Scan item barcode in Manage Patron Services
When using "Fulfillment -> Manage Patron Services" to view a user's account, the "Submit Request" button presumably could be used to put a hold request on an item for that user, but the only search index that this method allows is "All Titles". You can search for a title, and you can use the hamburger menu button to open up other options like MMS ID, ISBN, etc., but even this and the further embedded Advanced search only uses "All Titles". This means that you can't scan an item's barcode and put a request on that item using the "Physical Titles"…

Stop Change Due Date from overriding hold request
There's an issue we're having where changing the due date of a loan allows the current owner to extend their checkout time, even after a hold request has been placed. We have Alma configured so that it prevents a renewal from occuring, but change due date seems to ignore that function.

Alma to automatically process pending requests when recalls are switched back on
During Easter and Christmas vacation we turn off recalls in Alma, so requests are still placed by the user but recalls are not made. After the vacation, we turn recalls back on however Alma does not 'catch up/update' the pending requests into a recall.
We would like Alma to therefore be able to process those requests in pending and turn them into recalls once the recalls have been switched back on.

When cancelling requests from the pick list, display a warning message
On the pick list, requests are displayed at a title level. This means it is possible that multiple requests are present for the title. When clicking 'cancel request' from the title, all requests are cancelled, not only the first one. Since this behaviour occurs even when requests are from different requesters, for different volumes or different digitisations, we would like a warning message to appear before deleting multiple requests from this screen.

Library of Last Resort
Hello. On the 'Level of service required' drop-down menu, could you add 'Library of last resort' as an option? Or have it as a standalone field to tick? Thanks.

Physical Item Hold Requests
Multi site library - prevent users from placing a physical item hold request on items that are available on the shelf of the library they are placing the hold request from - if the item is not available on the shelf but a copy is available at a different location then placing a physical item hold request should be allowed.

Add task list- item request be rejected or be cancelled and become to "transit"
found that when the request(any request) is rejected in any way (by patron or librarian) the item's next step is "Transit", but there do not have task or list to let the librarian know.
it will cause these items stuck in "Transit" until someday we need them.
If we can add the task list to let the librarian know which item we should handle it should be better.

Adding a physical holdings drop down to the request brief result would help in person enquiries.
Case - Currently, when a user requests an item. If the user then comes to the libary and asks a college librarian to update them about how long before the item is ready to collect. If they search for the request and no item has been return that can fulfill the request. It takes 2/3 extra clicks to go via the 'view title in search' and find out the current availability of the items within that record.
Solution - It would better if it was possible to click on a drop down of all physical holdings on that bibliographic record…1 vote -
Deliver Digital Documents: add notes
We would like to add notes to the quick flow “Fulfillment > Deliver Digital Documents” (as is possible via the longer workflow of “Scan In > Manage In Process Items”). This way, we can swiftly deliver digital documents - regardless of file size - with a note to the patron. At this moment, for a note to be delivered to the end user, we need to take the more extensive route through “Manage In Process Items”. Here we are limited to file size and have to break up large files (as the file size limit is 25 MB and URLS…

Ability to edit request priorities
We would like the ability to edit, i.e. rename or translate, the names of the request priorities in the Manual priority drop-down menu in the request queue. It is not entirely obvious which to choose, and we would like to be able to eg. number them from 1. to 8. It was suggested to us by Ex Libris support that we promote this question through Idea Exchange.

Override patron physical item request Limit
There is a Max. physical item requests in Patron Limits.
However there doesn't appear to be an ability to allow staff to override this limit, which from time to time they need to do.
I propose that there is a parameter that allows staff with a particular role the ability to override this limit.1 vote -
Pages option for digitization requests
Creating a partial Patron digitization request allows you to define two "from: / to:" page intervals. Sometimes, articles are spread across more intervals, but with no space for this information, that data is lost.
We would like to see a simple text field: "Pages:" to be used in situations as this. This already exists in Lending requests and should also be available for digitization requests.9 votes -
Provide a configuration to limit by material type to a specific pick-up location
For institutions with multiple libraries where only one library may have A/V viewers or microform readers it would be helpful for that institution to limit the pick-up location by material type to the library that has the necessary equipment for onsite use.
This would eliminate confusion and time delay when a user makes a request to pick up a material type at a location where they cannot use it onsite.5 votes -
Allow customization of the Notify User check box in Confirm Request Cancellation box.
Current default is that this item is checked, however with local processes, we would prefer not to automatically notify the patron in most circumstances. It would be better for us to opt-in than to opt-out.

Prevent the reservation of items from other libraries if material exists on the user's campus
By default, Alma allows the user to request material from any of the libraries registered in the system.
For us this is not always desirable, because in certain cases the library where he can request the material is located hundreds of kilometers from where he is, and the transport of this material becomes difficult and time-consuming.
This is especially problematic when the material exists in the library/campus where that user is registered. The requested item would take longer to arrive from somewhere else than if he waited it to be returned to his campus.
To solve this, we would like…

Ability to assign fulfillment proxy to existing users
We recently tested the fulfillment proxy feature as we have a few departmental workflows we have been using shared internal accounts for. We find the functionality to be the inverse of what we would like to see. For example, we have about 10 users who place RS requests for the law review. We would like to add the fulfillment proxy to these existing user rather than making them new internal accounts.

Differentiate “regular” Hold Request and Interested User Request or Change “Interested User Check” Order
Because Alma does not have the granularity to separate an Interested User request and a regular hold request, our Interested User hold process does not work.
When the “Non-Requestable Processes Fulfillment Unit Rule or Change Order” is configured to prevent “in process” items from being requestable, any items that have an Interested User that are in our Technical Services Work Order are treated as “in process” and therefore, the interested user request is blocked. While we do not want most “In Process” items to be requestable, we do want our Interested User requests to be fulfilled.
Because of this configuration,…

Sort booking requests by Start Time
When monitoring resource requests on Fulfillment > Monitor Requests & Item Processes, a "Sort by" button with an option to sort by Start Time would ease the handling of booking requests.
The booking requests are currently sorted by Request Date, which is not very useful, and can not be sorted by any other field.A "Sort by" button actually does appear on Fulfillment > Pick From Shelf.
Another option could be adding the Start Time on the drop down menu of the bar "Requests" on top of the page.

Allow transferring a recall to the next eligible item without placing a new request
In the event a patron with a recalled item has extenuating circumstances that prevent the item's timely return, it would be helpful to pass the recall process to the next eligible item in the holding, e.g. the next oldest loan. Currently, we are only able to extend the due date of the current loan, and advise the requesting patron to cancel then re-request the item - this would cause issues if there is a queue of requests for the item, and we would like to be able to "bump" the chain of requests down if possible.

Allow Request Notes to be edited even with complex Fulfilment Rules
We introduced Fulfillment Rules to check if there are any "Process Types" assigned to an item and make them unrequestable. For example if an item is MISSING, REQUESTED, LOST, LOANED, etc.
This allows an item without a process type to be requested fine. Unfortunately, the moment you try to edit the Request Note and update the request, it ends up rechecking the Fulfillment rules and oddly cancels the request.
We were hoping we can use the edit Request Note process to mark items when our library officers have done 1st/2nd/3rd shelf searching of items before they become officially marked as…
