Add block action for patron digitization requests in User Block Definitions

    The configurable blocked actions for user blocks in Alma are:
    01 – loan
    02 – loan, renew
    03 – loan, renew, hold

    It is therefore possible to configure that blocked users are not allowed to place requests at all.

    We propose a distinction between the different request types in blocked actions.

    Blocked users should be able to place hold requests, as it can be checked at the latest at the time of loaning whether there is a block, and users then have to take care of the unblocking (e.g. by paying fees) in order to be able to loan the…

  20. Monitor Requests & Item Process Activity Status Filter

    Add Activity Status: Rejected to "Monitor Requests & Item Processes"
    It would be extremely helpful to have the Activity Status Rejected on the "Monitor Requests & Item Processes" Activity Status Filters. If it could be added as an option with Active, Completed and All, that would remove a ton of extra time and labor for our fulfillment processes.
