Allow the "Type of Unit" field in the item record to be edited in the item record rather than in the holdings record
Right now you can add the Type of Unit to the item record by adding an 85X $$o to the holdings record. If you have more than one you can do this:
853 $$8 1 $$o Ten year cumulative index
853 $$8 2 $$o Supplementthe Type of Unit will become a drop-down and you can choose.
However, this is a lot of work, and not intuitive. We would like the ability to type into the Type of Unit field in the item record.

Export physical items to Excel for corrections, then import the changes
Hello,
In Alma, our library would like the ability to search for a list of physical items, export the items to Excel and make corrections there, and then upload the new Excel file to replace the fields that were updated.The editable fields in Excel should be the same ones that appear in the Physical Item Editor.

Run the job ‘Change Physical Items information’ with user role ‘Physical Inventory Operator’ at library level
Background
Currently, a user with ‘Physical Inventory Operator’ role at institutional level can perform physical inventory change by a batch job ‘Change Physical Items information’ in Alma. This applies to a set of any physical items owned by all libraries in an institution. Allow the ability to withdraw an item when holding is associated with an Active PO Line
Library staff need the ability to delete-withdraw items from holdings that are associated with active PO lines when the item has been replaced by a newer year. This activity is typical when a library retains only the current year's issues or the latest volume of a serial.
At present, in order to withdraw these items, the staff member must move the items to a secondary holding record that is not linked to the active PO line, which adds unnecessary work to a simple withdrawal task.

Allow import profiles to create items under existing holdings
Add an option in Alma import profiles to add item to existing holdings, when there is only one holdings on a bib. When there are multiple holdings already on the bib record, allow user to specify that the item should be added to the holdings that matches the library and location mapping specified. Or, allow it to look and match on holdings that match data mapped from the incoming bib record. And then, the fallback is if matching fails, to add a new holdings record based on information specified either in the inventory mapping or mapped from the incoming bib…

Automatic addition of specific holdings to a Collection in Alma
Is it possible to have a particular holdings location in Alma to be automatically added to the Collections feature rather than manually adding each title? For example, anything that may be catalogued at the location John Paul II Library>>Closed Access, can they be automatically added to ‘Collections’ at the cataloguing stage without input from the cataloguer?

Auto-assigning barcodes to a set of physical records in Alma
Currently there is no way to auto-assign barcodes to a set of physical items in Alma in order to retrieve in-house usage statistics for non-circulating material. We were informed this is possible for new items at the Acquisitions stage but not currently possible for existing material in Alma. We are requesting a new job to be run in Alma or via an import profile to auto-generate barcodes to a set off physical items in Alma for in house statistical purposes.

Avoid duplicate Item call numbers
At present, when duplicating an item, barcode is automatically generated and saved even before any changes in a duplicated item record are done. That means in practice, that if - for some reason - Item call number or any other field were not modified, duplication is created. That is a huge problem in fields that 1] require unique value, 2] there are no warnings about duplicate value in any moment of the process. Import jobs with many serial issues crash
Publishing profiles at the bib level will include all items (in an ITM field with the data specified in the inventory enrichment section of the publishing profile). When trying to import these published files, if bibs for a serial have more than 50-100 items, the import job crashes with the error code like: "Import Job 3833572600004617 External system 3833573620004617 File HUscfmissingbarcode...Split file error error parsing leader with data: 14519cas a2210880 a 450"
The only current solution is to manually edit these files with an XML editor to properly split the files.

Enhancement request for New MDE > Editing Actions > Expand from Template
Request for customizing the sorting and enable/disable the template options in the Choose Template dropdown list
The current sorting is starting from public ones followed by private ones, in alphanumeric order respectively.
We hope for being able to toggle enable/disable and customize the ordering of the template optionsFor achieving the above feature, refer to New MDE > New > Templates display configuration
A similar toggle button for each template, similar to the Display in Menu toggle button here, is desired.
And allowing manually sorting the order of the templates would be appreciated as well.0 votes -

Include affected barcodes or MMS IDs in Alma job reports
This is a suggestion to include affected barcodes or MMS IDs in Alma job reports, e.g. the Change holding information job. This is helpful for us to study what has happened, or to undo the commands. Currently there is not a way to retrieve affected barcodes in Alma or Analytics. There is a situation that the change holding information has affected the sister item records which are not included in the physical item set to run this job with.
