Add to the "Monitor Request" screen a filter which will allow users to see "Rejected and active" requests
On behalf of the Product management team we would like to understand the need and use cases of the following Idea (which it's need was raised by a specific library) - any comment is welcome.
When trying to delete a circulation desk user is notified: 'This circulation desk is attached to one or more requests and cannot be deleted'. User goes to the monitor request screen and does not find any request that prevents the desk deletion...
The reason is that the request was rejected but it is still active (item was not scanned)
Due to the fact the 'Monitor…

Ability to create new forms with custom fields
We would like to suggest the allowance to create new forms to support library functions such as accessing the closed stack books, or doing book paging between internal libraries. These may require special fields that are only native to the libraries and are not in the existing forms.
Also, adding extra custom fields for additional information into the existing forms (like purchase request ( can provide more functionality, for example, the priority ranking of a request.

Add a note to patron field in Digitization Department
It would be handy to have a way to include a note to the patron when fulfilling digitization requests. For example, a patron request chapters 1 and 17 from a 12 chapter book.
I could process their request for chapter 1 and include a note saying "According to Fair Dealing guidelines we can only scan and send one chapter from this book. There is also no chapter 17 in this book so I've only included chapter 1."
Or if the original material has been highlighted or scribble on I could attach a note saying "This marked-up version is the only…

Avoid to “hold shelf” for the expired patron.
Alma provides materials for “hold shelf” to patron, whose ID has expired, if he requested before his expiration date.

User information in Print slip report
We are currently using the print slip report for our click and collect service but for us it is missing some vital user information around the requester. We would like to see the primary identifier in the report. We tried to deal with this in analytics but we also require the item barcode and this caused problems where there are multiple items under a title. The print slip report contains all the information (including the multiple barcodes) we need except for more extensive user information to help staff deal with this off site. The name is not enough, particularly where…

More Options for Sorting in Pick from Shelf List
It would be really helpful to be able to sort items in the Pick from Shelf list by date. The facets are somewhat helpful, but sorting by date would make it more clear which requests have come in more recently today, for institutions that are monitoring requests as they come in during the day.
Sorting by some of the other facets would probably also be helpful when you don't want them filtered out, just sorted: location, pickup institution, material type, etc.

Include patron name on hold pull list
We'd like to be able to see the patron name for the hold request on the "Pick From Shelf" list. (See attached image.)

Add display options for item copy ID and volume numbering to list of patron's requests
Currently when counter staff views the list of a patron's requested items at Fulfilment module, the list does not display the item copy and volume numbering. This makes it very inconvenient when the requested titles consist of multiple copies or volume numbering. Please consider adding these 2 display options.
Refer to this part of the product documentation (currently there are no display options for item copy ID and volume numbering):

A separate booking calendar
Now, it is not possible to establish a separate calendar for booking request, the library's opening and closing times are used.
We would like the booking request to have a separate calendar from the Library's general hours.46 votes -
Prioritising Digitisation requests over hold requests for processing
Is it possible to have digitisation requests automatically prioritised to the top of a request queue over the physical item requests. Currently all physical item and digitisation requests go by the date they are placed by the patron. We find that patrons are waiting months sometimes just to get a copy of a chapter, where as if all digitisations were automatically at the top of the list they could all be processed and then items loaned to patrons.

Alma bookings - concurrent bookings issue
Our institution wants to introduce bookings in Alma for our High Demand loans, which are 3 hours.
The main issue we’ve found is concurrent bookings, see scenarios below, with a 5 minute exclusion set up:
• A books item for 11:40-12:40 - however doesn’t borrow the item within the 5 minute exclusion
• B books item at 11:46, for 11:50-12.50
• A checks out item at 11:53, despite booking for B at 11:50
What is needed is some mechanism for bookings to expire automatically once the exclusion period is reached.

Enable comments to patrons in digitization requests
Enabling comments to the patrons in digitization (and physical too) requests.
For example a patron requests Chapter 1, pages 1-40 in their digitization request but Chapter 1 is actually pages 1-24. There should be a way to attach Chapter 1 then send along a comment to the patron: "Chapter 1 has been attached. Request indicated pages 1-40 but this included Chapter 1 and part of Chapter 2 which goes beyond copyright allowance."
There is currently a comment field, but this comment is internal. So, rather than having the ability to add comments to the file as it goes to the…

New type of block : booking
Currently the Block Preferences in Alma have Block options to permit Blocks on :
· Block types 01 et 02= Loan and renewals
· Block type 03= Loan and renewals and request
· Block type 04 = Resource sharing
· Block type 05 = Request
It would be good to include a type of block for Booking only. It would allow us to block Booking without blocking other services for a patron.
Right now libraries can’t choose to sanction a booking abuse without blocking every other service. It is too strong a sanction for some users.
Best regards,
Nathalie Darbon

Allow more configuration for library item of interest notification
The "library item of interest" message currently doesn't allow much room for configuration, particularly for the bibliographic portion of the message. It includes something labeled a title field (which includes the title, place of publication and publisher, publication date, series, and ISBN) and an MMS ID field. This data seems to be pulled from the brief order record. Would it be possible to make this section of the notification more configurable -- so that more data (like author) might be included, and so that everything currently mapped to the "title" field could be disaggregated into individual fields (place of publication…

digitization request limits - Daily and to specific records
We would like to be able to add limits to digitization requests. So that users can only request a specific amount of digitization's per day. And that specific user groups can only requests once or twice on a specific record. As making multiple requests on the same item can not be fulfilled due to issues for Copyright.

Add a View All tab to the Expired Hold Shelf Items View
Add a View All tab to the Expired Hold Shelf Items View
There is no way to view all expired holds on one screen.
There is a workflow that recommends pulling all the items with expired holds off of the hold shelf and scanning in them in using Fulfillment > Resource Requests > Scan In Items. This action moves the item on to it's next step and had the added benefit of trapping items that have work orders and move requests on them.
The benefit of this workflow is that it prevents an item that is due to go back…

Option to define which library will serve a patron digitization request with priority
We allow patrons to place digitization requests on print journal articles. For this we use a central digitization department that serves several libraries of the institution. Since the request can be placed on the journal title it often occurs that several libraries could fulfill the request. At the moment the system picks the serving library randomly. Since our central digitization department is located at our central library, it would be extremely helpful, if we could define that items of the central library fulfill the requests with priority. This way we could eliminate unnecessary transfers of items between libraries and speed…

Add Shelving Location to "Monitor Requests & Item Processes"
It would be extremely helpful to have the shelving location show up in the information on the "Monitor Requests & Item Processes" (MR&IP) lists. Neither "Pick from Shelf" (PFS) or MR&IP shows all of the most helpful information when fulfilling requests. The closest for our library's purposes is MR&IP with the only piece of information missing being the shelving location of items. If it could be added as an option or at least show up in the exported Excel sheet as a column that would remove a ton of extra time and labor for our fulfillment processes.

Limit the number of request per library
Similar to how you can limit the number of request for a patron by group.
If a library has limited resources (labor and materials) and can only serve so many of those request within a given term, it doesn't help to have a backlog, especially when interest in a given item will be lost over time. In helping libraries to mitigate demand it would be good to set a limit on the aggregate number of request received by a library. When the quota is reached then the requests option in Primo would grey out. or not appear. A label or…
