  1. In Patron Loans tab, allow filtering of loans by status

    In the patron loan tab, we would like to be able to filter the Loan Display by status (Normal, Claimed Return, Lost, etc). Currently the only options are either "All Loans" or "Loans of this Session". If we could filter by status it would reduce confusion for desk staff and help us give accurate information to patrons inquiring about their loans.

  2. Provide specific details in job reports of offline circulation

    Error messages like “A later action on this item happened.” in job reports is not very helpful for the staff to understand what the problem was. Please provide more details about it.

  3. A more precise reloan limit embargo

    We wish to apply the reloan limit to avoid 24h items same user reloan, but actually the rule block loans on same title and same material type, wich has this side effect: a user return a item with loan policy 1 month (with no reloan limit rule applied) and he cannot reloan because the item is requested by another user, so he wants to loan the other item with a loan policy of 24h (with reloan limit rule applied) available but the loan is blocked anyway: we don't want this, so it is possibile to refine the same title/same material…

  4. Return Items - reverse display order

    Reverse the order of display in the Return Items function so that the newest are at the top. This will make it easy to see how many have been processed without having to scroll down.

  5. Choose users affiliated to a particular library - Bulk Change Due Date

    Our situation is that we have 2 libraries (eg. Library A - Library B) in 2 different cities. Students affiliated to a particular library can borrow items (books, DVD, etc.) owned by the other library.

    The problem is:

    Eg. Due to COVID, library A closed and library B remain open, so students affiliated to library A can't physically return their books. I would like to bulk change due date for all loans of library A students.

    HOWEVER, if I choose 'Library A' in the field 'Library' of Bulk Change Due Date feature, Alma will change due date of loans related…

  6. Bulk Recall by Staff

    Currently in ALMA, an item can only be recalled by request. While we do not allow our patrons to recall items from other patrons, we do, on occasion, need to recall items from patrons for course reserves.

    It appears that there is no way, either with the Scan in Items feature, or by uploading an excel spreadsheet, to indicate by barcode a number of items that need to be recalled, submit the recall, and truncate the due date of the patrons to which those items are currently loaned.

    If we could have a functionality like this that not only recalls…

  8. Closed Library Due Date Management to retain the fixed due time for next open day

    At present the only options for Closed Library Due Date management are;
    Move date backward
    Move date forward (either Start or End of next Open Day)
    No change to due date

    However none of these are satisfactory when you have a due date that has a fixed time.
    It would be really helpful if there was a new Closed Library Due Date Management option that moves the due date forward but retains the due time.

  9. Natural Days vs Working Day in Loans

    Hi,
    My suggestion is to implement the option of using working days or opening days to calculate the expiration date in a loan.
    Actually ALMA set this day by taking the natural days, but in a small library do not want to count Sundays as a day of loan, in attention to the students.

  12. Ability to create true temporary "on the fly" items that disappear

    The "quick cataloging" in fulfillment is fine for items that are expected to be shunted to technical services after they are returned, but some items, like journals that don't normally circulate, don't need to be processed after, just returned to the shelf. There should be a true "on the fly" process that creates a temporary record that is automatically deleted once the item is scanned back in.

  13. Add "Copy ID" to loan information in Manage Patron Services

    When viewing a patron's current loans in "Manage Patron Services", Alma will display information like the loaned item's barcode, but it doesn't display its "Copy ID". When libraries have multiple copies of one item, it can be difficult to tell which item is out on loan to a specific patron without leaving the Patron Services page and going to view the item itself. "Copy ID", like "Barcode", is a unique identifier for an item and should be visible in the same way.

  14. Exact time of Due Date for the loans for hours

    For cases of a loan for hours, there is no option to make the return time be earlier than the closing time of the Library.

    At our university we loan for hours laptops and other materials, which users must return before closing the Circulation desks (20.30), not at the libraries closing time (23.59).

    In the Advanced policy setting of due date, there is the option to include a specific time when the unit of measure is days, weeks or months, but not in hours.
    We believe that it would be necessary to have this possibility to manage these loans correctly.

  15. loan status letter

    The FulItemChangeDueDateLetter is found under General Configuration Menu > Letter Activity, but it is not possible to find it in Letter Emails.

    Only SMS version exists for "Change Due Date". Where is this letter?

    The EMAIL version is called "Loan Status Notice", for the "Full Item Change Due Date Letter". (In: General Configuration Menu > Letter Emails).

    Why would you change the wording of the letter in Letter Emails?? makes it impossible to find unless you know that. thanks

    Having the ability to turn off courtesy letters for certain items (e.g. 1 day loan items) based on fulfillment unit rules or by some other means.

  19. Show call number in brief record

    It is possible to configure what is displayed in the brief record however one cannot choose to display the call number.

    It requires more cliks to see where the physical material is to be found. It would be great if one could find the information directly from the result page of a search.

  20. Improve Close Lost Loans Job

    The existing close lost loans job is a great idea. However, it doesn't perform as described here: http://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Knowledge_Articles/Create_a_set_to_close_lost_loans

    To improve this job please, make it possible to detach lost loans from patrons accounts AND withdraw those items in the same job. Also, please make it possible to use a field such as due date or checkout date to set the criteria.
